It looks like the game v2.12 introduced a bug which renders most HUD widgets invisible upon exiting the Kiroshi Scanner. Affected widgets include the Minimap, Button Hints, Notifications, Health Bar, Weapon Roster, and Holocall. In most cases, the 'Restore HUD' feature helps fix it.
Nov 28, 2024 update: Mod v1.12.0 introduces an automatic patch for this game bug.
This mod has been updated to support the game v2.+ Please note this is just a code compatibility update. This means it will run on the game v2.+ although its feature set is not updated to handle bugs introduced in the new game generation. Also please note that many bugs that this mod used to patch in game gen 1 are now fixed in the new game.
Thank you all for sharing your observations on the new game behavior.
Please note that the HUD elements, especially the Health Bar, Minimap and button hints are also controlled by quest scenes. The game hides them on a purpose to make them more immersive and then unhides once the particular scene is over (usually on completing some objective). It's quite often that only the quest tracking info is on screen in special quest scenes and this is normal (or at least this is forced by the game, not a glitching leftover). E.g. in the "Lucretia My Reflection" quest where you meet Reeds the basketball court and the go with him to meet Mayers.
Also, please keep in mind that there are many HUD mods that were developed for the game gen 1 that may need to be updated to the new version. While they may seemingly work, they may interfere with the new game HUD system. So if you use HUD mods and encounter unexpected behavior, please verify it without mods.
v1.9.0 available: Feature update: advanced Health Bar and Weapon Roster autohide control conditions settings. The Health Bar and the Weapon Roaster are set to autohide by default following the current game design. Actually it's only the game 1.3 version series that had the autohide feature disabled.
v1.8.0 available: Feature update: adds sticky scanning sound removal to the Restore HUD action.
v1.7.4 available: Fixes a Health Bar bug that could set the bar value to 100 in some circumstances.
v1.7.3: Overcomes the CET 1.21.x hotkeys limitations by changing the key type used to Input type. Key bindings are preserved - just update the mod and use it as before. The CET 1.21.x hotkeys work only if no other key is pressed. This could block this mod if you wanted to use it e.g. while driving. The Input keys work without that limitation.
Feature update: patches the Health Bar missing the full health levels update sometimes resulting in the health level value staying just one notch bellow the full health which prevents the Health Bar autohide in effect. This patch works automatically and it's also included in the manual Restore HUD feature.
After installing, I was running into repeated freezing of my keyboard inputs. Not sure of the exact timing, but regular as clockwork the keyboard would stop responding - mouse inputs were fine, but nothing from keyboard. After a few seconds the issue went away, at which point it seemed like the key commands had been stuck in a buffer as a bunch would all execute at once.
Uninstalling this mod removed the issue. If it helps, the keyboard in question is a Logitech G13 Gamepad.
Any ideas on what the problem might be? I have the latest version of CET installed.
Can this be done for crosshair? I have a strange bug, or I don't know what it is. The crosshair of any weapon disappears as soon as I move a centimeter away from the enemy. And most of the time it is invisible.
Was able to fix that by simply having large-scale battles in Night City.
Most likely, some game scene did not clean up everything after completion, and that remained in your gamesave until you encountered another activity that finally put it back in place. This sometimes happens in the game. There used to be a mod that tracked and amended crosshair and center dot visibility, but since these were fixed in game version 1.5 or 1.6, it is no longer needed and has been removed from public space.
I was concerned at first, thinking your mod didn't help. Then, when I went into CET I realized my HUD Widgets were set to "Hidden By Default". Once I disabled the "feature", everything POPPED ON! This fixed my missing Health and RAM Bars. Your mod is a godsend, Thanx choom! (V2.2 PL) :D
Endorsed!
P.S.
Apparently, I was also missing the widget/icon for my Equipped Weapon?! I didn't even know that was a thing! xD
thank you!! :) This fixed so much! even inside the vehicles, I got this because the HUD would disappear sometimes. I had no idea so much was missing ... You are a gem!
I encountered one HUD element disappearing in a certain situation: The red enemy silhouette when you mark enemies or when you use the ping hack.
When you are using a weapon which can produce ricochets and cyberware which can show you the ricochet lines, enemies which are supposed to be hit by the ricochet are marked with a green silhouette. When they lose this green marking because they move or the angle of the ricochet path changes, the red silhouette is gone and won't reappear even with a new ping or by unmarking/remarking them.
I don't think this is intended behavior.
Would this be something you could fix in a future update of this mod?
Thanks for the reply. I will have a closer look into it without any mods.
Addendum: Okay, ich checked it out a little without any mods activated and this seems to be a problem in the vanilla game, not caused by any mods. At first I thought it could be caused by Ricochet Redux but that's not the case.

I am desperately looking for a HUD REMOVER that removes all elements such as
"Talk" (NPCs)
"Get in" (car)
"Open" (car)
"Open" (doors)
But I could not find a mod for this. Anyone her can help me out?
Thanks and regards

can't believe there's still bugs on patch 2.21.

It would likely require a separate mod to amend this single issue.
Assuming this is not caused by some other mods.
