How do I even use this mod. There are no installation instructions, can't install from DAOmod manager because it's not a da zip, and just dropping the folder into the override folder isn't working
How to use: as said in the description, the items are found in a chest in the Player's room during the siege on Castle Cousland. That's the chest beside the door. If not a Cousland Warden, you can add the items through the console, you'll need > visible console commands and add any item visual deluxe, run the program in the second link to search for any player added items. Enable the console using the instructions in the first link, then when you're in-game use the tilde key (~) to open up the console itself. For the weapons you'll type "runscript getx cousland" (without quotation marks), and for the armors you'll type in "runscript getx northern/sea/coast" depending on the set you want (again, without quotation marks).
How to install: download the files, unzip and place the folders into your override at: Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/packages/core/override
for some reason the items don't show up in console. I have the warrior .2 armor and the treasury greatsword versions. I do have the noble couslands of feralden mod?
For some reason I don't get any items at all. Not even with the add any item visual deluxe mod. I popped the Cousland armory (all) version into my override and nothing happens. When I search for the items with the console none of them show up. I'm seriously starting to doubt my comprehension skills lmao. Am I missing something? The chest only contains the vanilla items and I shouldn't have any conflicting mods
Lastly, are you per chance using either Of Noble Cast or Noble Couslands of Ferelden? One of those does have files that affect the chest, so they might conflict.
Otherwise I wouldn't know what might be causing it
I did the scan again, just to be sure, and checked with the duplicate search tool. Nothing. Also checked if I have Of Noble Cast or Noble Couslands of Ferelden installed. Still nothing.
Kinda strange but oh well. Thx for taking the time to respond though :)
I probably did something wrong but I really can't figure out what. The scan works perfectly fine for other items, just not yours. It's a shame but I'll survive lol
Lore wise, Cousland Family Sword and Shield of Highever should have bonus vs beast because the family terynir begin during lycanthropy plague when Teyrna Alathea fought against werewolves
I tend to use the additem command to get the items, so I'm not sure how they'd work if you were to type out the whole item name
At any rate, for the sword you need the command "family" since the longsword is called "family sword" in the toolset, and "highever" for the shield Hope this works for you ^^
Hi I installed the of noble cast mod and the mod from your optionals that replaces the family sword with a two handed greatsword however when I opened the chest it was empty. I was wondering if this was intentional since I guess as part of the noble cast mod there is a greatsword in the chest in the players room. I love the idea of this mod and thank you for making it.
There are no set bonuses on the gear, but you can do anything you want with Winter Forge. I gave the massive armor the dwarven massive armor bonus, and the heavy the wade dragon heavy set armor. You can also change item properties, just check out that mod, it adds a forge in your camp. You don't need the tools and such in your inventory so you can safely put them in storage.
However it's interesting to note that the Shield has two versions, the one you find during the Origin, and the one you get from Gorim later on. The first one has no stats, since it's mostly used as a prop there. However the second one has the following stats; +1 to Cunning +1 to Constitution +9 to defense +4 damage vs. darkspawn
I'll switch out the Cunning for Strength and double the stats given, remove level restriction, and also switch the model for consistency. Also I should note that star metal isn't a material that's generally used in the game aside from some dlc items, however it shares the same stats as tier 8 (white steel) items from Awakening, so instead I'll put it to the highest tier one can get in Origins (which is tier 7 dragonbone), but also give it the ability to upgrade to the highest tier in Awakening (tier 9 volcanic aurum) when using mods like Winter Forge.
I'll have it uploaded later today in my random things mod :)
Hey loved what you did with the shield! However, could you turn it back into Targe shield. Also, could you make the Legion of the dead armor set plus helmet more powerful.
The Legion set itself is already quite powerful, it's the highest tier in Origins (tier 7) and already has considerable stats I could double the stats and add some stats to the boots, but I'm not sure how that would affect the set bonus and since I'm afraid to break something I'd rather not touch the set in itself ^^;
You might be able to do what you wish with the Winter Forge to add more effect to the items, I don't recall the mod has any limitation as to how many effect an item can have
Yup, I thought it was a nice idea to think that mama Cousland left something behind as well and from a lore perspective I always imagined her to have light armor, especially when maneuvering about a ship
Is it intended the original shield of highever and family sword I found in my game are their original grey iron(tier2) versions and taken from the armory chest, while the others found from your room are steel(tier 3) quality? Or are the armory sword&board supposed to be steel as well? Sorry if this has been asked before!
To be fair I mainly focused on adding new weapons/armor that are slightly better then the original sword and shield combo I mainly made these for the other archetypes since they have no distinctive weapons for them. So if you for example roleplay an archer there's no family bow and so on.
I do believe I have an extra file in here somewhere that affects the sword and shield, but I don't recall if I made them tier 3 as well...I'd have to check, otherwise it's an easy fix in case you want this :)
There are already some good Cousland sword replacements for the main family longsword. Your mod is great, but you may want to avoid the "default in-game" to allow for those others.

I'm not really sure if I understand your question though.
Do you mean making a set bonus? If so, I'm afraid I don't know how to do that ^^;

I hope this helps
Did you scan for user items using add any item ?
Also, just in case, try scanning for any duplicates using the duplicate search tool

It's really strange though, since if you do the scan they should show up if you use the console commands
Edit: Done
Have a look under misc. files

If you still want my sword you can always use the console (if you're comfortable with using it) to manually add it to your inventory yourself ^^
