"If you are using the smaller file size / less cpu intensive version of the sounds this will still work, as the file names are the same. As for the file size for the thunder sounds I wouldn't worry too much, as they are far in between and short in duration." ----------------------------- But the whole point of that mod's performance files was to reduce load & FPS drop mainly for those few moments when the thunder occurs!
Of course, a bigger problem is the heavier rain that hits with it. I've not yet figured how to remove the heavy rain/storms entirely (mainly for preference than performance), but for folks struggling with storms they can try this anti-cpu stress submod. And if you suffer from an odd bug (I've never had) where you can run the weather tests with the holotape but can't get them to start normally, there's this reboot fix to try.
Yes, this will work with Dynamic Weather, by Xepha. Curious, did you redo the sound files for the interiors sounds? I didn't see any mention of it on the description page.
No I did not, I may in the future. I only got the Enhanced Weather mod today and just thought the thunder sound was a little weak, I don't think I've even heard it inside yet so (in-game that is). I was thinking about doing the inside sounds but I couldn't decide how I wanted to do it. Of course the inside sounds are the same as the outside but more muffled, but I don't know if more bass would help or not. If you like, go ahead and test out the mod and let me know what you think, and if you'd like me to do something with the interior sounds I will.
I was playing with my BOSE mini speakers, which are great. I decided to play with my Alienware headphones on and could totally tell the difference. In fact the whole game is better with my headphones on. More dynamic.
Right on man! Upon playing with the weather mod for a while I decided that it wouldn't really change much to rework the interior sounds, as they are already bass heavy. Those along with the low ambient "whooshing" at the start of tunnels would be too much. I appreciate the kudos friend! Check out my two new mods for the Laser Weapons
