About this mod

Makes Tavern Brawler function closer to tabletop. Your unarmed damage becomes 1d4 and you can use a bonus action to attempt to grapple a target you've hit with an unarmed attack during your turn.

Tavern Brawler
Source: Player's Handbook

Accustomed to rough-and-tumble fighting using whatever weapons happen to be at hand, you gain the following benefits:

  • Increase you Strength or Constitution score by 1, to a maximum of 20. (Implemented in base game.)
  • You are proficient with improvised weapons. (Taking this away from everyone else seems unnecessary, but I'll look into it since it's RAW.)
  • Your unarmed strike uses a d4 for damage.
  • When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike on your turn, you can use a bonus action to attempt to grapple the target.

Note: The combat log doesn't always show the correct DCs when the contested checks are rolled. This is an issue with the base game.

Grappled

A grappled creature's speed becomes 0, and it can't benefit from any bonus to its speed. The condition ends if the grappler is incapacitated. The condition also ends if an effect removes the grappled creature from the reach of the grappler, such as when a creature is hurled away by the thunderwave spell.

You can also carry the grappled creature around, so you can put them in hazards and keep them there.

Installation Instructions
I recommend installing with BG3 Mod Manager which can also install Script Extender (which is required by the grappling framework) for you. Load order shouldn't matter.
