ARE YOU HAVING ISSUES GETTING THIS TO WORK?
    Possible solutions:
    1. see the troubleshooting masterlist at the bottom of the linked description (click the red text!)
    2. if your issue is with one of the hair texture slider files & the above has not helped, see this comment! (click the red text!)

WHAT TO DO IF YOU'VE TRIED EVERYTHING ABOVE AND ARE STILL HAVING ISSUES (if it's just a simple question you have, you don't need to answer all this):

    • Read the rest of the description or through previous comments, you might find your answer there. If not...
    • Tell me which specific files you were having issues with, what version of the file you were using (V1, V2, V3, etc), and which mod manager(s) you are using.
    • Tell me which DLC it was you were having an issue with, if applicable.
    • If loading other mods, please tell me all the other mods you were loading, and through which mod managers. You can just link to a screenshot of your mods list to save time.
    • These last bits are optional, but would help me to help you more if you could give me this information: tell me which area and point you were at in the DLC where you were having this issue, and which companions you had with you, if applicable.

    Thank you! <3

HOW TO INSTALL THE HAIR TEXTURE SLIDER FILES

For those of you who are using DAI MOD MANAGER and don't plan to use enhanced character creation:
    Spoiler:
    Show
    1) Click this link to download the "Dai Mod Manager Hair H and Hair Texture Slider in CC" file.

    2) This next step is OPTIONAL, but if you would rather the new slider be labelled "Hair Texture" instead of "Hair Stubble" in character creation, download this file too.

Be aware that that file may cause crafted items to use the wrong names if you use the default names for them, however, you can rename the items yourself when crafting them if you want to avoid that issue. Otherwise, you can just skip that file, it's not mandatory.

    3) Install the mod(s) as you would any other daimod.

    4) Make sure that whilst merging your mods that you don't see any errors that say something like "Warning: [name of some file path] from Hair H and Hair Texture Slider in CC has been overridden by [name of some other mod.]", or, "Warning: [name of some file path] from Relabelled Text for Hair Texture Slider has been overridden by [name of some other mod.]"

because this means that another one of your mods you are loading is conflicting with the slider and so will cause the edits not to work. If this happens to you, you should disable the mod that says it has overridden the texture slider, then remerge.

    5) Once you have entered the black emporium or the character creation in-game, the new hair texture slider will be located under the general tab, below the hairstyle slider, it will be labelled either "hair stubble" or "hair texture", you can move the slider across to try out different options. The additional hairstyle it adds to dwarves, elves and humans will be on the hairstyle slider, the 19th option.

PLEASE NOTE that the *regular* version of the hair texture slider from the main files alone will NOT fix the issue of modded hairs not using the right models in the black emporium. If you want that issue to be fixed, click here to install the file "Dai Mod Manager Black Emporium Fix" from the main files.

For those of you who are using DAI MOD MANAGER and WANT TO USE ENHANCED CHARACTER CREATION:
    Spoiler:
    Show
    1) If you have any of the following files from the enhanced character creation page, please UNINSTALL (disable) them:
    Enhanced Inquisitors Colors
    Enhanced Inquisitor Sliders
    Enhanced Character Creation Lite
    Enhanced Character Creation Complete
    Enhanced Character Creation Reduced
    Enhanced Character Creation Version 7.0
    Enhanced Characters Creation Version 7.1

Similarily, if you have any of the following files from my modded hair in DLCs page, which you’re on now, please also UNINSTALL (disable) them:
Relabelled Text for Hair Texture Slider
Hair H and Hair Texture Slider in CC
Dai Mod Manager Black Emporium Fix

