By the way, translations of this mod are absolutely welcome (and I actually would really like for people to do so)!!!! Please let me know before you do, but it'd make me happy to know more people can be kinder to him, too, and not just in English. Let's all show Wyll some love together π
(Also, a couple fun facts completely unrelated to this mod, I just want to share πΆ The character using the tunic from More Mage Gear (I dyed it blue) was one of the first DND characters I ever made. And I actually made him for the same campaign that's part of Wyll's backstory!!!! It's, a little unfortunate that the easiest save I had to get that dialogue about not keeping secrets was his, though. He um. He's a (semi)ex-conman electric cowboy wizard extraordinaire, and has a bit of a...complicated relationship with the truth. It's even in his name, Jason; I named him after Jason and the golden fleece, because...fleecing people...
I have a soft spot for that campaign, both for my character, and now because of Wyll. The coincidence is so fun to me, even though I don't think they would've ended up meeting during it...)
I'm absolutely trying this!!! The only 'downside' I can see is some lines of dialogue taking up more space and causing a scroll but that's such a minor issue in comparison that who cares! Thanks for making this mod and sharing it!
Yes, both game and scrip extended are updated and I've no loose files but a couple of npc voice replacements (and this dialogues) I just moved all the mods from the folder to see if it fix the problem
Oh gosh, do you have any PAK mods that also edit text, like Show Approval Ratings In Dialogue? If so, you'll have to remove them from your mods folder entirely! Text edit mods function as overrides even if they aren't labeled as such in BG3 Mod Manager, and will affect your game even if they aren't in your mod load order. And it seems like PAK files aren't currently very compatible with the method I used for the mod, unfortunately, so you might have to remove them. I'm still trying to work that out!!!
Also I might have to clarify my instructions a little, I've had a couple people place the Localization folder in the .zip file into the existing Localization folder, which will prevent the mod from functioning! The folder heirarchy needs to be //Data/Localization/English/[the files for the mod], not //Data/Localization/Localization/English.
If neither of these are what's going on for you, let me know, and I can help troubleshoot further!!
Yes I double checked the folder paths and everything is where it's supposed to be π I've just a few mods touching dialogues (Astarion Bugbear Ogre Dialogue priority and Astarion kiss Dialogue Fix) but even if I drag them out of the mod folder it doesn't change anything and I still get the normal dialogues
Oh gosh...Are you removing any loose file mods you have when testing as well? I'd recommend actually moving your entire mods folder, as well as any loose file mods to another place on your computer, and seeing if that helps!! We'll know it's a mod conflict then. Also, do you have Script Extender installed? And is your game fully up to date?
Edit: oh by the way, the Astarion Kiss Dialogue Fix doesn't actually affect any localization files!! I didn't have to use them at all to fix up his reactions, and it should be fully compatible with this mod!! They don't affect any of the same files or dialogue lines.
Oh good luck!!!!!! Please let me know which one's the conflicting one, I'm still trying to figure out what's compatible with the method I'm using and what's not, so hopefully I can find a way to work on it!!!!
Oh thank you so much!!!!! I'm wondering if that mod includes another localization file? That might be overriding mine, I'll have to look more into it!! I'm so glad it's working for you now, though π!!! Have fun ;u;!!!!!! ππΆ
Oh if you'd like to keep that line, you can probably use the modder's guide I put together to make your own override! As long as your override is given a name that comes after mine alphabetically in your localization folder, it should restore the line. I'd really appreciate it if you kept the line in my override though! While I'm usually ok with modifications to my files, Especially for personal use, it'd make me happy knowing it's still there, even if it's being overridden. You do have my full permission to delete it from the mod, as long as it's for your own personal use and/or you're only sharing it with your friends, but, again, it'd still be nice for me to know it's still there!
You do absolutely have my full permission to upload any overrides you make, though! As long as your overrides don't contain my writing, you're absolutely welcome to share them. And if you'd like to make your own, and run into any trouble with the modder's guide, absolutely let me know! I can do my best to help you figure it out πΌ
Also ohhhh my goodness, did you send me a donation on ko-fi π₯Ί?? It's the same username; if you did, I can't tell you enough how much that means to me!!!!!! If you'd like me to doodle you anything, just let me know!!
Oh it didn't come across as complaining at all!!!! I just like helping people, especially with coding problems πΆ And oh my goodness, thank you so much!!!!!! Again, it really means just, so much to me π₯Ί Take care ok?? πΌπ
God thank you so much for this mod... I honestly avoid talking to him sometimes because I hate being mean to characters I care about and it feels so unnecessary!! I will download so I can endorse but I'll wait to use it for when I romance him (probably when the new patch drops since it says it will affect his romance) But I absolutely love this incentive so much!
I cannot WAIT to get this mod going in my games. it's so shocking and frustrating seeing how mean some of the dialogue was in comparison to the other companions. The only thing I can think of is that some of the dialogue could have been a hold over from his previous version, but STILL...
I hadn't noticed it before but...damn. The dialogue options do make the characters come off as dicks to Wyll. Poor dude needed this mod. Especially since I played a character who was an ass to everyone and Wyll more often than not just seemed to be like "ha yeah I totally deserved that." Dude needs nicer options and maybe a damn hug.

I hope there's a way to make them work together eventually (I really like some extra challenge) but I'd rather go without if it means I cannot get the nice dialogue options with Wyllπ€£π€£

and yes that was me ! you're always making great mods, it was about time I gave something back <3
But I absolutely love this incentive so much!
You are fantastic and I love you.
