This is late, but there's a similar mod: longer lasting fusion cores They don't stay charged forever like in this mod, but the highest version lasts for 267 hrs (real life time, not game time).
El mejor mod, se supone que los nucleos de fusión pueden durar una eternidad, si una sola célula puede alimentar por mas de 210 años todo un edificio, ¿como va a durar 10 minutos en una servoarmadura? 10/10
this should be classified under immersive mods. If you don't know in the fallout lore the power armor's fusion core lasts almost forever. waaaaaay more than 200 and ten years let alone 10 minutes.
I ask because a power armor without any fusion core in the slot can still move. That means that the fusion core is not needed at all to get the suit to move, not that a discharged fusion core somehow still provides minimal power.
This is a useless retort though. The reality is that some generators, in this game, have been powering lighting and other systems for more than 200 years without having 1% of their capacity diminished. That means, in simple terms, that the power armor's usage would literally bake the user due to not converting energy at 100% efficiency.
Let's do some math, and claim that each fusion core is actually losing 1% of its charge over 200 years powering a pair of 60 watt bulbs. 120 Watts = 120 J/s. 1 year = 31622400 s Power consumed in 200 years by those lights is 120*31622400*200 = 758937600000 Joules Let's assume the average human is about 90% water and weighs 200 pounds (easy number, not based on anything). 1 BTU = 1055 Joules and 1 BTU heats 1 pound of water one degree F Let's assume some magic, and call the suits 95% power efficient, meaning 5% of that energy is converted into heat. 758937600000 Joules = 719372133 BTU 5% is converted to heat, so 35968607 BTUs are provided Each person is 180 pounds of water That means each pound of water in the human body rises 199826 degrees for every 1% the fusion core is drained. As fusion cores drain at a relatively brisk pace, this means that a fusion core should give you superhuman power, but it doesn't. This means that a fusion core should instantly vaporize the suit, but it doesn't.
So yes, a draining fusion core to power a suit makes almost no sense. Draining a fusion core to power a laser does. Lasers capable of firing continously, with enough energy to vaporize dense matter (as they do in Fallout), would need something like the above fusion core to function.
Congratulations, we've proven Bethesda can't do physics. They can't do collision. They can't even do reasonable AI pathing. Despite this, I'm still playing their games because modders remove all the bull crap. Thank you Tyrantrum85 for removing one more bit of insanity from this game.
Wow, I read all that with my mouth...somewhat open. Most of it went over my head but it sounded like truly inspired math. Clearly beyond my meager mental acuity. And what's more, I agree. Thumbs up.
exept that reactor in Fallout PA use Cold Fusion, they barely produce any heat (wet dream of nuclear power aplication). Interplay thought it all out, Bethesda is there to ruin the lore xD
agree! fusion core doesn't make sense for PA in fo4, also PA ain't that god cheat items, enemies & other stronger enemies can easily destroy your your PA armor plate, leaving player vulnerable to damage & such, so that you need to maintain & repair the plate & such, that's mean having fusion core for PA never drains is lore-friendly!
@Seushimare The reactors in Fallout 4 do not use Cold fusion. In one of the Institute terminals you can even see a message where a researcher asked to try and figure out cold fusion, and was shot down, because it never worked and likely never will.
there is a guy who does youtube videos and he analyzed the science behind stim packs and what they would actually be doing to your body in order to achieve the healing they do, well he did a video on fusion cores and based on the math and the type of material used for the fusion reaction he concluded that most fusion cores would be dead or nearing dead after 200 years so technically bethesda actually got one right, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bA76-cixf-s its a good video and is funny. acording to the math the fusion cores would only last another 64 days after fallout 4 starts, in fairness though you could have constant use on a newly manufactured fusion core that would last for 105 years. the cores are old and the power consumption is actually almost spot on. But we want POWERARMOR damnit and thats why we use this mod.
fusion cores lasting as long as you said makes more sense when you take the brotherhood into account as they have vast amounts of power armour but with no clear indication into the production of fusion cores rather the acquiring of them from pre-war stash's and generators
Maybe you are overthinking this. Isn't the strength that you use to move the power armor when the core completely drained? Considering the weight, I think one can barely move.

Someone knows another or similar mod?

even more than the vanilla game LOL

120 Watts = 120 J/s.
1 year = 31622400 s
Power consumed in 200 years by those lights is 120*31622400*200 = 758937600000 Joules
Let's assume the average human is about 90% water and weighs 200 pounds (easy number, not based on anything).
1 BTU = 1055 Joules and 1 BTU heats 1 pound of water one degree F
Let's assume some magic, and call the suits 95% power efficient, meaning 5% of that energy is converted into heat.
758937600000 Joules = 719372133 BTU
5% is converted to heat, so 35968607 BTUs are provided
Each person is 180 pounds of water
