YAHD Is focused on upscaling or fixing the vanilla creatures' textures in DA:O (Origins) and DA:A (Awakening). Vanilla textures of creatures are not bad at all, but they are a mix of high-res and low-res textures, with sometimes wrong criteria (large creatures have low-res textures). This mod aims to address this. You find more details on AI upscaling in the posts section.

so far:

- From version 2.0 of YAHD, I included a deblur in the upscaling chain process of diffuse maps. This should give a little sharper result. The effect is small but visible. I do not plan to apply the deblur to normal maps (they should be ok as they are already in YAHD) while I am testing deblur on specular maps.
- Found a minor bug in original DA:A .erf file. The texture 'cn_bdy_drgb_0d.dds' (red dragon) is missing the transparency channel (alpha) affecting the wings. I have uploaded (in Miscellaneous Files) a fix for this texture for those who wants simply vanilla DA:A (no upscaling). The upscale fix is included in YAHD 2.0.
- After DA:O and DA:A, I must stop for now. The .erf files containing textures from DLC modules are encrypted and I have no access to them, neither with the official toolset.
- I do not plan to upscale armor textures for now. Plenty of mods and overhauls out there. But let me know if you have something that really hurts you in game and that you would like to see upscaled. I can have a try. Please, do not bother me with static textures and assets, others are working on those.

Suggestion: You can remove the files 'cn_hed_dhla_*.dds' under 'z_YAHD_Creatures_Heads' and subfolders (7 files in total comprising LODs) if any. There is no need to upscale the decapitated head of humanoid creatures.
I have modified 'YAHD - Creatures Heads 2.0' by removing them (v2.0.1).

Main Files:

1) YAHD - Creatures Heads (v2.0.1)
Upscaled heads textures of creatures originally at 512x512 to 1024x1024 for consistency, so to have same resolutions on all models (diffuse, normal, and specular maps). Includes the LOD textures.
v2.0.1: Removed decapitated head textures.

2) YAHD - Creatures Bodies (v2.0)
Upscaled 2k body textures of creatures (medium and large) for diffuse, normal, and specular maps. It includes the LOD textures for diffuse maps and specular maps.

3) YAHD - Broodmother (v2.0)
Upscaled textures of broodmother creature at 2k. Due to the several files composing her, I decided to keep her separated in a specific folder.

4) YAHD - Creatures Other Parts (v2.2)
Upscaled textures of other parts of the creatures to match with bodies or heads. It includes the wings for Archdemon and High Dragon at 2k.
v2.1: Added another hurlock creature at 2k (cn_low_hlka_0*).
v2.2: Improved specular maps for the high dragon wings and archdemon wings.

5) YAHD - Creatures Heads (Awakening) (v2.0)
Upscaled heads textures of the Awakening creatures originally at 512x512 to 1024x1024 for consistency, so to have same resolutions on all models (diffuse, normal, and specular maps). Includes the LOD textures for diffuse maps and specular maps. Awakening expansion needed.

6) YAHD - Creatures Bodies (Awakening) (v2.0.1)
Upscaled 2x body textures (1k or 2k) of Awakening creatures (medium and large) for diffuse, normal, and specular maps. It includes the LOD textures for diffuse maps and specular maps. Awakening expansion needed.
v2.1: Added missing transparency (alpha channel) to Dark Werewolf creature (copied from DAO werewolf). Did not test it yet. It should be correct. If you note problems with it, switch back to version 2.0.1.
v2.0.1: Renamed a (probably) wrong name in the normal map of Red Dragon Creature (and it was overwriting the DA:O standard one). Even in the case the different name was intentionally made by Bioware authors, you should have no issues with this version.

7) YAHD - Creatures Eyes Fix (v1.0)
Upscaled the eye texture of Ogre to 128x128 (It was the only one at 64x64). Fixed the Werewolf creature eye (there was a strange color at the edge, but not sure it was notable). Retextured slightly the Succubus and Lady of the Forest eye to a more vibrant color, but faithful to vanilla. Credits go to HollownessDevoured and her mod Elvorn's Grande Bestiary (Creature Recolours). I got inspired for the slight recolor from her and borrowed the DA2 port of Darkspawn eye in this fix (very close to DA:O vanilla but less dull).

Optional Files:

These are retextures, so the colors and details may differ slightly from pure vanilla textures. If you want to use them, extract them in your override folder AFTER the main files, and confirm replacements of the files if asked. They can also be use as standalone, without YAHD main files.

1) YAHD - Desire Demon HD (v2.0)
A straight downscale (1k head and 2k body) of CATACHR1SM Desire Demon HD Retexture. I did not include the head normal map, because the vanilla one is already at 1k.

2) YAHD - Ogre HD (v2.0)
A straight downscale (1k head and 2k body) of CATACHR1SM Ogre HD Retexture. If you use it together with YAHD main files (heads and bodies), extract 'YAHD - Ogre HD' after the main files, so to replace the Ogre head and body textures with the one from Catachr1sm.

3) YAHD - Lady of the Forest HD (v2.0)
A straight downscale (1k head and 2k body) of CATACHR1SM Lady of the Forest HD Retexture. I did not include the head normal map, because the vanilla one is already at 1k.

