I noticed for Fawkes it doesn't work with companion mods like infninite ammo or "Better companions" mod (seems to be he is not counting as "true" companion).
Is there any way to get this working for him, too? Giving him the Vinidcator minigun is really devestating and fitting for the big guy, but it depleates the ammo in secons of course and 308. ammo is pricey and also not availabe in masses...
EDIT: found the issue. Now the only issue still, Fawkes doesn't hold miniguns correctly.
So long time ago but I now figured out what the issue was. all DLC companions weirdly didn't have infinite ammo- so it was weird on the end.
Only Vanilla companions had infinite ammo, and so I downloaded again and it seemed it was an outdated versioon, reinstalled, set it anew via the holotape, and it works...
Sadly he got the sam restrictions like Strong and the other hostile super mutans, so no laser gatlin.
- BUT you can still give him any kind of conventional heavy weapon, so I'm using the Vinidicator gun from skibadaas Minigun Rebirth mod- much more devestating xD
Man it'll be really cool if you could release a mod with the same but better "Classic Super mutant design from fallout 3 / NV". Me and plenty of others don't like the super mutants in fallout 4, they don't look as intimidating as the ones from before. Love the design for Fawkes and hope to see more mods in the future!
That could easily be done with nifscope and the CK. It seems the mod author is no longer active so sadly it's probably not possible to ask for their permission but if it were granted I'd see to it in no time. So @TheFriedturkey, please if you read this just say the word.
Thing is super mutans out of fallout 3 were unique because they mutated from a mix of an experimantal virus and the extreme blatand radiation of a nuclear bomb which direktly hit the entrance of vault 87.
So that's why they look more unique and was different from the other FEV projects where super mutans were made to withstand radiation instead of mutating with it.
The voice ruins it imo. It needs the use of one of the ai voice programs we have available now like the deepfakes. I know some people were offended by a major mod that used the program for Nate, but the way I see it is that voice actor has already been paid to have their voice used in game. It's not like they're using it with an actor like say "Brad Pitt" who hasn't done any game voice acting. Regardless, heres to hoping this mod sees something like this in the future.
The combat dialogue sounds like it's done by the same actor and is taken from vanilla Fallout 4 game files, but the rest is fan acted. It's not a very good impression of Fawkes imo, but it could be worse.
I'm pretty sure the latter would be true, but I've heard of total conversions (TC) like the Fallout 3 TC for Fallout 4 (that I think this Fawkes companion might be from iirc) being allowed to at least recreate existing games, but I think they legally have to make the project require for people to own a legal copy of Fallout 3 before they download it, much like Skyblivion. I don't know if they can do the same with mods or if Nexus strictly forbids it (like they probably do), but I think a person is allowed to privately mod their game to have probably anything in it without permission as long as they aren't distributing the mod.
In Fallout4NewVegas they had to re record all lines because Bethesda won't let them use it, I'd bet it's the same for Capital Wasteland and this mod (which is a shame because this Fawkes voice is not very good).
Yeah, legally Bethesda can't let us use music and voices from (their) other games. It has to do with what the musicians and voice actors were paid and consented to do, copyright stuff. Editing voices/music for use in the game they came from is allowed though.
There was a mod for TTW that was uploaded to the New Vegas nexus that used James' voice, they worked around the fact he's from FO3 by uploading the voice files to the Fallout 3 nexus. So the player had to download the esp from FNV nexus and then download the voice files from FO3 nexus and then combined the two files together before installing the mod.
@Kikiapplus Is a phenominal voice actor Perhaps she can try and test her skills by doing a deep groggy orc voice. I can hear her now That would be kinda cool, but we would have to give fawks a more 'anime' look, to help match the depiction, that might actually be pretty fun to see
Just putting this out there: Noone can stop you from using bsa extractor to get the original sound files from Fallout 3, moving them to this mod and renaming them accordingly.

and Fawkes seems to have infinite ammo on my end, make sure he has at least 2 of whatever ammo type his weapon is using and that should do it.

Or do they have to not be from a different game

I wonder if something like that would work here.
