   Will this modification work on a dedicated server? If I modify the xml or install this premoded one, will the dedicated server stop spawning these zombies or any others I may want to remove or replace on my private dedicated server I run at home for friends and family to play on?

      It should work just fine on a DS. Servers push the xml files to clients. No one should see them spawn on your DS.
