🏁 The Impossible Challenge is now truly over! What will the next Tactician Enhanced update look like? 🏁
I finished verifying all submitted runs late Wednesday, and have since received enough responses from contestants that I now feel comfortable making this post. Two weeks after the deadline for full playthrough Impossible Challenge submissions, I am happy to finally and properly declare that the Impossible Challenge is concluded! I first made the Impossible Challenge as a bit of a meme whilst designing the settings presets for Tactician Enhanced, as I thought it would be funny to have a preset with all of the mod's settings maxed out. The reward offer within the description was always real, but it was originally planned to be something small, and only for a handful of winners at most. In the months that followed, multiple prominent figures from the BG3 challenge run community took on and defeated the challenge, including Morgana Evelyn, seihoukei, tbjq_quag, daaaaade, and more. Not only was it awesome to watch them take on the challenge, but they inspired their audiences to give it a go too, which led to there being over 40 winners split between more than 30 teams by the time the final deadline came!
I cannot overstate how grateful I am to this community and the way in which they turned this challenge into something special. Despite so many contestants, no two runs were ever the same. If I didn't know any better, you could convince me that I've seen every strategy, bug, and exploit BG3 has to offer. In a similar way to how the BG3 challenge run community took the Impossible Challenge well beyond my original intentions, I think it would be fitting if the rewards for the Impossible Challenge went beyond the piece of gear and statue I originally planned for. But before we talk about the Impossible Challenge rewards and what the next Tactician Enhanced update will look like, let's take a look at all of the winners!
🫅 The challenge winners by category. 🫅
"Regular Version" refers to the original version of the Impossible Challenge which only required you to kill the final bosses of acts 2 and 3, and which allowed the usage of whitelisted gameplay mods to make setup faster.
"Full Playthrough Version" refers to the version of the challenge which required contestants to complete the ENTIRE game, with virtually all gameplay mods banned. Whitelisted gameplay mods from the Regular Version were included in the ban.
Please keep in mind the names on this list may be modified as I continue to get responses from winning contestants and they provide me with their preferred names!

❓ What will the next Tactician Enhanced update look like? When will it come out? ❓
The rewards for the Impossible Challenge winners will be my focus for the next Tactician Enhanced update, which will recognize their victory in game! Here are the rewards I'm planning on adding to this mod in the next major update:
• Two new pieces of legendary gear, each to honour the first winning team in each category. One is a ranged weapon, the other is a pair of (invisible 😉) boots. SuperVegha, Floki_Prime, and Morgana Evelyn helped make decisions about their respective gear!
• In-game statues of every winner, based off their avatar from their run.
• In addition to the originally promised rewards, I will also be adding a new quest which will have you finding every statue to get the aforementioned new gear.
These are not my only plans for the next big update, but I do promise everything here will be included. Whether or not I do my other plans will depend on whether I run into certain technical constraints and how time consuming they end up being.

