I sincerely apologize to anyone who downloaded the previous version. Apparently there was a game-breaking change in there that I wasn't even aware of. The new version has had those listings removed, and shouldn't cause a CTD anymore. Remember to completely remove the mod either with NMM or manually, and then make a clean save before downloading the updated Mod.
For those who aren't completely sure what a clean save is, it's as follows. Remove the mod, then open your game. Load up your save file that originally had the mod, and then make sure the game loads completely. Manually make a save, and then exit the game. Restart your computer, and then load back into the game. After you successfully load up the game, exit the game and then re-download and re-install this mod. That process removes all the mod bits and scripting leftovers from the original plugin.
Anyways, again, my apologies about the earlier CTD issues. Enjoy the mod!
Is there a way not to have Maxson in his PA Suit until he's out on a mission closer to the finale of the storyline? Feels a little silly he'd be in it 24/7 considering he doesn't really do anything to require it :)
Hey, I'm getting the same problem. Pretty much every soldier i encounter has an automatic pistol and it deals next to no damage. It's particularly noticeable at checkpoints. Not sure why. On a clean save at a low level they seem to have the proper variety. I changed the default value for the level 4 versions of the BoS Enhanced weapons from "false" to "true" via FOEdit and I found this resolved the issues with most soldiers but the ones at checkpoints still sometimes have either level 1 semi auto rifles or automatic laser pistols. Further investigation required.
I will look into this. As for the enhanced weapons, there seems to be a built in script somewhere in the original weapon distribution values that I can't seem to pin down or change, which means that no matter what I try, I can't get the weapons to change either. I do apologize for this, and I'll keep working at it to see if I can fix it.
So, I was really wanting to download this, but from the date or the author's comment and the date of the files, it looks that this issue was never fixed. Too bad, otherwise I'd use this mod. But just having the BoS largely armed with pistols is a gamebreaker. It just debuffs all the buffs that were added :(
First of all, if the modder still checks this, thanks for this! I love this mod. It find that it does just the right amount of changes that suits my taste. I don't like how other enhancement or overhaul mods do way too much.
In case anyone is still looking for an answer, I used FO4Edit to change the "Default" value of the 24th version (fully modded/upgraded assault rifle version) of the enhanced laser rifle item to "True". Once the NPCs reset (I waited 30 in-game days, but 3 or 7 might be enough), they will start carrying the upgraded assault rifle version. You can pick whichever version of the enhanced laser rifle you want to be the new "default" version.
Note though that this will result in the BOS NPCs carrying the "new default version" of the gun. There won't be any variety but at least they'll be using a better version of the gun and the BOS NPCs aren't taking on Super Mutant Warlords with the basic pea shooter. lol.
I am not an expert at using FO4Edit and don't want to post instructions that may be inaccurate and ruin your save. So search online for tutorials on the basics of using FO4Edit. You just need the basics. Once you get how to use it, just follow the explanation above. You just need to change the "Default" value.
Good luck.
Side note: The problem starts showing up once you reach higher levels. Again, I'm no expert but the distribution tables look right, so it must be some script or how the game resolves the values. This is a highly speculative theory. Anyway, this post got long. Good luck.
I read what the mod maker changed there, if anything, just put my mod after that one in load order, any changes their mod makes SHOULD override the same changes in mine, and keep the balance that they intended while still giving the adjustments this one has.
if this mod is still active I would like to report that sergeant gavil and knight lucia in boston airport are missing their clothes and only their combat armor equipped I have to use console commands to give the two BOS clothing. Also brotherhood npcs clutter the entrance door into the prydwen and I have to push them out of the way same thing with the quarters in the prydwen they just stand around and block the path cluttering it and some knights that walks without power armor just punches randomly in the prydwen. Punches the air or the walls for some reason. Although this can be easily disregarded it's still immersion breaking. I love your work hopefully you see this. I do have mods that modify npc AI but I dont think it causes it. It only happened when I installed your mod. This is also a new playthrough. Im gonna continue testing and see if I can solve this on my own. Maybe it's just the load order
This mod only affects equipment and stats. I don't touch any of the labeling or any of the AI scripting, so the borked AI is possibly due to recent patches combined with whatever AI modifying mods you have. The gear being missing may be due to the odd way that Beth scripted in how special NPCs are equipped. I'll take a look.
There will be a bunch of naked and unarmed brotherhood soldiers running around the airport, prydwen and the police station, but a cell reset should take care of that. Also they will still be buffed until then.
In my gameplay, elder maxson exited his power armor after i've completed blind betrayal. His power armor is still outside the bunker at listening post bravo. Is there a way to make him re enter his power armor? Excellent mod btw.
I've never had that happen. But I guess it's to be expected due to the scripting they have in place. Best bet would be to save first, then try the "recycleactor" console command on Maxson. Even if that doesn't work, with the adjustments I made to his stats, he's still a very powerful NPC.