Uninstalling those files is necessary as you have to use special versions of the hair texture slider and enhanced character creation for them to work together, if you have those other files I named installed with them then they will clash and not work. Plus all the features of those named files are already included in the files you’re about to download, so there’s no need to have both.
    2) Click this link to download the "Dai Mod Manager Hair Texture Slider and BE fix ECC Compatibility Patch" file.
    3) Click here to download
"Enhanced Character Creation CUSTOM HAIR PATCH - DAIMOD" from the enhanced character creation page.
    4) Install all the mods as you would any other mod. Be sure to install both files that are contained within the .rar file for the enhanced character creation mod, once you've extracted all the mods from both pages you should have the following files, you should install all of them:
Enhanced Character Creation CUSTOM HAIR PATCH.daimod
    Enhanced Character Creation SLIDERS-a.daimod
Hair Texture Slider and BE Fix ECC Compatibility Patch.daimod
    5) Make sure that whilst merging your mods that you don't see any errors that say something like "Warning: [name of some file path] from Hair Texture Slider and BE Fix ECC Compatibility Patch/Enhanced Character Creation CUSTOM HAIR PATCH/Enhanced Character Creation SLIDERS-a has been overridden by [name of some other mod.]", because this means that another one of your mods you are loading is conflicting with the slider and so will cause the edits not to work. If this happens to you, you should disable the mod that says it has overridden the texture slider, then remerge.
    6) In CC, the new hair texture slider will be located under the hair tab, below the hairstyle slider, it will be labelled "hair texture", you can move the slider across to try out different options. The additional hairstyle for dwarves, elves and humans was already included in enhanced character creation, it will be on the hairstyle slider somewhere.

For those of you who are using FROSTY MOD MANAGER and don't plan to use enhanced character creation:
    Spoiler:
    Show
    1) If you plan on using any custom hair texture mods from the misc hairstyles for frosty or the miscellaneous files of the Anto hairstyles for DA:I pages, import and apply those mods. If you do (they aren't a requirement), only install ONE custom hair texture mod from one of those pages, as they will conflict otherwise.

If you have a file called "Hair H added to character creator.fbmod", please DO NOT install that specific file, because the slider already adds this hair to the character creator so you don't need it, and if you use that specific file that I named at the same time, it will override the edits to the slider. You CAN install mods that REPLACE the hairstyle of hair H, just don't use that "Hair H added to character creator.fbmod" file.

Also, you don't need the "Compatibility patch for Enhanced Inquisitor Sliders mod and HF hair H mods" file from the misc hairstyles for frosty page with this mod, either.

    2) Click here to download the file "Frosty Mod Manager Hair H and Hair Texture Slider (allows you to view custom hair texture mods as expected in CC and BE)".

    3) This next step is OPTIONAL, but if you would rather the new slider be labelled "Hair Texture" instead of "Hair Stubble" in character creation, download this file too. Be aware that that file may cause crafted items to use the wrong names if you use the default names for them, however, you can rename the items yourself when crafting them if you want to avoid that issue. Otherwise, you can just skip that file, it's not mandatory.

    4) If you downloaded the file from step 3 (you don't have to), be sure to extract it with some unzipping program of your choice.

I recommend peazip, with that program installed, right click on the .RAR file you got from the enhanced character creation page, hover over where it says PeaZip in the menu, then select "extract here." This will take the mods contained within that RAR file and deposit them into whatever folder you are currently inside, producing a file called "Relabelled Text for Hair Texture Slider.daimod."

    5) Import and apply the hair texture slider as normal, and optionally, the relabelled text for hair texture slider.daimod file if you chose to download that too (you don't have to use the text file if you don't want to.)

    6) If you are using any of the mods that I mentioned in step 1, this step is ESSENTIAL. If you are not using those mods, you can safely ignore this step.

Double check that in your applied mods list to the right half of the mod manager in frosty, that the mods are ordered as follows:

so, the hair texture slider goes BELOW whatever custom hair texture mod you are using if you are using any from the pages in step 1. this is IMPORTANT, as you will not get expected results otherwise.

if it isn't, you can simply left click on where it says "Hair H and Hair Texture Slider in CC" in the applied mods tab, then press the down arrow button that I highlighted in red in the image above, click it until the hair slider is placed BELOW your custom hair texture mod.

    7) Launch the game via the "launch" button in frosty mod manager.

    8) Once you have entered the black emporium or the character creation in-game, the new hair texture slider will be located under the general tab, below the hairstyle slider, it will be labelled "hair stubble", you can move the slider across to try out different options, until you find the one that suits your hair the best.

The additional hairstyle it adds to dwarves, elves and humans will be on the hairstyle slider, the 19th option.

PLEASE NOTE that the *regular* version of the hair texture slider from the main files alone will NOT fix the issue of some modded hairs not using the right models in the black emporium. If you want that issue to be fixed, you still need to download and install the file "Frosty Mod Manager Black Emporium Fix" from the main files.