[THIS SECTION IS A CONTINUATION OF THE ORIGINAL POST]
In regards to when the update will be releasing, I will not be providing any dates whatsoever, as I believe doing so would be both pointless and irresponsible. Through both some of my previous modding projects and even many of the dates I set during various points of this challenge, I couldn't give an accurate date of when something will be done if my life depended on it. At the end of the day, modding BG3 is a hobby I do because this is my favorite game. Life has a habit of getting in the way, and my real world goals and responsibilities must always come first, especially as a college student.
There's also just the fact that adding time pressure makes this significantly less fun to do. Honestly, as much as I love what became of the Impossible Challenge, it has actually caused me to become the most stressed out I've been in a long time. Verifying each run was a multi-hour effort, and when combined with the time I've spent working on the mod and writing posts like this, the pressure to get the winners announcement out as quickly as possible started to break me. There were many points during this process where I wondered if I had made a huge mistake, because I wasn't having fun anymore. Sometimes working on this project even felt downright dreadful. As I said, modding is my hobby, not my job. I would hate to lose my passion for doing this because self-imposed deadlines made modding start to feel like work.
The next big update will release when it is ready, and will be worked on at a comfortable pace when I am able to work on it.
That said, there is some information I can give in regards to the timing and my plans for development updates:
• The earliest the update will be releasing is in Summer, due to the amount of contestants I'm making rewards for and the amount of content being added. This update could easily constitute it's own separate mod!
• I may release smaller updates before the rewards update for the sake of fixing bugs and adding minor content. So if you see Tactician Enhanced has an update available in the mod manager, don't assume until you check.
• While I won't ever be giving a release date for this update, that doesn't mean I'll be going dark on the project until it's done! I plan on putting out a few development updates every month (1-3). Each update will contain screenshots and/or a note on how development is progressing. Check this post again a few times a month if you ever get curious!
• I will be privately reaching out to winners to share their statue with them anytime I finish creating a statue. If you're one of the winners, watch out for that.
Speaking of development updates, I do have one last thing I'd like to share with you. I would like to give you a preview of what these statues will look like in-game by showing you the ones I created for SuperVegha, Floki_Prime, and Morgana Evelyn! These are not the only statues I've created so far, but I don't want to give too much away at the moment. I hope this makes you look forward to the full update. Take care everyone!
SuperVegha and Floki_Prime
Morgana Evelyn
More statues and other development updates will be shared in the future!
Thank you so much to everyone who donates on Ko-Fi to help support these mods. Donations from players help me spend more time making free mods for everyone!
Every month I give prominent thanks on all my mod pages to individuals who share their username when they make a donation. Here's everyone who publicly donated in April, sorted by amount donated:
If you want to give thanks for any enjoyment my mods have given you, help support my future modding, and/or get your username featured on my mod pages for a month, consider buying me a coffee via a one-time donation on Ko-Fi! (You do not need an account to make a donation.)
I don't know whats going on. I got Honor Mode Owlbear fight and Ring of Flinging is Rare which only happens on Honor Mode. I can save and load normally and I double checked I didnt accidently pick Honor Mode yesterday when I started. Could be some other mod of course but nothing else affect game difficulty or balance so this is my first guess. Im usin the static 35% hp increase and I have 6 party members if that helps.
I have the same problem. Using BG3 Mod Manager and for a time it seems that the mod manager had the mod honourmodeX or something similar build into. The new version does not. I use tacticianPlus and not this Mod, but it seems I do.
I wish I could delete this, but I can answer my own question. The whitelisted mods were for if you recorded the end boss fights of Act 2 and 3. They were listed on a post 06 Dec 2024, 5:58AM:
Whitelisted mods allowed in this challenge are available in the official BG3 mod manager:
Carry_Weight_Extra
DebugBook
Infinite Arrows
Infinite Elixirs
Unlimited Potions
Cheaters Spell Scroll - Formerly Cheaters Ring (NOTE: You are only allowed to use this mod as a means to get items before the fight. No Act 3 items in Act 2 unless you can actually get it earlier, like Helldusk Armour and Silver Sword )
UI mods across the board are fine, but the must be from the in-game mod manager.
Please keep in mind that the "Full Playthrough" version of the Impossible Challenge was more restrictive: less mods are allowed (ONLY UI mods and mods to make the game more difficult)
It has been a long time since I played with Combat Extender, and I never completed the game with Tactician Enhanced. So I am going to do that this time. CE will handle the level scaling and TE will handle the health as my party grows. (So far the default scaling per party size, but I might play around with the settings.)
Any way, I would like to ask if load order of TE matters with the difficulty enhancing mods I currently use in my new game? At the moment, the difficulty enhancing mods I use are in this order for now ... (Forget that Expansion is between those mods. )
https://imgur.com/vjMKlxU
is this good or does it actually not matter where TE is in the load order?
Trying to play with a mac player through the in-game mod manager whose version is only 1.1 while I am. There isn't any option to downgrade before hosting for crossplay, so we aren't able to use. Any way around this without having to move everything to vortex?
Mod works good But "Sleep" spell is useless now because all enemies have more than 24 HP I am not sure... but gnoll Flind does not lose extra HP and actions if you order him to attack other gnolls. Maybe a bug
I appreciate the dynamic nature of this mod! Using health only auto-scaling right now. Would love an adjacent AC+DC option (could be implemented as a penalty to party attack rolls and spell save DC, whatever is easiest) going like:
Up to four party members --> +1 AC, +1 enemy DC Six party members --> +2 AC, +2 enemy DC Eight --> +3 AC, +3 enemy DC Ten --> +4 AC, +4 enemy DC
with the idea being that since you have more party members and thus more attacks, you should miss/fail to apply a few more of them to maintain difficulty.
It is possible using other mods, but your implementation is very smooth!
Thank you again for this mod, takes a lot of the manual busywork out of re-adjusting values every time you grab a new party member.
Thank you so much! What you described is actually already planned with add-ons in the future, though it won't be soon since my primary concern with Tactician Enhanced right now is the Impossible Challenge Rewards update, which is already an extraordinary amount of work.
Don't know if you saw my previous comment but I'll also make it a post here: I saw what you said that you think the approval will be out next week but do you think I could play it now for Patch 8 as is on Xbox or just wait for it to be updated next week for Xbox?
It should be mostly fine, though you may have problems with activating the passive after you load the game or switch levels. If you're going to use v1.1.1 on Patch 8, I recommend spending some time configuring the mod immediately after you load in, in case you can't change things later.

ive been using this mod since forever and if theres no need to change, the better :)
your other mod Adjustable Party Limit sounds very tempting though with all those "bug fixes"
definitely on the next playthrough
