    Forcing religious units to obey borders made this game SOO much more enjoyable. The AI spawns a ridiculous number of missionaries and apostles and soon they are running all through your territory.

    Also, I have an updated alternate version.. not sure if you would be interested in posting it here.

    I removed:

    - the goodie hut updates (regrettably)
    - mountains being passable
    - civ trait for America.

    Which just leaves:

    - road changes
    - farms on tundra/desert (removed farms on snow though)
    - religious units no longer violate borders

      Where could we download said version? I love the original version, just not a fan of being able to move through mountains.

      You can comment out (or delete) the mountain movement stuff if you prefer it gone.

      Just open the xml file in a text editor and find the mountain movement section.

    This worked well for one game, but the next game I experienced a crash-to-desktop. It seemed to happen randomly at turn 13.

    Then, I started another one with similar setup ( Standard size, against 8 opponents ) and it crashed quite early, but it happened as I opened a goodie hut.

    I remove the goodie hut portion and didn't experience any more crashes over the next three games.

    I don't have any other mods running that affect the huts in any way.

    Hopefully this was just an aberration.

      This should be fixed now. It seems that the 'Unit Upgrade' option in the goody huts was the culprit. Not sure why, but I suspect it has to do with the game engine itself, since the original file doesn't even give it a weight (% chance) of being chosen.

    I cannot see where to change the civ in the file.

      Do a search for;
      CIVILIZATION_AMERICA

      in the file and replace "AMERICA" with the civ you want... check the 'Civilizations.xml' to make sure you get the right name for your preferred Civ.

      I can't find it in the latest version of the file anymore, either. Scanned the whole file over and used the search.

      D'OH! Sorry guys, I took that bit out while I was testing a few other things... and I was looking in my working directory rather than my package up directory.

      So you're not crazy. I don't think.

      I'll either get it (or a variant of it) back in later tonight or tomorrow.

    Are you aware that military engineers can build roads? If you want to add a unit in specifically to build them, look at that unit, although I don't see why it would be needed myself.

      When I was working on this, I was way way overtired... so while I knew about the M.E.'s, I'd forgotten about them as I wrote this.

      As for why? I love roads! All over my kingdom! Makes moving troops during wartime super easy!