The main purpose of the hair texture slider mod is so that if you are using hairs with custom textures like the ones I linked in step 1, then, after selecting the fourth option on the hair stubble slider, you can view the hairs with the proper textures in character creation and black emporium, instead of bald tufts, and also it should stop hairs with custom textures trying to force the texture on Hawke's and the inquisitors other hairs that they were not designed for, which used to sometimes result in bald tufts, depending on what hair you were using. To illustrate, here is the difference between a custom hair texture mod installed in CC without the mod, vs with the mod:

Whilst the mod is not REQUIRED for use with custom hair texture mods, it can compliment them nicely.

    9) Optionally, if once you get into game you are experiencing issues with the mod not working, I suggest checking the troubleshooting section of the description in the spoiler to check for anything you might have missed, but also check your conflicts tab, which is near the top of the right half of the mod manager, you can left click on it to view it.

If you see a conflict like this:

What's happening in this picture is the resources column is listing the file names and locations of all the files that are being edited by multiple mods at once, and are thus conflicting.

If you see nothing listed under the resources tab, so it's just a blank, dark grey space underneath where it says "resources", then you have no conflicts. But, in this example, we do have conflicts, as you can see, the files da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_straight_thick_d_morphbp and da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_straight_thick_n_morphbp are being edited by multiple mods.

You can tell which mods are both editing these files, as, under the name of the mod, you will see either a cross or a check mark that is in-line with file(s) named in the resources tab.

So in this case, both the Anto Amanda hair and the hair texture slider are editing those hair morphbp files I mentioned before. The cross marks underneath the Amanda hair indicate that the edits to those particular files from that mod are going to be overridden by another mod, the one with check marks next to the file names, in this case, it's going to be overridden by the hair texture slider.

Normally, you probably don't want conflicts, but the example I showed in the image is PERFECTLY OKAY. In fact, we *want* the hair texture slider to conflict with the custom hair texture mod, it was designed to do so, so that it can stop custom hair texture mods from trying to force the textures on hairs they were not designed for on Hawke and the inquisitor, which could in some cases cause bald tufts when using certain hairs, the hair texture slider should stop that from happening.

So, as long as the tick marks for the files I mentioned are UNDERNEATH the hair texture slider, you should be fine. If the tick marks are underneath the CUSTOM HAIR TEXTURE MOD instead, you are going to run into issues, it should be the other way round. Luckily, I've already told you how to get the tick marks under the hair texture slider in the previous steps, so it should be set up correctly already if you followed the steps properly. (that's why I stressed that you should load the slider BELOW the custom hair texture mod!)

PLEASE NOTE that if you see the hair texture slider conflicting with any other files BESIDES hair morphbp files (so anything BESIDES these files  -da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_straight_thick_d_morphbp, da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_straight_thick_n_morphbp, da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_wavy_thick_d_morphbp, or da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_wavy_thick_n_morphbp), then this WILL be an issue, and you should disable those conflicting mods.

For those of you who are using FROSTY MOD MANAGER and WANT TO USE ENHANCED CHARACTER CREATION:
    Spoiler:
    Show
     1) First, if you don't already have frosty 1.0.6 or above, which is required, click here to be brought to the frosty mod manager download page. If you already have frosty, but don't know which version you currently have, it should tell you in the top left corner of the mod manager.

    2) Secondly, click on the green download button to the very left side of the page, underneath where it says "mod manager."

    3) Make a new folder for your new frosty mod manager download, cut and paste the FrostyModManager.zip
     file you just downloaded in.

    4) Extract the FrostyModManager.zip file with an archive unzipping program of your choice, for example you could use a program like peazip, or 7-zip. To do so, right click on the .zip file, and depending on what archive unzipping program you're using, there is usually an option like "unzip here" or "extract here", or sometimes you have the name of the program in the menu e.g peazip and you have to hover it, and then you get the option for "extract here" or "unzip here." Press one of those buttons. This should take the files that were packaged inside the .zip file and place them in the folder you're currently inside.

    5) Proceed to set up frosty as you would normally, installing the programs in the prereqs folder, and pointing it to your game's .exe executable file.

