John's Nice Looking HUD for DEF_UI adds a clean and well-organized HUD built upon the DEF_UI mod. DEF_UI gives players the power to edit and style their game's interface to their liking. DEF_UI is also a great mod for removing clutter and unnecessary information. Customize your HUD today!
John's Nice Looking HUD mod only works with the DEF_UI configuration for 16:9 screen resolutions, I believe. It may work for others if you edit it yourself. If your screen Height (small number) DIVIDED BY Width (big number) = 1080/1920, this will work.

Author's instructions
Permissions: Do whatever you'd like with this.
Nexus: Give permission for users to upload my files on other sites? Me: Yeah, sure go ahead. I'm not going to try and keep people from having fun or having a nicer UI. Go for it. Upload it to your wedding photo slideshow if you want. Who cares?
Nexus: Give permission for users to convert my mod to work in other games? Me: Sure, man. If you can figure it out, go ahead. I'm not going to try and stop you from having fun.
Nexus: Give permission for users to modify my file, including bug fixes or feature improvements, and to upload it separately? Me: Of course. If you can make it better, go ahead. If it inspires you and you want to riff on it, go ahead. I'm not going to stop you from having fun. Do what you want with this mod. See the theme here?
Nexus: Give permission for users to use assets contained in my files in their own files? Me: Yeah, son. Go for it. There are some images in my mod files that are just for the Nexus, but feel free to use them anywhere! I don't give a damn. The picture of Deacon is pretty cool yea? Go ahead and use it. Have FUN. I won't stop you.
File credits
Credits go to DEF_UI mod and it's mod authors, "Neanka and Valdacil and Old Nick and ParasiteX and sekoms", because this isn't even really a mod. It's just a preset for THEIR mod - their DEF_UI mod. This is just my own personal settings for that mod. I did not put in the work to make all the fancy HUD editing work, I just did the editing with the super user-friendly, easy tools that those dedicated mod authors provided me.
Now, I do deserve some credit. I'm a self-taught (and then professionally trained), professional graphic designer and artist and UI / UX designer since I was 10 years old. 18 years of designing fluid, user-friendly, uber-appealing user-interfaces. So this preset was created with my experience and knowledge.
But the ABILITY to create this preset was provided by the wonderful modders, Neanka and Valdacil and Old Nick and ParasiteX and sekoms (as stated on the mod page).

This mod is intended for 16:9 resolutions. That includes 1920x1080. If your height divided by width = 1080 / 1920, then this mod will work!
If the mod asks you to overwrite a file, then that file is DEF_HUD.xml, and you should click "Yes" or "Accept" or whichever button allows the overwrite. The mod will not work without it, because you won't be using the mod's file then.
If you have questions about my tips or want a detailed explanation on how to edit this preset for yourself, please refer to the file included in this mod called Instructions for the Wise. I will also upload it into this mod's page either in a Readme section or Forum section or both. [You can find the file and its text in the Docs section.] Check there if you have questions.
I hope this cleaner, neater HUD serves you well, and as always, happy modding!
Announcement: I have a Nice Looking Nora Preset coming soon, as well as a Nifty Looking ENB (based on NAC and Film Workshop). I also plan on uploading a Handy Hotkeys mod as an intuitive, useful add-on for FO4 Hotkeys that makes the mod a bit simpler and cleaner to use and easier to learn as well! Stay tuned.