4) YAHD - Archdemon HD Recolor (v2.0)
This is a recolored version of the Archdemon according to Zykii2048. I used their diffuse textures as references for the automatic color adjustment in YAHD. The result is beautiful: HD textures without the fuzziness/noise in Zykii version, but the exact color match with their vibrant color scheme. 1k for head, 2k for body and wings. LOD textures included.

5) YAHD - High Dragon HD Recolor (v2.0)
Made as a request. This is the blue recolored version of the mountain High Dragon according to Zykii2048. I used their diffuse textures as references for the automatic color adjustment in YAHD textures. I kept the head diffuse map at 1k size as in vanilla, while the body and wings are at 2k. LOD textures included (but the head uses specular and normal maps from vanilla).

6) YAHD - Drake and Dragling HD Recolor (v2.0)
Made as a request. These are the bluish recolored Drake and Dragling textures according to Zykii2048 colors, to match with 'YAHD - High Dragon HD Recolor'. 2k textures and LOD textures included.

7) YAHD - Wolves HD (v2.0)
Made after a question/suggestion. These are the DA:O wolves' textures upscaled at 2k. Not sure to upscale them in the main files due to the medium size of these creatures, but maybe their fur takes benefit from a little more detail in the textures. Extract it to your override folder.
v2.0: Applied the deblur also to the specular maps (as a test, the difference with v1.0 is very subtle).

8) YAHD - Architect Head (AWA) (v2.0)
Made after a question/suggestion. Architect's head upscaled at 2k (vanilla is already at 1k). The head is indeed very detailed, and hopefully this may add a better look in close view. Awakening expansion needed. Extract it to your override folder.
v2.0: Applied the deblur also to the specular maps (as a test, the difference with v1.0 is very subtle).

Miscellaneous Files (not strictly related to YAHD):

1) DAA (Awakening) Creatures Fix (v1.2). A fix for the Red Dragon and Dark Werewolf vanilla diffuse maps in DA:A (Awakening) with corrected alpha channel. Added the missing normal map o fRed Dragon creature. Do not use it if you already have YAHD textures.

2) Female underwear 2k texture from Old Gods, which suffered from a wrong alpha channel and causing problems (black spots).

3) Short guide with pictures on how to make dgVoodoo2 working in DA:O for a bigger UI in game. Tested with DA:O GOG Ultimate edition on Win10.

4) My dgVoodoo2 config file to copy from if you have problem in setting parameters in dgVoodoo2 for DA:O.

The following retextures are my upscales (2x) for companion heads. I did these to fit with the retextures for Morrigan and Leliana (plenty of them on Nexus) which are often found already upscaled to 1k (2x). Credits go to the authors of the original mods, which did a fantastic job with them:

5) YAHD - Sten of the Beresaad HD (v1.2). 2x upscale of the head textures and the body specular map from the mod Sten of the Beresaad (they were at 512x512). I also put the head normal map in DA:O format (even if it was already compatible) and slightly increased the contrast and noise in both X and Y maps to better mimic skin texture. The difference with the original is however very subtle. You NEED the original mod and its dependencies to work. Overwrite the original mod textures with the ones here. 
UPDATE 1.2: I tweaked more the Sten upscale, by mixing with the original qunari textures from tmp7704. I used the tmp7704 head normal map (with minor paint points taken from untamedfuture) and its specular map (it has more contrast). These give more details and signs of age to Sten face. I prefer this harsher look for the qunari with respect to v1.1. If you use this version, delete any previous 'YAHD - Sten of the Beresaad HD' files from override folder. If you prefer the softer version, use v1.1 in Old Files.

6) YAHD - Wynne Redesign HD (v1.0). 2x upscale of the head textures from the mod Wynne Redesign (they were at 512x512) a mod that I love by katorius. I also added an upscaled head normal map and a tweaked .mor file in which I blended the age texture (by a factor 0.3) to give Wynne a nice older look (the same seen in my screenshot Splendid Wynne). You NEED the original mod Wynne Redesign to work. You do not need the normal map fix from the original mod (already included here). Overwrite the original mod textures with the ones here.

Recommended mods:
I strongly recommend Manually Optimized Textures (AP Neural Enhanced Textures) by NoOneKnows1. The mod upscales environment textures where needed, and it should merge well with YAHD. The mod was used here for the screenshots in the image section.

My other DAO mods:
Amor of the Black Fox (Hsli compatible). A skimpy version of Nezroi Armor of the Black Fox to be compatible with Hsli Female Light Armor Replacement. I also included an optional fix of the tint maps of the Hsli mod.
Chantry Robes - Inquisition Colors (Fix). A fix to the diffuse maps of the mod Chantry Robes - Inquisition Colors.
Theta HD (Fix). It fixes some textures from Theta HD mod. The original mod is not strictly required.
Male underwear retexture. Retexture of the human male underwear with dark grey underwear.
Creatures Tweaks. Some addons to my personal favorite creatures.

Collaborations:
Chasind Robe (yet another attempt): Original idea from stadavan. Tight version of the Chasind robe with a more covered chest and other minor shadow corrections, while keeping vanilla style as close as possible.
Hoods (for the Girls): Help from RogueLass and wizzyrm. Some wearable custom hoods for companions (girls) to match with notable armors and robes.
