In the year 2077, there was a rumor being spread all around Vault-Tec. Many speculated that it was just nonsense, but there were some who fed into the rumors. They called it the "Mysterious Weapon." No one really knew what this so called "Mysterious Weapon" even was. What was it capable of? Who made it? Could it prove in battle? In the war?

Long ago, just before the "Great War" of 2077, there was a rumor spread of a weapon that could change everything. It was said to be invaluable, and that it could be compared to the work of Oppenheimer. No one really knew where it was or even what it was, just that it a feat of technology. There were even rumors of research being done on the "Mysterious Weapon" at Big Mountain in California. This could mean a change in the tides of war! Maybe there was hope. Maybe the Red Dawn was to be nothing more than a story for children...
