Converting mods to ESL: If you convert your mod to an esl file you also need to update the mod file name in the quest properties (see tutorial) or your mod will NOT work.
The mod disables itself, is missing in mod manager, doesn't work, can't find holotape in chem bench: Version 0.1.5 was created with a newer version of the game and therefore has a different file header version number than previous versions. You must either upgrade your game to run the mod or change the file header version yourself. No support beyond the help image in image section will be given for outdated versions of the game. It's generally best to run the latest version of the game.
Some currently unknown mod is using a bad injection script with an outdated menu formlist that is breaking the Creation Club menu for users of that mod. We've added an additional option to the SMM holotape which can repair the missing Creation Club menu for those users. Craftable holotapes were also added to this update to make it easier for users who install SMM before vault exit to get a holotape.
If you have had a missing Creation Club menu please send me (damanding) a PM with the list of mods that you use so that I might hopefully be able to determine the mod breaking things and warn the mod author.
Sim Settlements and Workshop Framework If you use v1.1.11 or later of Workshop Framework then SMM is no longer required for the Sim Settlements custom menu. It will instead be injected by Workshop Framework. Workshop Framework will also automatically repair the workshop menu on every game load. SMM will still be required by other mods that utilize it. However mod authors now have the choice of using the script injection available with Workshop Framework instead of SMM.
Tutorial Thanks Whisper (Bionicyardiff on Nexus) has just created a very nicely done tutorial that covers the basics of how to make a workshop menu in general and how to add SMM to your mod in particular. It is now available as an optional download in the files tab. Please send him a kudos as thanks for his help!
This mod doesn't work for me, i ran the repair tool, uninstalled and reinstalled about 10 times, started a new clean game nothing works can someone help?
Hey Guys. I hope someone here can help me. Let me explain my problem:
After a while, i came back playing Fallout 4, i have not updated to "Nex Gen". But after a while i noticed issues with some lights from the Homemaker mod, lights seem to emit light in their area but there's no light at the center/bulb. All the vanilla lights and other mod lights look fine. So, i was going to make a refresh install - noticed a new version (1.76) and the new requirement: the SMM mod. So, i first installed SMM, then the new Homemaker 1.76. The issue with lights was not gone, so i wanted to check some other lights - but now the Vanilla "lights"-category in the "power"-menu is gone. I now, there is a new one in the Homemaker-menu, but there are any lamps not shown in the menu - for example the "industrial wall light" and some of my other lights from other mods which i always had in the vanilla-category.
ALL of this didn`t help and brought me back the vanilla "lights"-category to my workshop menu. Ok, that wouldn`t be very dramatic since there is a category for it in the Homemaker-Menu. But there are not ALL of the lights i had before.
EDIT: nevermind - i think i solved it... there was an old mod installed, the OC Decorator with many patches, so i deactivated it all, and now everything seems to work fine. Sorry, i totally forgot this old mod.
Out of the dozens (hundreds? who can count?) of people who have messaged about old versions of the game you're the first person to have mentioned VR. All other instances were piracy. No offense intended. You're an outlier. This is your struggle.
Looks like VR is using a pre-ESL support version of the game. That's the problem. Nothing I can do about it unfortunately.
The strange thing is it *used* to work, I remember using it a year or two ago because my old save still has props in my settlement from a weapon rack mod that depends on SMM. I have no idea what changed either, I even remember having the SMM holotape in my inventory for the longest time.
The VR port is a bit of a nightmare so I did get Buffout4, perhaps in the process it broke this mod, who knows. ;v;
I have been getting an itch for more FO4 VR so i'm going to try and see if i can get it working, apologies for assuming the worst btw, i figured a lot of the people complaining were also on VR. If I'm the only one to mention it, I mustve done something to break it.
i only just got the notifications for this so i thought i'd reply lol
version was downgraded to play with some mods that weren't updated (at the time) to the latest version. you shouldn't assume piracy just because its an outdated version. there are collections on the nexus that require you to downgrade to the version i was on lmao
I got this mod for the Settler Built Settlements mod, and tried everything I could think of to get it to work, but every time I try to download Settler Built Settlements, It says that I haven't downloaded this mod, I am at a loss for what to do.
HI. Sorry to be a pain but could you please make a patch so SMM will run with Fallout 4 VR ? I would really appreciate it as I want to run some mods that require SMM. Thanking you in advance for even reading this. Pete...
Update...... No Worries I got it working with VR and was able to craft the holotape, not had to use it yet but the mod I installed that required it now shows up in my build menu

Should I just rename the mod name to have a version number? Or is there a better way to handle this so people don't need a new save?
Edit: Renaming the mod name didn't do it.

not shown in the menu - for example the "industrial wall light" and some
of my other lights from other mods which i always had in the
vanilla-category.
So, i was looking for a solution:
I checked and run the "Menu-fixer" tools from both mods (from the
SMM-holotape and the optional "menu-fixer" file from Homemaker)
This didn`t help.
I found some other tools:
Missing Settlement Categories Fix
Workshop Menu Missing Tabs Fix
and Workshop Menu Fixer
ALL of this didn`t help and brought me back the vanilla "lights"-category to my workshop menu.
