📌 IMPORTANT: How to Install & Use Night City Streets (Please Read!) 📌Hey Chooms! Thanks for checking out Night City Streets. This mod uses INI presets to change how crowds and traffic behave in your game. To make sure it works correctly, please follow these simple steps:1. Understand the Presets:
This mod comes with multiple (like NCS_Balanced_Realism.ini, NCS_Maximum_Immersion.ini, NCS_Lore_Infused.ini, etc.).
Each file is a complete, self-contained preset designed for a different experience (Balanced, Max Density, Performance, etc.).
2. ❗❗ CHOOSE ONLY
This is the most important step! You cannot use multiple preset files from this mod at the same time. They contain overlapping settings and will conflict or simply not work as intended.
Look through the preset descriptions (on the mod page or in the ReadMe) and decide which one best fits your PC specs and what you want from the mod.
3. Installation:
Download the main mod file archive.
Extract the archive. You will see several .ini preset files.
Select the single preset .ini file you chose in Step 2.
Place ONLY THAT ONE FILE into your Cyberpunk 2077 configuration folder. Common locations are:
...\Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\platform\pc\
Or, if using mods like Cyber Engine Tweaks, potentially within its specific mod/plugin config folders (check CET documentation if unsure).
DO NOT copy all the preset files into your config folder. Only the one you want to use. If you accidentally copied more, remove the extras.
4. Want More Detail or Customization?
Read the included ReadMe file for more detailed explanations of the presets.
Check the Optional Files section for the Fully Annotated Master INI. This file explains every setting and is great if you want to fine-tune your chosen preset or create your own version. (Do not install the Annotated file alongside a preset).
5. Performance:
Presets that increase density (SpawnLimit) heavily impact CPU performance.
Presets enabling visual consistency (DisableLOD, ForceFullTest) impact GPU and CPU performance.
If your FPS is too low, consider switching to a less demanding preset (like "Balanced" or "Performance First") OR edit your chosen preset .ini file and lower the [Crowd] SpawnLimit value (e.g., from 100 down to 80, 60, or lower).
6. Always Backup:
Before installing any INI mod, it's wise to back up your original game configuration files.
TL;DR: Pick ONE preset .ini file, put ONLY that file in your config folder. Read the descriptions to choose. Enjoy the chaos! Thanks for reading, and hope you enjoy the enhanced streets of Night City!
dear author, is there any "setting"(line) that affects presence of NPCs behind you. I mean sometimes i spinning my fpp camera and most of the NPCs appears with delay. sometimes its 2 npcs smoking toghether, than i spinn, only one from them appears. I spinn again they appers toghether. So just the game itsself... Is there any chance that this could be affacted? Best regards and thank you for your work.
Create the folders \Cyberpunk 2077\mods\NIGHT CITY STREETS\engine\config\platform\pc, add the .ini into the \pc folder, create these folders/file as a zip file and install with your mod manager of choice.
You can simply open the .ini file with notepad and adjust accordingly. For example I'm using the Balanced Realism preset and have just lowered the SpawnLimit= number a touch for better performance on my setup.
Hi, thanks for the info. That also explains the installation instructions that were confusing me.But at the moment, I still can't notice much of a difference from before.Well, no wonder. I have about 200 mods running.
Not just for vortex, that program has caused so many issues for me in the past that I only manually manage my mods. Despite that, as long as the mod is packed in the correct directory structure for vortex then to manually install a mod it just requires putting the zip file in the CP2077 directory and clicking, "extract here" and you're finished installing the mod.
I definitely recommend looking at Mod Organizer 2 for it's ability to keep mods separate from the game’s core files, reducing the risk of conflicts and making modding easier to manage and troubleshoot without touching the games files at all.
hi there, do i have ability to install .ini files(from this mod asswell0 with MO2 ? cant find how...:( edit: do i need to make zip archive with right path ( engine-config-platform-pc) and ini file in it and just to put in download in MO2 folder?
That is correct, just add the .ini preset or customised to the path you mentioned and you're good to go! I absolutely recommend using the Cyberpunk 2077 Game Plugin for MO2, it will help setup a lot of mods automatically for you too. Check out this video if you need a great guide to get you up and running - Mod Organizer 2 Guide
I tested them after removal and experienced no panic from stealth activity. I haven’t tested a gadget scenario yet, but I’m also using Combat Revolution, which significantly alters AI behavior, some of its changes might be influencing these parameters as well.
