For anyone else wondering, it seems the UFO4P does not address this bug (AFKTrack Issue) and UFO4P v2.1.4 does not directly conflict with this in xEdit.
The reason given by Arthmoor on June 29th, 2022 was "This isn't something we can address - it's an engine issue." This mod fixes it by removing the Keyword VATSWeaponLongBurst from the Flamer and Flamer Barrel. It's possible Arthmoor didn't think of removing the keyword, or it could be that doing so has some unintended or unknown side-effect. I've not looked into it beyond finding the AFKTrack issue, and Arthmoor didn't elaborate there.
I'd like to request this as an ESL. Would do it myself but for some reason every time in the past I've tried the ESL conversion option it breaks functionality.
Process seems really straightforward but somehow things go wrong for me. In Creation Kit load ESP and go to File menu -> "Compact Records"(you might not have to do this step for this mod). Then also in File menu there's "Convert to Light Master" which saves an ESL. But for some reason when I tried with settlement mod I made it breaks functionality. I don't know if there's technical things to keep in mind when doing this, reasons why the resulting ESL might not work but after trying it for my mod I suspect there is.
Will give it a quick try since feeling a bit bored.
I advise reducing ESP count where possible, for a mod like this I would suggest just one ESP containing both fixes. Ideally ESL is best if can be done as it's an easier decision to install a mod if it won't count towards the 255 active plugin limit. For ESPs I usually have to get rid of an existing mod in order to install new ones.
Confirmed the ESL procedure works. All that's needed is opening it in CK, going to file menu -> "Convert to Light Master". Am now using this mod as an ESL and it is working correctly. Endorsed.
Thanks for this mod which eliminates the bug while using the flame thrower; p, my character many times died because of this error especially when using VATS. but the Vats mode has a very shortened time than normal when playing without mod, but you can not have everything;)
I didn't know this bug ever existed, but I'm glad I found this fix. I was about to start heavy weapons character and planned on using the flamer and vats. Excited to check this out in xedit to see what the bug was. Thanks!