    6) If you have any of the following files from the enhanced character creation page, please UNINSTALL (disable) them:
    Enhanced Inquisitors Colors
    Enhanced Inquisitor Sliders
    Enhanced Character Creation Lite
    Enhanced Character Creation Complete
    Enhanced Character Creation Reduced
    Enhanced Character Creation Version 7.0
    Enhanced Characters Creation Version 7.1

Similarily, if you have any of the following files from my modded hair in DLCs page, which you’re on now, please also UNINSTALL (disable) them:
Relabelled Text for Hair Texture Slider
Hair H and Hair Texture Slider in CC
Frosty Mod Manager Black Emporium Fix

Uninstalling those files is necessary as you have to use special versions of the hair texture slider and enhanced character creation for them to work together, if you have those other files I named installed with them then they will clash and not work. Plus all the features of those named files are already included in the files you’re about to download, so there’s no need to have both.

    7) Click here to download the file "Frosty Mod Manager Hair Texture Slider and BE fix ECC Compatibility Patch."

    8) Click here
download the file "Enhanced Character Creation CUSTOM HAIR PATCH - Frosty" from the enhanced character creation page.

    9) Extract the enhanced character creation with an archive unzipping program of your choice, I recommend peazip, with that program installed, right click on the .RAR file you got from the enhanced character creation page, hover over where it says PeaZip in the menu, then select "extract here." This will take the mods contained within that RAR file and deposit them into whatever folder you are currently inside, producing the following files:
Enhanced Character Creation CUSTOM HAIR PATCH.fbmod
    Enhanced Character Creation SLIDERS-a.daimod

This is an ESSENTIAL step, as frosty cannot detect when there are multiple mods contained within an archive file (which is what the .RAR file is), and it won't install all the mods if you just try to import the .RAR file.

    10) If you plan on using any custom hair texture mods from the misc hairstyles for frosty or  the miscellaneous files of Anto hairstyles for DA:I pages, please import and apply those mods first.

    11) Import and apply all the following mods into frosty mod manager, as you would any other mod:
Enhanced Character Creation CUSTOM HAIR PATCH
    Enhanced Character Creation SLIDERS-a
Hair Texture Slider and BE fix ECC Compatibility Patch

you can safely import the sliders-a file into frosty mod manager, despite it being a .daimod file, it should still import just fine. if it gives you a notification it was designed for a different patch, just hit okay and apply, it is fine.

    12) If you are using any of the mods that I mentioned in step 10, this step is ESSENTIAL. If you are not using those mods, you can safely ignore this step.

Double check that in your applied mods list to the right half of the mod manager in frosty, that the ECC compatibility patch is arranged as follows:

so, the ECC compatibility patch goes BELOW whatever custom hair texture mod you are using if you are using any from the pages in step 10. this is IMPORTANT, as you will not get expected results otherwise.

if it's not, you can simply left click on where it says "Hair Texture Slider and BE Fix ECC Compatibility Patch" in the applied mods tab, then press the down arrow button that I highlighted in red in the image above, click it until the ECC patch is placed BELOW your custom hair texture mod.

The placement of the Enhanced Character Creation CUSTOM HAIR PATCH and Enhanced Character Creation SLIDERS-a files in the applied mods list should not matter, only the placement of the ECC Compatibility Patch file.

    13) Launch the game via the "launch" button in frosty mod manager.

    14) Once you have entered the black emporium or the character creation in-game, the new hair texture slider will be located under the hair tab, below the hairstyle slider, it will be labelled "hair texture", you can move the slider across to try out different options, until you find the one that suits your hair the best.

The additional hairstyle for elves dwarves, and humans (Hair H) was already included in ECC, it will be somewhere on the hairstyle slider if you want to use that hair.

The main purpose of the hair texture slider mod is so that if you are using hairs with custom textures like the ones I linked in step 10, then, after selecting the fourth option on the hair texture slider, you can view the hairs with the proper textures in character creation and black emporium, instead of bald tufts, and also it should stop hairs with custom textures trying to force the texture on Hawke's and the inquisitors other hairs that they were not designed for, which used to sometimes result in bald tufts, depending on what hair you were using. To illustrate, here is the difference between a custom hair texture mod installed in CC without the mod, vs with the mod:

Whilst the mod is not REQUIRED for use with custom hair texture mods, it can compliment them nicely.

