Time for a mod manager update....right? Not so fast.... HBS has announced official mod support for BATTLETECH!
This is good news - As of 1.8 it is already included! - You will be able to apply mods from inside the game. - HBS will try not to break your game when they release new content and updates (mod aware). - you wont need a 3rd party tool like Mod Manager to manage your mods anymore.
Bad news: - ModLoader (HBS' version of ModTek) does not function as well as our awesome modding community would prefer, or as they expect. Maybe both. This means quite a few mods are not working yet with the new internal mod loading method, and therefore will need to be updated before they work right.
- When your favorite mods are updated, they will likely be updated to work with HBS's internal mod loader requiring you to install them into a new location. see more here -> https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?forums/battletech-mod-forum.1012/ Hopefully HBS will allow the mod folder location to be configurable so that you can just specify the same folder you are used to using. (*Fingers Crossed*)
- BATTLETECH Mod Manager likely won't be updated. I am not sure there will be a place for it in the future of HBS supported mods. Let me know if you think otherwise in the comments below.

"but wait, i'm not ready for change" you say? Have a look here to roll back your BATTLETECH version and continue enjoying things worry free until the modding community can get caught up with the new changes. --> https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/how-to-rollback-to-a-previous-patch-version.1112335/
I will keep an eye on the forums for the next few days and see if I can help people during the update frenzy.
Thank you everyone who endorsed and downloaded this mod while it was relevant! You all are awesome and I appreciate the support for my first ever published content.
If you haven't upgraded because your waiting for the dust to settle, why not kills some time by sharing a screenshot of the Mods you have installed via Mod Manager. It would be awesome to see what everyone is playing with. Cheers!
1/Download BattleTechMod Manager, during the installation when you have to enter the pass make attention to instal in the folder “*/BATTLETECH/” AND NOT “*/BATTLETECH/BattleTech Mod Manager”
2/When youfirst running “BattleTech Mod Manager” DON’T download modtek there is a problem with it. Instead goto the following address and follow the instruction https://github.com/BattletechModders/ModTek/releases
"BATTLETECH Mod Manager likely won't be updated. I am not sure there will be a place for it in the future of HBS supported mods." if you first would have cared to read the latest post from the mod dev, you yourself wouldn't have wasted your time
Installed per instruction, inside \Steam\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH, but it does not register mods inside Steam\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\mods, BTML or ModTec presence.
Heya, thank you for this mod and all the work put into it.
Is there a way to disable logging done by modtek?
I've found out how to disable the game's logging, but not for this mod.
I've got log files appearing in .modtek that are 50 MB and more. Trying to determine if excessive logging is causing the massive performance issues after playing this game for more than 30 mins at a time.
Yo had a similar problem when I first used it. Make sure it's on the proper drive if you're using steam it can be a bit fucky. Also make sure the files are actually in the same location as the actual game and not in their own folder.
I can connect my textures to replace the original ones. Can I connect part of the 3d model? Not replace the entire model, but only a part? What needs to be written in mod.json so that the game replaces models and textures with modified ones. I did not find any lessons.
Thanks for the answer. I am replacing mech textures with 4k in data / assetbundles and it works for me. But if I want to build a mod, I will need to use my modified files entirely, and there is no way to transfer only textures to the mod. Did I understand correctly?

All directories but I get this error
https://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/w32_malware.shtml
no solution, so uninstall, never looking at this crap again.

Makes. No. Sense.
anything related to modelling questions would be better served in discord where active modelers are
