In the wilderness when there is a fight, the wind effect disappears and hear nothing. It back again after the fight. I play with the Environmental Ambience mod.

Did you try to uncheck the "Enable Combat Music" in the Dynamic Music config menu ?

Why do all "crowds of talking people" often sound like a dozen or more when at the most, Im my experience, you find a max of 8 in the same room. Is there a way to find out how many "people flats" there are and have tracks selected based on the number of people in the room? So you have two people talking (or not), 3 people, 4 people, 5 people and so on based on population?

I plan to put tracks based on the quality of the tavern, and maybe the quality of the stores, because that's a parameter included in Dynamic Music, but the number of people in the building is unfortunately not part of it.

This would be a really cool feature. But it's way beyond my meager coding skills.

For this kind of thing, I think it's more the creator of the Dynamic Music mod (and therefore the code) who could take care of it. Even if behind it, it would require a lot of work from me to create different tracks, depending on the number of people.

If one day the Dynamic Music mod is updated with this feature, I'll see what I can do :)

Does this work with the Orchestral Remaster mod by LordBraathen (or any other that replaces original audio files) too, or just the original music from 1996?

Yes, it will work, but only in the areas that I have not modified.

Dynamic Music works by forcing an audio track instead of the game music in the areas specified by the mod directories. In the "Tavern" folder, if there is a "name_sound.ogg" file, this music file will be played in the tavern, instead of the game musics. So, for example, with my mod, you won't have any music in the big cities.

For what you are asking, the best would to distribute the "sounds.ogg" of the Orchestral and Acoustic Remaster of Daggerfall Soundtrack mod (or Audio Merge - Orchestral and Environmental Ambience) in the different folders of my mod. In combination with my mod, you will have the music and the atmosphere :)

[I could do it, but I need permission from LordBraathen to use his files]

Thanks for the comprehensive reply! I'm actually thinking of using the combination of yours with the music + environmental mod by  allybatman13 that you point to in your description but I'd like the music to be a bit more real and richer sounding then the '96 original could reporoduce, like the orchestral mod I mentioned or the Re-sequenced one by giamel.
Not sure exactly which files from alternative music mods should be distributed in which folders of yours/allybatman13's but I'll try to tinker with it and see what happens

Good luck with the tinkering, for a truly personalized gaming experience, I think it's worth it

If you are still looking to get my mod and LordBraathen Orchestral Remaster music, I just discovered this mod that distributes the music files in Dynamic Music folders. I think it's the easiest solution :) :

My music preset is close to vanilla by IvanKuzyk

Hey, thanks. I managed to make some sort of custom mix from a few different sources. It seems to be working fine so far.

This looks really good! I'll definitely be using it next time I play Daggerfall.

Thank you very much ! Coming from a modder like you, it motivates me to finalize version 1.1, so that you have it before you restart Daggerfall.

Downloading this mainly for the extra folders and configurations. But you got some interesting ambience. I just wish ambience and music could be played together though. But having a break from the music every now and then might be good fpr the ears. ^^

    Thank you.

The only suggestion I have would be a desert biome. Day and night. Your mod is an exelent preset with folders to work from. I intend to  study your settings, as well as the instructions from Dynamic Music to make my own folders. I am very greateful for that. :)

Thank you for your kind comment.
I have made progress on version 1.1, but this is my first playthrough on Daggerfall and I have not yet visited certain regions, factions ^^. I am adding ambient sounds in my mod when I discover that they are missing :D
I am adding your suggestion for desert biome to my to-do list, a desert atmosphere, that would be nice indeed.

I would also have liked the music to be able to be activated over the atmosphere at will, but the game is not coded that way :/
The best solution would be to add music over my ambient sounds, which would play alternately with the other files. Besides, by adding the mods that I mention in an answer below, we should get close to this result.

I am finalizing V1.1 (with perhaps tracks for the desert, day and night :) ), and in 1.2, why not bonus music. To give players the choice of whether they want an atmosphere without music, or with.

Once your custom folders are finished, don't hesitate to make a mod out of them, for even more atmosphere in Daggerfall :) .
Or contact me, if it's easier for you, so that I can add them to my mod (and naming you co-author of the mod of course)
