Changelogs
Version 3.0
I'm back for a bit ! I decided to revisit this perset as I wanted to replay the game. And I noticed that something went horribly wrong with the way the game looks. I'm not sure whether that was how I intended the game to look (which I highly doubt) or something else. Either way, from what i recall when I was making 2.0, it didn't look the way it did to me now. Therefore I remade it for the third time with some new shaders and I've did my best to improve upon the already existing settings. So nothing will be needed to be disabled as this will aim to improve upon what exists.
The changelog:
~ Actually improved texture clarity for both far and up close without much noise.
~ Left in [for the most part] the entire color pallet, but changed the neon blue as in VGI 4.0 . This aims to fix some color inconsistencies that are normally present in earlier itterations of VGI.
~ Added a slight tint so that everything would look a little bit more surreal
~ Made darkness be desaturated by quite a bit. So night and dark areas will not be randomly colorful and instead a desaturated feel to area.
~ Made the game a bit brighter. So direct light will be shinning stronger onto the ground as well as the atmosphere.
~ Removed SMAA. It basically caused too many issues compared to any actual improvements
~ Improved overall performance by quite a bit.
~ the overall contrast of map should remain the same to textures instead of being overwhelmingly destructive.
~ adjusted all color saturation to fit with the original look to the game and the new SSAO.
~ Squashed bugs:
- bright sources like the sun have strange pixelation issues, this has been fixed with the new bloom
- some basic things not producing any type of light
- made the vending machines to produce a bit more light so that their broken bloom wouldn't be as noticable or overwhelming to look at.
Version 2.0
~ Complete rework of the previous version. This was built off the BL2 ReShade Preset of mine. However it didn't work fully the way I wanted it to so I had to make some major changes to achieve some cool things that I'll explain in this changelog. One main thing to add is that I heavily focused on returning the desaturated feeling to the game while spicing up other areas a bit. While at the same time correcting various colors and such.
~ I've deleted a lot of older shaders that were used in technique combo to achieve certain things like glowing lights and such. ~ I've toned down the amount of direct light strength ~ I've greatly reduced and removed major blooming in inventory and on the UI ~ I've greatly reduced the saturation on all colors and kept it to a custom minimum. ~ I've greatly reduced the amount of bloom is overall in the game. ~ I've implemented SMAA to replace FXAA which is of higher quality. ~ I've used a new technique to try and mimic a desaturated feel to the game while adding a tiny amount of coloring across everything. This in turn allows maps to have more of a color shade to them instead of having one monotone color across all of them.
Description: This ReShade preset focuses mainly on building a quality look of improvement to the game. It tries to go beyond what other presets are capable of while staying as consistent as possible. In this preset, I managed to create vibrantly desaturated environment without actually using much or at all saturation tools. This allows for everything to remain faded but slightly more colourful in addition of better lighting scheme with true darks and whites. Among other little things.