    15) Optionally, if once you get into game you are experiencing issues with the mod not working, I suggest checking the troubleshooting section of the description in the spoiler to check for anything you might have missed, but also check your actions tab to check for conflicting mods, which I detail down below. if non of that works, try using the daimod/dai mod manager versions of the mod instead, they can be loaded via frosty mod manager and still work on frosty hairs as long as you extract the mods first.

anyways, if you want to check for conflicts, the actions tab is near the top of the right half of the mod manager, you can left click on it to view it.

If you see any "R" symbols, like this:

this means that you have multiple mods that are editing the same exact files at once, and are thus conflicting.

In the above picture, we can see that the files
da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_straight_thick_d_morphbp and da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_straight_thick_n_morphbp are being edited by multiple mods, namely, the Anto Amanda hair, and the hair texture slider and BE fix ECC compatibility patch.

We know this because under the column for the Anto Amanda hair mod, there are "M" symbols in-line with those file names in the resource tab, meaning "this file is modified by this mod."

If you only see "M" symbols, and no "R" symbols, this means you have no conflicts, but in this picture, there are conflicts, as there are "R" symbols underneath the column for the hair texture slider and BE fix ECC compatibility patch.

This tells us that the edits to those straight thick files from the Anto Amanda hair are going to be overridden or replaced by the edits to those same files from the hair texture slider and BE fix ECC compatibility patch (hence the "R" symbols.)

If the R symbols were underneath the Amanda hair instead, this would mean that the edits to the straight thick files from the Anto Amanda hair was going to override the ones from the hair texture slider instead.

The file at the very top of the resources tab (the meshvariationdb_win32) is not being edited by multiple mods, we know this as there are no R symbols in-line with that files name. If you're confused, the "resource" tab in the frosty alpha is a little different from the 1.0.5.9 version, as it now lists every single file that is being edited in the resource section, rather than just the files that are conflicting.

So, as long as the R symbols for the files I mentioned are UNDERNEATH the hair texture slider, you should be fine. If the R symbols are underneath the CUSTOM HAIR TEXTURE MOD instead, you are going to run into issues, it should be the other way round. Luckily, I've already told you how to get the R symbols under the hair texture slider in the previous steps, so it should be set up correctly already if you followed the steps properly. (that's why I stressed that you should load the slider BELOW the custom hair texture mod!)

PLEASE NOTE that if you see the hair texture slider file or the Enhanced Character Creation CUSTOM HAIR PATCH and Enhanced Character Creation SLIDERS-a files conflicting with any other files BESIDES these hair morphbp files:
    da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_straight_thick_d_morphbp,
     da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_straight_thick_n_morphbp,
    da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_wavy_thick_d_morphbp, or da3/actors/baseheads/hair/textures/hair_wavy_thick_n_morphbp

then this WILL be an issue, and you should disable those conflicting mods.

P.S if you do not care about having the option to choose the appearance of the hair strands your inquisitor uses in the black emporium and character creation, then you DO NOT need the hair texture slider files, nor the ECC Compatibility Patch files from this page, nor the custom hair patch file from the enhanced character creation page.

You can just grab the regular versions of the fixes on my page, regardless of whether or not you are using enhanced character creation (which is also not required for any of the mods page except the ECC Compatibility Patch files, which were designed for people that want to have both the features of the hair texture slider AND the features of enhanced character creation.)

IF YOU WANT HAWKE TO WEAR HAIR WITH CUSTOM TEXTURES  WITH THIS MOD INSTALLED (like mods from misc hairstyles from frosty or from the miscellaneous files of Anto hairstyles for DA:I), YOU SHOULD INSTALL THE SLIDER MOD BEFORE MEETING HAWKE, NOT AFTERWARDS! If you don't want Hawke to wear a hair with custom textures, though, then it doesn't matter when you install the slider.

Thanks so much for this mod! It'll make modding CC stuff so much less high maintenance if you wanna change stuff later. ^^

I also added this in the comment section for the Enhanced Inquisitor Colors mod by kingslayvr, but your mod made it possible for those using the DAI mod versions of both these mods to use the colour wheels in the BE and making it not crash (meaning no more constant mod merging). A very pleasant surprise, so thank you for that too!

Is there any tutorial on how to copy, paste specialization/ability from one fbproject into your given fbproject? I have no clue which variable is what. I only tried exporting "gen_partymember_[class]_inquisitor_[gender]_[race]" into yours, specialization/ability works but custom hair texture messed up and half bald again. That showed how clueless I am with the frosty editor. Maybe guide me on what part to edit to fix the custom hair problem? Thank you.

