I hate to write that but I had to disable this mod as it causes massive frame drops when loading new chunks of terrain, even in real time travel (x1). I've found that DFU Render Distance Extender with a distance of 5 and fog not disabled works nicely and is actually faster.
This is from Location Loader which is part of World of Daggerfall Project. The author is aware of this bug and will fix it in the incoming release. Bug identification : Location loader: ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.
May I ask why you are using DFU v0.14.5 ? DFU v1.0.0 is out and you should really update.
Sadly broken as of the most recent DFU update. All terrain disappears and you load into an infinite void. It's the improved terrain aspect of the mod, which is the only real reason I use the mod to begin with, since what's the point of distant terrain if it's all flat? It's definitely the mod itself, as when this is the only mod active, the bug still happens. Please look into a fix as soon as you can. Thank you for your time.
HI DISREGARD THIS MY EYES DON'T WORK AND I AM DUMB
Okay, the issue is that I can't read and don't use the "all off" button on the mod screen like a normal person. Okay it's more than that. It's an incompatibility with World of Daggerfall. If you, like me, downloaded the new update and installed it sight unseen, you weren't aware that it now comes with a new terrain file. This isn't an addition or a compatibility thing, it's a whole terrain replacer. 2 terrain replacers = engine gets confused = fun void stuff. When I disabled all other mods, I didn't use "all off" because I'm an insane person, and the World of Daggerfall terrain mod was at the very bottom, HIDING from me.
tl;dr, if you're having this problem and use World of Daggerfall, disable the terrain mod.
Good mod but as of 1.0 it breaks other newer mods such as World of Daggerfall, Wilderness Overhaul (trees spawn on sea) and creates voids while using Travel Options. Also breaks retro mode.
I've downloaded it manually and tried it with and without the Enchanced Sky mod (https://forums.dfworkshop.net/viewtopic.php?t=1542). Also tried switching the load orders of both with no change.
I found that you have to have "Distant Terrain" in the mod load order BEFORE "Enhanced Skies" or "Dynamic Skies". In addition having "terrain transition" and/or "fade into sky box" checked; would seem to disable distant terrain. I hope this helps for some.
Ive ticked both already yet still no luck, skybox is still clashing with terrain almost as if the skybox is in front of it. Anybody else have this issue? I have no other mods enabled that would clash with Distant Terrain, enhanced skies is loaded afterwards so im pretty lost, ive scoured all the dead forum posts on earth to no avail :(
Seems broken with 0.16 DFU RC. Leaving privateers hold, I drop through the world instantly. I have other mods, but disabling distant terrain fixed the issue.
Are you using DREAM as well? I noticed this mod works fine on its own with no other mods active in the load order and my worlddata folder empty as well, however enabling DREAM leads to unfortunate bits like this:
Spoiler:
Show
That also occurs with or without the DREAM 2022.json file in the preset folder for distant terrain. It's not everywhere but that floating terrain bug happens frequently. I suspect it just needs an update. Sad though I was really hoping to use this mod again for my next playthrough :/
I had the same issue when leaving the dungeon and I had both Distant Terrain and Dream enabled. The fix is to go into the mod settings when starting up the game, and under Distant Terrain there are a few check boxes. Specifically there are 2 check boxes under additional, and if you uncheck one of them, I can't remember exactly what it's called but I think it's improved terrain, then that resolved the issue for me. I tried a lot like disabling other mods and trying to order my mod list differently, but nothing made a difference except unchecking one of the boxes under additional in distant terrain mod settings. It's cool to have Dream and Distant terrain so hopefully it works for you too.
?Hello, I am having an issue where the terrain drops off into what seems to be water on a clear day, and this white stuff during inclement weather. I have both terrain transition and skybox blending enabled. What is the cause of this, and can this be resolved?
Distant terrain should be placed before any skybox mod and is not compatible with Mountains and Hills. If these conditions are met, then the terrain draw distance is almost infinite.

Im a noob to modding. Thanks.
I'm running Distant Terrain and World of Daggerfall together and it's running fine.
Just disable the terrain renderer of Distant Terrain like this:
And if it can help, here is my loading order:
I've downloaded it manually and tried it with and without the Enchanced Sky mod (https://forums.dfworkshop.net/viewtopic.php?t=1542).

Edit: Seems like "Mountains and Hills" conflicts with this one. As soon as I uninstalled it, the distant terrain showed.
