A re-Launch of the now completed Housing 101 project with over 100 player houses, in the Wasteland, DC downtown areas, Point Outlook and The Pitt.

There are also new doctors, traders, BoS bases, Ranger bases, patrols, 5 new bridges rebuilt.

Intro:

I started this project with the idea of building player housing all over the wasteland. So far I've completed work in all of the
downtown maps, the Wasteland, The Pitt and Point Lookout.  See the maps for locations. They are marked with a yellow C or a circle for the Downtown maps.

The design philosophy I had was:
  • It must be LORE friendly!
  • Must not be inside buildings so as to be compatible with interiors mods (I made only 4 exceptions to this).
  • No mansions, just cobbled together homes that look like a player/character built them from what was available.
  • Some are simple overnight type of shelters or sleeping places.
  • Some are a bit better, more of a long term place to live.
  • A select few are better off homes, more established with more features.
  • I've avoided building camps in areas raiders, slavers or Supermutants might be, because that's what characters would do if FO3 was real.
  • I've hidden camps often, because that's what characters would do.

I have included many map markers, which are in the format:
HP101-Area-Name-Rating-w for if it has water.

An example might be:
HP101-S-RoadCap-R3-W  Meaning it is in the south of the map, it would have a bed, food, a gun and have water (a permanent water source, not just bottled water).

Not all player houses have map markers though.

Requires all 5 DLCs!

Housing Project 101. Previous versions

Version 2.
  • Adds a lot more player homes
  • Adds a couple of large BoS outposts in Springfield (Not SpringVale)
  • Enlarges "Oblivion" homestead to be two stories.
  • Adds the contents of my Mods LakeShack and Pond shelter to the mod
  • Built a "Western Portal" and a road to the west.
  • Created a hidden army camp where the remains of the military shelter from the enemy and run patrols to protect the local civillians.

Version 5  (Version 3 and 4 were intermediate changes included in V5)
HousingProject101v5.zip
  • Now requires all 5 DLCs
  • Adds more player housing. There is now almost 100 player houses throughout the Wasteland and DC
  • Turns 3 town ruins sections into populated towns these include Faded Pomp Estates, Twilight Grove and Springfield / Calverton.
  • Adds a doctor and nurse to Faded Pomp Estates
  • Adds the content of my OasisLakeShelters village to the Mod. This town has two doctors, a nurse, a trader and a work shop.
  • Adds the content of my Roosevelt High School Subway and modifies the entrance in Faded Pomp Estate so it can be accessed easier.
  • Added some more BoS and Outcast guard posts and patrols.
  • Turns most of Georgetown into a "safe" zone with several NPCs living there.
  • Adds the content of Riley's Outpost to Georgetown and a Reilley's Ranger's patrol to reduce impact of the Super Mutants there. I did want to leave them as is, but the Muties kept blowing up things I didn't want blown up. There is a doctor located here but he some times runs away when the Muties attack.
  • Added the content of my mod Bridgefix1 and a couple of new NPCs who run a patrol to Big Town and Arefu.
  • Added most of the content of my mod LL2BT mod; the house at 5 Ways and the Brahmin Shack player house.
  • Added a small BoS outpost at the North East corner of Big Town and a couple of extra guards in Big Town to try defend them from Muties.
  • Adds the content of my Fairfax House - Regulator Outpost to the mod and created a patrol in the area. This house has a doctor there.
  • Copied most of the content of my Trapper House mod to the mod but removed most of the traps so it can be enjoyed more and be used as player housing.
  • Added 3 houses in boats, 2 near Rivet City and one well off shore.
  • Built a small medical center north of Friendship Heights subway entrance.
  • Built a small BoS outpost in the south west corner at the Rockland Car tunnel. Added a patrol to the Dunwich building and 2 small NPC communities.
  • Reduced radiation in several lakes and bogs. Added several water purification / de-nuking places so there can be an increased amount of purified water at camps / villages. I know this kind of modifies the game, but I needed a Lore friendly way for NPCs to have access to more water.
  • Created water and food stalls in a couple of camps.
  • Built a couple more roads where tracks run that look like they were once roads.
  • Populated some of the towns and camps, but most camps are unpopulated. You can remove NPCs using the console commands.
  • Hid $65,000 worth of pre-war money in an unlikly location.
  • Hid $20,000 worth of pre-war money in a suit case.
  • Accidentally set type 1 and 3 cars to not explode. While personally I like this, others may find it annoying. Trying to figure out how to change that back.
  • Tested it with The DC Interiors Project  https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/5573 and made some minor modifications to ensure good compatibility.
  • Lots more minor changes and player housing.

Version 6
  • Adds the content of my Hamilton's Hideaway Player Home mod.
  • Created an interesting trail of arrows to follow.
  • Fixed bug where Brotherhood guards get stuck in floor of guard houses except in one place, by moving them out of heir guard house.
  • Made BoS guards in Big Town run a patrol to get them out of the floor.
  • Built 3 footbridges to cross difficult bridge gaps. Gaps I kept getting stuck in. Looks super LORE friendly though.
Version 7
  • Did more work on the bridges and a patrol over one between Roosevelt Academy and 5 Axles Rest Stop.
  • Built a low level bridge near the high level bridge above.
  • Built some more bridges and cleared up roads a bit so in theory the BoS could do supply runs.
  • Created a small "safe place" evacuation point near GermanTown police station with a nice back story.
  • Minor quality control fixes.

Version 8 - This version
  • Built some more bridges over rivers because hey, why not. Lore friendly though, they look ramshackle.
  • Started building some accommodation in Point Lookout. Added rooms to the Motel to stay in. Room 1B. Built a small army HQ there. You can raid them for weapons and they won't bat an eyelid. Also has a doctor there.
  • Made a camper and a couple of sheds into layer homes in Point Lookout.
  • Built a couple of player homes in The Pitt off of the market square. Follow the alley around to the left of Midea's house and you should see a door in a glass window. That home is basic and occupied by 3 quiet slaves. There's another home really close by but hard to find.

28/05/2019 - Fixed a minor bug in Motel Room 1E with the doors. Also relocated the doctor into the basement because she kept running away. Uploaded updated file.
Future versions:
I'll only be releasing bug fixes if there are any. I now consider this mod to be finished unless anyone comes up with some really brilliant ideas to make it better.

:: FEATURES ::
See above; LOTS of player housing.

:: GENERAL OTHER STUFF ::

::  KNOWN ISSUES ::
Replaces Housing Project 101. Remove that before installing this. If you have anything stored in a container of one of the player houses, remove that stuff first.
I have incorporated several of my previous mods into this mod so you can de-install those if you have them. See the version details.
It modifies the Motel in Point Lookout so you may want to order this before or after those depending if you like them or not.
