Thank you for your work stewie, personally I much prefer playing fallout 3 standalone rather than with TTW and your mods have helped a lot with that over the years.
Hi all ) . Firstly, I would like to thank you for making so many improvements to the stability of the game. The difference is colossal. And now the question because of this log: plugin D:\Fallout 3 GOTY\Data\FOSE\Plugins\\ActorCauseSaveBloatFix.dll (00000001 ActorCauseSaveBloatFix 00000001) reported incompatibility while checking requests plugin D:\Fallout 3 GOTY\Data\FOSE\Plugins\\CommandExtender.dllIs Is this very critical? All others load correctly. O) . Miracles, and nothing more ... Now everything works fine. In the log all the dlls are shown as correctly loaded.
I'm super grateful you are keeping with the tiny pool that is FO3 moding!
It's funny. I kinda used to despise fo3 and was hardcore on New Vegas. but after giving it a try with your fixes and FOSE and other improvement mods, its been a blast.
Most mods for FNV/TTW don't get ported to Fallout 3 not out of spite, but because FOSE is a lot more limited compared to NVSE.A lot of the scripting functions just do not exist making it either very hard or impossible to backport certain mods.
Save bloat fix is a bad example because it edits game code rather than relying on scripts, but the point still stands. Tools are far more limited in Fallout 3. And TTW makes it largely redundant anyways.
Redundant? I'd almost argue the exact opposite! TTW brings a lot of unwelcome baggage from FNV, like silly timed healing & stats thereof (as if 15 secs is somehow more "realistic" than FO3). Then there's the ridiculous 60+ unnecessary FNV ammo variants and their crafting, allowing you to pull ammo out your arse in an instant from pencil lead and instantly reliably handcraft vasy amounts of high precision ammo, etc, but in the meantime filling up your item & vendor menus with thousands of silly ingredients and extra-anus stuff. Then there's the problem that in TTW after getting through DC you're at a god-high overpowered level by the time you reach Vegas. Then there's oddities like the changes to flamethrowers which don't feel as useful in FNV/TTW. Then there's all the great older FO3 mods that simply won't work in TTW - hell, even many older TTW mods won't work in the newer TTWs. The only reason to use TTW instead of FO3 is if you somehow struggle to get FO3 playing smoothly in Win10/11 but find that your FNV does work well for you. The only other significant past benefit of TTW was that it brought native ironsights to DC, but if you really need it that's since been backported from FNV directly into FO3 itself by Iron Sights Plus.
Yeah you don't like TTW that's great, but your thoughts on FNV's mechanics are irrelevant to my point. With TTW you can utilize the FO3 worldspace while taking full advantage of FNV's more robust script extenders. That's why you don't see a lot of mods for Fallout 3 anymore, and your thoughts on TTW or FNV aren't going to change that.
I don't get your message entirely but for me this works as in the size of the saves are the same but my machine runs like a teen horse surrounded by willing meres :) Happy holidays to y'all.
Perhaps I could explain it: I'm sure you'd agree the word "just" depends not only on context but also spoken emphasis/inflexion. What I'm joking about is the meaning of "just works" here isn't meant as in "hey, no matter what, turn it on and it just works brilliantly" but instead as in "this thing is supposed to be the best available but it only just works" (i.e., it works, but only barely). Hope that helps.

Any chance to port "KNVSE" into FOSE?

I just removed what I posted, because I don't want to get someone irritated for no reason.
