If you're new to fallout 4 and mods are forcing you to download awkcr or armorsmith extended, trust me never download them, these mods greatly affects your performance, increases loading screen, and causes unwanted crashes. You won't notice what I'm saying at the start of the playthrough, as the game goes on and on you will see. Even if you have a good pc or graphic card this s#*! still happens.
Honestly I think it more of a hate cult rather than AWKCR being a serious problem. I've used AWKCR since forever. Consider it a requirement to play Fallout 4 anymore.
1. Loading times are an issue regardless which is why mods exist that make loading almost instantaneous for SSDs. Making that complaint kind or irrelevant if true. Takes me seconds to load with performance boosting mods implying the game itself is borked. 2. Performance issues and stability, honestly have not noticed it as a problem. Even before AWKCR existed random crashes still happened. It's a Bethesda game after all. Performance wise have not noticed any issues. Unlike Scrap Everything which makes the FPS drop dramatically in some areas of the map. Yet still use that on some playthroughs.
These are fantastic. Why isn't this rated higher? It's one of the better 4K textures I've seen. I absolutely love the denim texture and I'm personally not a denim fan! My only small criticism is that the matte black trim looks a little more olive green next to the dark denim. but with so many other options, it's not that big a deal. Nice job, though. Thank you!
I don't use it personally because I absolutely cannot figure out how to remove the suits from the leveled lists without deleting them entirely from the mod.
I don't know if you do requests, but if you do, I'd love to see the two tone colors expanded, especially the blue / other color variety. I love to use this mod to differentiate different jobs / classes in my Vaults, and always use the blue to signify that its still vault tec related. But a blue / green, blue / orange, blue / purple would add so much. Anyway, love all the work you do, your work adds so much visually that keeps the game interesting for continued playthroughs!
I have been trying to figure out a conflict all week, and finally narrowed down my problem. I was trying out Equipment and Crafting Overhaul (ECO) - the editing menus from that mod were controlling the clothing editing on the armor station so I never got the color swap options from this mod.
Figured I would share this in case it helps anyone out that can't figure out why they can't edit their vault suits. Odds are if you don't see the color swaps, something might be taking over the menu despite what you see in sort order or conflict detection.
For now, I'm going back to Crafting Framework. If anyone has any suggestions for trying to resolve the conflict myself, let me know. I'm willing to muck around and maybe learn a little more about mods in the process.
Yes, ECO and AWKCR have MAJOR conflicts as both are editing Armor records. Because AWKCR is an .esm and ECO is a .esp, and .esm always load before .esp, ECO will always overwrite the armor forms removing the color swapping framework put in place by AWKCR.
I have a Stand Alone Clothing/Armor Color swapping Framework in the works and I do plan on having a compatibility patch with ECO, But although rather easy thing to implement it is just lots of tedious work editing the hundreds of Armor records, then re-edting them to be compatible with ECO. So it might be a while before it is ready to be released.
Thanks - I don't remember coming across anything about the esm / esp enforced priority. So, that's a useful tip for sure. I did expect there to be some kind of conflict going on, but I wasn't aware just how deep into the different mods I would have to look in order to start to understand the scale of what was going on. I have been using this as a chance to start using and learning FO4Edit - so what you said about the number of records is completely understandable. Tedious sounds like the right way to describe what I have seen so far. I might actually have to spend a little time looking at the scripting engine and see if I can learn anything there.
Hey, this mod has spontaneously stopped working. Reinstalls of both the mod and fo4 have failed to restart it. I can see the OMODs using help but can't modify them into vault suits.
The Proto Vault Suit is just a retexture of the Vanilla Vault Suit. This mod does not replace the Vanilla Vault Suit, but adds new color variations. SO if you do still have the Proto Vault Suit mod installed then it will use that texture in place of any Vault Suits still using the Vanilla color.

They are in the Object Modification dropdown in XEdit, and the Form ID starts with "modcol_"
