Changelogs
Game patches 1.6 through 1.63 positively verified.
Game v2.0+ and 2.1+ code compatible although the feature set is not fully tested.

This mod aims to patch new game v1.5 and v1.6+ and 2.0+ HUD bugs - disappearing or unavailable UI elements following the game design expected behavior:

Dialogue lines, especially key quest dialogue choices (patched),
Quest hints (tracked quest info, current objective info) (patched),
- Health Bar (patched),
- Minimap (patched),
- Weapon Roster (active weapon type, ammo, etc) (patched),
- Stance indicator (standing/crouching) (patched),
- Speedometer while driving and appearing when not driving (patched),
- Loot items icons in view (the icons that show up above objects to loot) (patched),
- Interaction icons in view (the icons that show where to perform an action and what type of the action) (patched),
- Blocked Kiroshi scanner and quickhacking when it should be enabled (patched),
- Minimap Combat mode indicator missing during combat sometimes (patched).
- Sticky scanning sound leftover from using quickhacks introduced in the game v1.61 (patched).

Sometimes they go off the screen in various patterns, especially when playing quests full of action.
This is caused by the game code changes introduced in the new game.

Usually save&reload helps but it's not only inconvenient or disruptive - sometimes it's impossible due to the game imposing a lock on saves while in a quest action or a fight.
So you may find yourself unable to find your quest objective and unable to fix it by save&reload.

Mod features:

  • Disappearing Health Bar patch. It automatically and manually patches the Health Bar behavior.
  • Restore HUD to defaults with a hotkey. This patches multiple missing elements or other issues from the list above. More may be added if found.
  • Speedometer patch. Th e Speedometer shows up when not needed sometimes or it does not show up when needed. Automatic and manual patch.
  • Disappearing quest dialogues and quests objective hints patch. Restores missing dialog choices and quest objective tracker hints with the Restore HUD hotkey.
  • Kiroshi scanner/quickhacking pach. Tries to re-enable it with the Restore HUD hot key if it was disabled by a game bug.
  • Choose your preferred Health Bar and Weapon Roster behavior: autohide or stay on the screen. Switch it at any time you like it.

Please note there may be more game HUD bugs than this mod covers or there may be bugs that the mod is unable to patch.
Also some unexpected HUD behavior issues may be caused by other mods managing the HUD.

What it does:

The mod follows the expected game design behavior in two modes:

- game v1.2x, v1.5x and 1.6+ autohide style in the "HUD Features Autohide" mode set to ON.
- game v1.3x no autohide style in the "HUD Features Autohide" mode set to OFF.

The "HUD Features Autohide" is set to ON  by default following the current game 1.6+ design.

You can select the behavior that suits you best at any time.

Please note only the Health Bar, the Speedometer and the Weapon Roster patches work automatically.
All the others, specifically revealing falsely hid quest dialogues blocking the quest progression require a manual action with the mod Restore HUD hotkey or the mod window button.
This is on a purpose and there is a very good reason to separate the two groups this way.

How to use it:

The mod requires the CET: Cyber Engine Tweaks scripting platform.

The  disappearing Health Bar patch works fully automatic behind the scenes.
The Speedometer patch works automatically although it's also included in the manual HUD restore.
The HUD restore and all the other patches work on demand by clicking the Restore HUD now button in the mod window or by pressing a keyboard hotkey to trigger the action when needed. If you prefer to use the hotkey you need to set up the hot key so you can use it later.

Compatibility info:

This mod is compatible with the game v1.5+ and 1.6+ with corresponding CET versions.
This mod is compatible with the game v2.0+ and 2.1+ however it's functionality is limited as many of the bugs the mod patches are already fixed in the game gen2.
CET 1.29.0 is not supported due to numerous issues in this version.
CET 1.30.0 is not supported due to issues in this version.

This mod code is compatible with the game v2.0+ although the feature set is not fully tested against the new game version.
Also many of the bugs listed above are already patched in the game itself.

The mod follows the game design and it relies heavily on the game mechanics and the built-in model definition fundamentals.
If you use it with mods that change the game built-in fundamentals the results may vary and depend only on the other mods changes.
If you use mods changing the game design or circumventing the game methods to make it behave differently or disrespecting shared resources use rules and you'll find the final results unacceptable or falling short the expectations there is nothing I can do about it as the game compatibility is affected by the other mods.
If you experience any unexpected issues using this mod please first test it out without other mods installed to confirm the issues before reporting.
This mod has been heavily tested against the game clean install and battle hardened by long months of everyday hours long use so in case of issues it's most likely that some other mod may be affecting this mod functionality.
