I appreciate your patience, and I thank you for your feedback.

*Update* January 12th 2021 - I just learned what I was doing wrong that prevented this mod from working with ENBs. There is a sneak peak screenshot of the first thing I got working (it's a metro awning, my baby). I am in the process of redoing everything, from the ground up in many circumstances, to make everything compatible with ENBs. I am performing all of my testing using the Enhanced Shaders ENB presets on the ultra settings.

*Update* January 10th 2021 - Version 1.3 brings new meshes for the Metro Awnings. I have been working to put rubble and other debris behind the windows of the buildingkit meshes. I have working prototypes for one of the buildingkits finished, but I chose not to include them with this update because I was learning while I made them and I know I can do better now. These are the first phase of my upcoming update which will put all sorts of crap behind the glass windows for you to enjoy. I've just learned a faster, simpler way to modify meshes, so brace yourselves for more.
I decided I wasnt happy with the hard stepping in the edge of the broken glass and other similarly translucent objects in the upscaled textures so I set about smoothing the edges of every texture that I felt could benefit from it. The alpha channel is now multi colored and a smeared propagated version of the edge instead of green. This should have the effect of further enhancing the edges of broken glass. Also, I have brought all the textures up to at least 2048x on a side. Previously, I had just blanket 2x upscaled all the textures, but I went back and further upscaled those that were still small and tried to make them more vivid.
I have also scratch made a new texture for distantstructures01.dds Contrary to the name, this is the texture that the game jams into every single building near or far. It was previously only a 256x256 file, for the performance pack I have made a 512x512 version which still GREATLY enhances the texture. For the upscale pack it is 1024x1024. Though this texture contains no glass, it further beautifies the glass buildings, and seems to have been overlooked by all the popular texture packs. Fun fact: this awful 256x256 texture is also present in the FO4 creation club GNR thing where you get the FO3 merc armor and dont get 3dog voice acting, and it looks bad there too.
There is another texture, suburbanhardware.dds which puts a metal mesh on the bus stop awnings, I removed the stepping from that as well. See the screenshots for the difference.
Lastly, I was of the opinion that the glass on the most common buildings and the metro awnings was glowing too brightly with no light source in the vanilla game so I have reduced this glow effect by about half. This affects the same things as the optional glass texture.

When updating replace the old version, don't merge. I am also removing useless meshes with each of these updates which could cause problems down the line for you if you keep them around.

The optional animated buses mod will get another update to finish adding doors sometime soon after the new TTW version.

TTW users you may not realize, but you need to download the FO3 Translucency Overhaul as well as the NV Translucency Overhaul and merge them into a single package. The overlapping files are identical.

I'm desperate, I really need this mod to work, I love your screenshots...

I've installed the 2X version with and without more transluency with NMM, also tried installing it manual, but nothing, I mean I can see the new textures,, but nothing else :(
So if the textures is changed, the issue must somehow be the meshes ?
Tested it on Falls Church Metro station, the metro cars, the broken windows and the roof looks vanilla ???
The animated busreplacer works fine though...

So sad, I really hope for some help...

Howdy, I am sorry for the late reply!

I need more info to help, screenshots are extremely helpful, but I can give you a few tips as jumping off points.

      • Load FO3 Translucency Overhaul AFTER all other texture related mods. Loose textures and meshes without an accompanying ESP can be loaded willy nilly depending on your mod program. To control the load order of FO3 Translucency Overhaul more conveniently, because you are also using the bus mod, you can use the AnimatedBus.esp. To do so, copy the textures and meshes folders in the FO3 Translucency Overhaul folder and put them in the same folder as your AnimatedBus.esp mod. Then, disable the FO3 Translucency Overhaul mod, and put the animatedbus.esp as near the bottom of your load order as you can. (Alternatively, you can use a dummy .esp placed in the FO3 Translucency Overhaul folder.)
      • This mod is not compatible with ENB presets at present (v1.4 will change that). This is because ENBs require you to modify your fallout.ini. Check in your .ini files that you have this setting set to 1. You can add this line to your FalloutCustom.ini
        bTransparencyMultisampling=1
      • Have you tried toggling Archive Invalidation off then on again? This is one of those solutions that everyone hates to be reminded is a
possibility because it seems so elementary. However, this is OFTEN the solution to the problem whether people like to admit it or not!

I hope this helps. If not, let me know and we can try some other stuff.

      Don't be sorry, I appreciate a helpfull answer :)
But unfortunately after tried your proposals, I'm still without translucent glass...
I don't use an Enb just reshade, and bTransparencyMultisampling=1 was ok.
I'm not used to loose files that don't show up, I overwrite all conflicting files, and I just tried Semitransparent Door Glass, with no problems.
Archive Invalidation has been tried several times, and  with the different versions, every thing else seems to show up ??

I really hate to let your wonderfull mod go, so I hope you have other possible solutions, this is weird...

Thanks anyway mate, truly appreciate any help :)

So far out in the game world and with what I have noticed so far, visually this is a VERY IMPRESSIVE mod. It adds beauty and translucency to the wasteland. From bus windows to even smaller pieces this covers it all. I really like this mod, thank you.

    Kudos and endorsements.

I found a bugged mesh: Nukalamp01.nif causes a crash when entering a cell which contains this item. This is the case with  both, the performance and the upscale file. The files can't be opened with GECK. Please check the files

hmm that's disappointing. thanks for letting me know I will look into it.

Updated* I've removed the nukalamp mesh from the download file for both packages in v1.2b.

I've noticed that the more/translucent optional files don't have the right file paths to be installed correctly through a mod manager. For example, the More Translucent Upscale gets installed as Data\more translucent upscale\windowsquad01.dds.

Whoops! Sorry about that! I will upload a new one, but until then for those who need directions just drop that file into textures\architecture\urban in the main translucency mod folder and replace the file.

Fixed in v1.2! Thank you for pointing this out!

I have this mod set to load after NMC's but it still isn't working. I'm using Vortex MM and don't see any plugins coming from this mod. Is that not supposed to happen?

Both mods, FO 3 Translucency Overhaul ... and NMC, do not have a"plugin" (esp or esm). These mods are only listed in Vortex/Mods
      tab.
If you have given the FO 3 Translucency Overhaul files priority by setting "load after", "save" and "deploy" all should be fine, the pertaining FO 3 TO textures should be displayed in game. That works at least on my end.

Thank you zcul for providing Vortex directions!

There is no ESP, unless you downloaded the optional file for the buses and merged the two at the time of installation.

Looking forward to downloading when I get home from work. I’m assuming just load this after any world space  texture mods? I’m running NMC and 4k capitol wastescapes

Yep load after. This mod includes some textures for walls that include windows now. You may find that your old texture packs did a better job with the wall itself. My walls are not 4k. Try to remember this mod is 1 week old, and is not presently what I would consider completely finished. I'm gonna provide some directions here as a resource for people to remove what they don't like. Estimated time required ~2 minutes.

In your mod manager, (i use MO2, these are MO2 directions) right click my mod and click Information, then click on the tab Conflicts. In this tab it will show you which textures are coming from my mod, and which textures my mod is overwriting from your current texture packs. It will also tell you the exact directory of these textures within my mod folder. For example /textures/architecture/urban/OffensiveTexture.dds

Now that you have the location, right click my mod again in your mod organizer, and click Open in Explorer. Now trace through the folders to the corresponding files you find that you don't like and delete the hell out of them.

I hope this is helpful. Have fun!
