Distant Terrain mod increases view distance and adds low-poly geometry for distant terrain. It further improves horizon appearance when Enhanced Sky mod is active by blending far away terrain into sky.
Distant Terrain comes with its own terrain sampler to generate more interesting terrains respecting the original height map data of daggerfall as much as possible.
It is possible to deactivate Distant Terrain mod's improved terrain sampler to allow it to run with other terrain samplers in theory. Nevertheless it might not look good with other mods that provide their own terrain sampler implementations
Normal dfunity terrain (near terrain) is blended into terrain both in terms of geometry as well as textures when the terrain transition option in the mod settings is enabled. Locations are by default indicated in the distant terrain by a brighter spot in the texture (it is subtle but can be seen)

It is recommended to use this mod together with Enhanced Sky mod.
If Realtime Reflections mod is present Distant Terrain mod will use sea reflections on the distant terrain as well.
This mod is compatible with Splat Terrain Texturing mod by TheLacus.