Reveal spoiler to view tutorial on how to combine specialization edit mods with the slider.

      Spoiler:
      Show
it might be easier to do it other way round (pasting my edits into fbproject of ability) rather than doing it other way (pasting edits of ability into my fbproject of hair texture slider.) because with hair texture slider you probably have less edits to copy-paste over.

open frosty editor. in top right corner select file > open, open the the .fbproject of the hair texture slider (from the file called "(FOR MOD CREATORS ONLY) Fbproject To Make the Hair Texture Slider Compatible with Specialization Mods".) make sure in top left corner, under where it says data explorer, that "show only modified" is ticked, so it only shows the files that have been edited by my mod. so this should be the characterblueprint files.

open one of the CharacterBlueprints and there should be a filter option at the top of it. type into the filter texturebundledata and then hit enter to search, it will search the file for this keyword. collapse out the arrows in the results until you see where it says TextureBundleData, then right click on the text where it says this, and select copy.

now, in the same instance of frosty editor, open your specialization edit .fbproject, find the same CharacterBlueprint file you just exported from, filter for texturebundledata again, click over the text where it says TextureBundleData, hit paste. it's important you click on that exactly when copying and pasting, not anywhere else, otherwise it won't paste the stuff properly. save the .fbproject.

then repeat the process for each CharacterBlueprint that has been edited by the specialization mod (frosty unfortunately doesn't support mass copy/paste so you will have to go back between the 2 fbprojects - hair texture slider and specialization one - until you're done.)

and make sure that once you saved the mod you do load it underneath the original hair texture slider in frosty mod manager to make it work properly. so you'll still need the original hair texture slider but you'll load your edit you just made beneath it in your applied mods list in frosty, by clicking on the name of your combined mod edit in the frosty mod manager applied mods list so it highlights, then pressing the down arrow button on frosty's interface until you see that your edit has been placed below the main original hair texture slider.

also note that the fbproject i provided is only for the versions of the hair texture slider in the main files section, not the ECC compatibility patch version from the optional files section (enhanced character creation compatibility patch, the one that's compatible with enhanced character creation), so, if you're using this edit you made with the enhanced character creation then that might be part of your issue. because enhanced character creation has some extra edits i can't include in the .fbproject because that's not my mod.

It works! Thank you so much for your help. Your guide is also easily comprehensible to follow step by step too. I'm sure other lost souls like me would appreciate this guide if you put them in your document or pin it on the comment section or something for future reference, just my suggestion. Thank you again.

Hello. Is it possible to make your hair texture slider compatible with Enhanced Inquisitor Colors? I mean, Colors only, not the whole ECC mod...

I am hoping for this as well. I have mods that can't be used with ECC, but they can be with Inquisitor Colors.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. So, the reason it's not made compatible with enhanced inquisitor colours is because I only have permission to do the compatibility patch for the enhanced character creation, not the enhanced inquisitor colours. So, probably not.

Thank you for making this mod! :3 I had grown very attached to the modded hair I was using for my inquisitor, which worked perfectly fine for everything up to Trespasser. I was going to look for other modded hair but found your mod instead, installed the Trespasser file, and voila, she has her beautiful hair back! So thank you ^_^

Hi Dmitrias! Thank you for the excellent mod. Unfortunately, I'm having a problem and I'm not sure if it's due to ECC or the BE fix.

I am currently using ECC (CHPDx edition) and the sliders, as well as the ECC Compatibility Patch + BE fix and the other DLC fixes.

When I enter the Black Emporium, I'm able to successfully use the Mirror of Transformation and edit my character with custom hair textures using ECC. However, when I do so a second time, I immediately get a crash to desktop upon clicking the mirror. I did not have any issues during initial character creation (when I used a hair with custom textures). I've been able to replicate this error with multiple hairs with custom textures. Additionally, when using vanilla hairs without custom textures, I do not get the CTD. This only occurs during the second usage of the Mirror of Transformation with custom hair textures; the first is always fine.