So far, everything’s working well with these mods removed but more testing is to be done.
Lore.ini is the more performance hungry preset is it not? I am looking for the Performance First preset but cannot see it at all? Also, do you know if React To Horn is compatible with this mod?
Another set of mods that are very popular are the Immersion patch - No crowd panic from using devices & Stealth, are these still worth using with this or conflicting at all?
I'm still getting stuttering and close to 25 FPS at high for balanced realism. Would you suggest I play with a different preset for some added traffic density while still having stable fps with medium Lore ini?
Hi. I don't know what CPU you have, or what settings/screen you're playing with, but increasing traffic or crowd will have a significant impact on the CPU. You need to make sure you're already hitting 60 FPS with graphics settings in High, including crowd density, before activating such a mod.
It was annoying to see Night City so barren in vanilla. The lore states that Night City is one of America's last cities, if not the last city. It should feel like New York during the holiday season.
I tried all the other crowd/traffic density mods here, but yours seems the most efficient. I can use maximum immersion on my 5090 without crashing. Good stuff.
It was a bit tricky to set up, tho. If this helps anyone....
I manually put the Main.ini file in my "...Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\platform\pc" folder.
I then reviewed the configuration settings in the "Maximum Immersion" file only for reference, to see which settings I wanted to copy in the Main.ini file.
OK, so after testing for a few hours, here's my findings.
(This isn't some thorough scientific test or anything, just my observations)
As a reminder of my setup: 5090 with driver 576.02, I9-13900K, Windows 11.
So, I installed your 5090 mod and the Core mods.
For graphic settings, I ran DLAA, and set all graphic settings on Ultra and Crowd to Astonishing.
I get about 106-110 FPS, CPU usage 35-40% Pwr: 900 watts
If I put the crowd settings to High, AND DLSS to quality,
I get about 180fps. CPU usage 20-22% Pwr: 812 watts
There was a difference in crowd and car density, but I never saw anywhere near as many people as you showed in that video (more like half that number).
However, Once I installed Not So Good Draw Distance (to improve draw distance a bit), my entire machine crashes (not the game, the whole damn PC). This happened twice.
This makes me believe this mod doesn't leave much headroom for other mods, especially those that touch on visuals. Having a setting that helps modify the draw distance might be good. I recall a setting in your script, but I didn't want to mess with it too much.
I'm building a new AMD machine soon. I can update you once I try your mod on that machine, but this is all I can report on for now.
Hi Well done, it's not as greedy as I'd imagined. Perfect for walks in the middle of crowds ! Thanks a lot for this new mod ;)
📄 Files tested (no customisation) Night City Streets 1.2 : Balanced Realism.ini, Lore Behavior.ini Street Walkers 1 : Pedestrian Focus.ini Traffic Nightmare 1 : Traffic Nightmare.ini
1440p perf cost • -8.4% with Traffic Nightmare (-15% lost for 1% Low) • -9.9% with Pedestrian Focus (-14% lost for 1% Low) • -10.1% with Lore Behavior (-18% lost for 1% Low) • -10.5% with Balanced Realism (-19% lost for 1% Low)
But I'd like to point out that my CPU is having trouble keeping up, even before installing a Night City Street mod the CPU load is 75-80%. So it also limits the use of the graphics card (20% bottleneck in game).
In the game's benchmark, you can't tell the difference, so I did a 65-second run from the street in front of Victor's to the end of Little China market (measure with CapFrameX) :
Note : for each test, I ran 4 or 5 run as identical as possible, and I've taken the median result.
PC configuration • AMD RX 6900XT | Navi 21 XTX (light OC : +2 or 3% gain over stock config ; Average power consumption for this tests : 195W) • Intel Core i5-12400 • 2 x 16Go DDR5 5600MT/s CL36 Corsair Vengeance
sound interesting, dont like huge crowds(dont understanbd why people like big loud towns or just people x_x), but do i have posibility to change values in .ini files just using notepad? tthank you for your work!
thanks for quick answer. im looking into .ini files right now, and i can see that MaximumPerformance.ini file dont have "AI" paragraph, any other .ini file has it. But as i can read in description MaximumPerformance changes Ai behavior, isnt it? <3

thanks for your mod, i like it, its vibrant,i use the visual fidelity focus, well done.
I have a small request, could you do a vortex version which mean for example down below.
Thanks as far as concerning him
Take care.

First of all, thank you so much for this mod.

The settings worked after that.
That said, I'm curious if this is compatible with the Disappearing NPC and Vehicle Fix (Crowd LOD spawn distance). I haven't seen any issues using them both together, but I was interested in your thoughts.
