From WolfsQuill's post on Bay's Alien Isolation Overhaul V2, there's a duplicate </Setting> on lines 221 and 222 (near the end), that's what breaks the sound settings.
Open "ENGINE_SETTINGS" ("ENGINE_SETTINGS.XML" if you have file extensions on) with Notepad, Notepad++ or Visual Studio, delete one of the duplicate lines, then save. If you want it handled by a mod manager, add the edited file back into the archive (WinRAR), or make your own archive with 7Zip or something, or right-click -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder, then rename it. As Arysse pointed out the "duplicate" should be closing the graphics section before the Audio section. Leaving it unaltered and tabbing the four lines of <Setting name="Multithreaded Shadow Rendering"> and it's closing </setting> seems to be working just fine too.
I have now launched into the game and tested it. The mod is correct, there are no problems with the sound settings. And if you open the original settings file, the exact same values are prescribed there by the developer. What makes you think it's a bug? Notice that you're the only one writing about it.
i love this mod and especially the RTX reflections look so real thank you! ..i will reference my gameplay video here for the mod - https://youtu.be/lifduIRYlAA?si=EO2SyHN05rpCi9_I
you can see the RTX already at the start after minut - 3:56
Mod looks and runs great, thank you! I've got one small issue. With depth of field on, the lower half of the screen goes black when in a cutscene, death animation, or using the tracker. Disabling DoF fixes it. Thanks!
