    Sticky
Here's additional info in case you wonder:
The shield's position is relative to the mine when it "explodes", so sometimes it won't look as you anticipated.

Recommended mods for this Deployable Shield mod (useful tactics -- you take cover after deploying the shield, you reload your firearms and heal/bandage yourself, you lob a few grenades at the closest enemies, drop a couple of spider mines to scurry out to hunt down lurking enemies, you dispatch a drone to keep the stronger enemies busy, you can lean and shoot from behind the shield, but if all these tactics fall and your shield is almost destroyed due to overwhelming fire, you can grapple to the nearest high rise building or rocky outcropping, deploy another sheild and try again, or escape while you are still alive):
    Take Cover
Simple Dodges - Sidestep Dodges and Dodge Rolls
Uneducated Shooter - QE Leaning and Gun Inertia
    Simply Craftable Artillery Smoke Grenades
    Auto Mines - Spider Mines
    M84 FlashBangs
    Bash and Grenade Keys Separator
Drone Relay Grenades (Mini Veritbird Drones)
    Grappling Hook

This is extremely useful when you run across a large group of hostile NPC's, just toss it down then toss down a portable turret and you can fight any number. Try this at the hospital with all the mutants ( I get killed here a lot). Go into the entrance alcove throw out turret and shield and the suicider mutant cant blow you up. I like to use this in doorways or just out in the street to redirect Npc's into a line of fire. It takes some work (mod) to get your companions not to rush out in front though. I have friends that enjoy Fallout who occasionally help me test mods and it always aggravated me that they would just stand in the street Toe to toe with a hostile both firing point blank till someone died or ran out of ammo. This makes you think about how you want  to tactically position you and your followers for an upcoming battle and use cover. It is difficult to get all you gear in position in an impromptu fight, but with hotkeys and practice you can avoid just standing there absorbing bullets and sucking down stimpacks. They don't weight much so I always carry 2 for any situation along with a portable turret. I feel this technology fits in fairly well with lore, and the level of technology available to NPC's. No technical issues, as TH says "It just works".

How could someone use the durability function from your mod and give it to Immersive Deployable shields?

Do remember how to add damage functions to certain items? Or do you know any guides?

It's called destruction data and you can access it easily in the CK, that's all I can say about it. Take a look at other destroyable objects in the game and you should be fine.

Are they spheres or flat surfaces? It's hard to tell looking at screenshots.

Would be cool do have differently themed shields. Like a junkshield for Scavanger/Raider playthroughs, a BOS-Theme one, and so on.

Check this mod out then: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25549?

Zorkaz's has one particular advantage over that one though: Zorkaz's can be destroyed by NPCs, which is cool. I would suggest that he ask that mod author to use his meshes for this updated shield mod since he doesn't have time to do it himself and thus abandoned it. That way those awesome shields can also be immersively destroyed and aren't just a wall on the fly.