I'm using Frosty 1.0.6.2 (not 1.0.6.3 as for some reason I have issues with wedding dress mesh edits using it) and DAIMM. I'm linking my (massively large, I am so sorry) mod lists here: mod list

I've removed specific mods listed on your troubleshooting guide that are known conflicts, but continue to get this CTD. In the past, I've been able to use the Hair H slider and DLC fixes without ECC with success, so it may be a specific issue with ECC in the BE, but any insight that you have would be phenomenally helpful. In the meantime, I'll keep testing mods to see if I can weed out potential conflicts! Thank you so much <3

Hi, sorry for such a late reply. I hope you worked this out. If you didn't though, or someone else wants the advice, with such a long mods list (I think you might possibly win the honour of having the longest DA:I mods list I've ever seen, lol!), what I would personally do to try and find out what mod is causing a crash is to disable half of your mods list, and then see if the issue reoccurs with only that half enabled, if it does, your problem mod is in the currently disabled half of the list, if it doesn't, your problem mod is in the currently enabled half. From there you just keep re-enabling and disabling mods in smaller halves, until you find the problem mod.

Frosty toolsuite website seems to have re-allocated since I wrote the requirements, but it's here. The link I previously provided for DA:I mod manager in the requirements section in the description, however, is still functional, I just checked. Just ensure that you follow the instructions I wrote to the side of the link if you use that one.

So take your pick on which mod manager you want from the two of those. And for good measure, I just updated the link for the frosty mod manager in the requirements section, too, so both links are up-to-date now.

If you're using the hair texture slider mod, the all skill trees for inquisitor mod edits the exact same files as the hair texture slider, hence why you're having issues, since the two mods conflict.

It might sound strange that 2 very different mods edit the same files, but it's because the files they both edit are master files on information about the inquisitor, containing everything from their appearance to their abilities.

So you have 2 options to resolve this issue:
      1) if you don't mind not using one of the mods, either disable my hair texture slider mod, or disable the all skill trees for the inquisitor mod, since you can't use both together without some tweaking.
      2) alternatively, if you're determined to use both at once, you could manually combine the mods for your private use in order to use both at once.

However, frosty mods cannot be opened up, so to combine them, you'd either need to ask the author of the skill trees mod for their .fbproject, or something else, ask for me instructions if you want to go that route.

Hi there! I've been trying to get the anto mods to work for the last 3 hours and I can't figure it out. They won't show up in the game except one that looks like the image without the texturemod but I'm pretty sure I have it installed... What am I missing here?

You have too many hairs with "custom textures" in the name installed at once. You can only install one hair mod that mentions custom textures in the name at once, you can't use them all together.

Hi! Could you elaborate, please? I can't really help you if you don't give me any details.

Details that would help me to help you include:
      - a screenshot of your full mods list
      - details on which mod manager(s) you are using
      - details which platform you have the game on (e.g steam, origin, EA desktop)
      - what were you expecting to happen, and what happened instead? (e.g I downloaded this file thinking it would do - whatever you thought would happen - but actually this happened instead.)

hello! Help me figure it out, I tried everything I could, I can't understand what the reason is... The screenshots show hairstyles during cut scenes and in the game. What I'm doing wrong... the game starts via steam.

Well, as for how it looks in game, you need to set your mesh quality settings under the graphics section to ultra. As for how it looks in cutscenes, you appear to have a hair mod with custom textures installed, and whilst you do have my hair texture slider in the right spot on your mods list, it looks like you didn't adjust the slider my mod provides when you created your character.

Because my mod adds an additional slider to character creation - labelled either hair stubble or hair texture depending on which files you downloaded- and if the hair doesn't already look correct in character creation, you're supposed to pull that slider along until the hair looks correct. So it looks like you forgot to do that.

When your character is wearing a hair mod with "custom textures" in the name, and you have my slider installed, forgetting to adjust the slider causes the fix to have the opposite effect. So, whilst this can still be corrected, you've already created your character, so the other opportunity to correct this would be at the black emporium area, but you don't gain access to that area until you've finished the prologue. So what I would suggest you do is disable the slider mod for the duration of the prologue.

The hair should look correct after that, but, if you would still like to use the features my slider mod adds, which include being able to preview hairs with "custom textures" in the name with the correct textures in both the black emporium and in character creation, as well as stopping hairs with "custom textures" in the name from causing a patchy effect on other hairs, for example Hawke's hair, then you can re-install my mod once you reach the black emporium, and then go to the mirror and pull the hair stubble/hair texture slider along until your hair looks correct.
