Is this available with QMM on legacy? It doesnt really say that it doesn't although I'm not sure if it goes into the Qmods or BepInEx folder.

Yes, this works on legacy as a BepInEx plugin compatible with QMM. Install it to the BepInEx\plugins folder.

You will need to use the BepInEx pack for the game alongside QMM. Since you bring up legacy, I assume you are referring to using this on Subnautica, not Below Zero? Make sure to follow the steps for legacy compatibility in the installation instructions for the Subnautica BepInEx pack. You will likely find it easier to install with Vortex and the Subnautica Support Vortex extension, which takes care of this process for you, and knows which folder to install this mod into.

Which plugins do you have installed? They only show up if they are using BepInEx for config.

To close out of it, you simply click outside of it.

This is not intuitive. I tried everything I could think of and eventually ended up here in desperation. Yes clicking outside the window closes it but there's nothing to indicate that and I can't recall ever encountering that method of closing a window (there's always a button on Win, OSX, Linux, Unix to close a window).

Install Instructions say, "Extract the contents of the archive into [game dir]\BepInEx" So I put the zip file in [game dir]\BepInEx ... and extracted them .. etc. Windows does not extract the two files (.dll & .xml) into the plugin folder ... it just extract the folder Configuration Manager-1112-17-1-0-tweaks-1-2-0-1674948068 ... so some people may get confused, and thus it will not work. At any rate, they need to go into [game dir]\BepInEx\plugins ... and it works when I hit f5. But SubnauticaModManager tells me they need to be in a folder ... so do I ignore SubnauticaModManager or put them in a folder??? Or do they go in-game dir]\BepInEx\plugins\Tobey folder?

All 3 methods work it is just that when they are not inside a folder
SubnauticaModManager gets an error stating they need to be in a folder. Want to avoid breaking the game down the road so to speak ...

"Extract the contents into X" means "take whatever is inside of the .zip and put it inside X."

If you use "Extract All..." Windows by default makes a new folder with the name of the .zip. Inside that folder is the contents. So the "intended" thing to do in that case would be to take whatever is inside of that folder Windows created, and put that inside the BepInEx/plugins folder.

However, it doesn't really matter to Configuration Manager if they are in a folder within BepInEx/plugins or not. As long as they are in BepInEx/plugins or a subfolder of BepInEx/plugins, it works. So it doesn't really matter if people use "Extract All..." or "Extract Here..." or "Extract to..." or similar in this case. Or even if they double click the .zip and drag the files out. As long as the Configuration Manager files are somewhere within BepInEx/plugins, all is good.

Some mods do care exactly where they are placed within BepInEx/plugins, particularly if they are reading/writing configuration files in the same folder, or if they are loading assets from the same folder, and the mod author is somewhat inflexible about the paths of these files. Configuration Manager however is flexible, i.e. it doesn't care.

As for Subnautica Mod Manager, I have no idea why it is saying that. I don't use it. The mod is clearly working regardless. So it is something to do with how Subnautica Mod Manager operates. You should direct that question to the author of Subnautica Mod Manager. Likely he is trying to enforce his own opinions about how mods should be organised inside the BepInEx/plugins folder. For what reason? I do not know. I'm not particularly interested in complying with arbitrary rules laid down by some other mod that has nothing to do with mine.

If you want to put them in a folder to comply with Subnautica Mod Manager, then by all means, feel free to do so.

Yes, I sent a mesage to the creator but have not recieved a reply yet. I will follow your directions ... I like using it to help identify problems being able to disable\enable quickly helps a bit. But once I have tested all the mods I want to use for the game ... it's pretty much no longer needed. Thanks for the quick response ... !

The most likely cause for this is either you don't have the BepInEx pack, or you installed QMM after installing the BepInEx pack (which means effectively, you don't have the BepInEx pack anymore, because you overwrote BepInEx 5.4.21 with BepInEx 5.4.19 when you installed QMM).

If that is the cause, the solution is to reinstall BepInEx pack, overwriting all files.

This does not fix the problem. Mouse still invisible.

xtchizobr, the problem you are describing is not the same as the one described by COSplayer2212.

      He said "mousepointer is appears."
You are now saying "Mouse still invisible."

So of course a potential solution to a different problem did not solve your problem.

      It's likely a PEBCAK footgun you're experiencing.

Do you, by chance, have a folder or file named "ConfigurationManager" in your plugins folder (from installing the vanilla, non-Subnautica fork of Configuration Manager)? If so, delete it. If not, it would be useful to see your log file, found at [game folder]/BepInEx/LogOutput.log. You can upload it to gist.github.com or pastebin.com and then share it here, will make it easier for me to see what's going on.

Otherwise, you can join the Subnautica Modding discord server for help with this and other user errors.

its confusing to me? when u extract the files there is no directory after the plugins directory.  usually there's one extra folder with the same name as the file. do we make up the folder and put the files in it? or do the files go into the plugins directory as loose files with out folder?

    Tried both ways and nothing.
    Prob. dosen;t work.

In this case the files go loose in the plugins folder, or you can put them in a folder if you want, it doesn't matter.
      It works either way.

But you need to have the BepInEx pack installed, which has the latest version of BepInEx. It doesn't work with the BepInEx that comes with QMM.

So if you installed QMM after the BepInEx pack and overwrote files, you now have the OLD BepInEx version, not the new one, which Configuration Manager needs.

OR, if you installed BepInEx after QMM but chose NOT to overwrite files, then you still don't have the new version of BepInEx.

Solution is reinstall the BepInEx pack and overwrite files.

Or install everything with Vortex. Much easier to get it right.

I have a few Qmod mods and BepinEx mods installed on legacy.  When I hit F5 and check debug mode, there are 0 mods listed.  If I removed QmodManager and start the game, F5 shows all my BepinEx mods and setting.  Re-adding QmodManager reverts to menu working, but empty again.  Debug log shows BepinEx is loaded and loads QModManager, but I can't figure this out.  The moment I enable QmodManager, none of the BepinEx mods load.  I'm at a loss for words and I'm losing my sanity.  Please help, ...  please.

Never heard of this one, my best guess is are you sure you're on legacy? Because if you're not, that would explain why QMM is breaking things.

Seeing some of those logs might help. Would be a good idea to upload the log from running with qmm enabled on pastebin and link it.

      Hiya, thanks for reaching out.

It turns out that on macOS, the Below Zero process name is different than it is on Windows etc., and this prevents QMM, Configuration Manager and some other BepInEx plugins from loading on Below Zero for macOS.

I have determined a fix for the issue and will be releasing it as an update to the macOS BepInEx pack soon.

Just wanted to let you know that an update to the BepInEx pack has been released which should address the issue preventing QModManager, Configuration Manager and a few other BepInEx plugins from loading on macOS BZ. If you still have issues after reinstalling the latest BepInEx pack, please let me know.

Sounds like you didn't install it right. Not much I can work with without a log file or something. Be easier if you were on the Subnautica Modding discord server (https://discord.gg/UpWuWwq) because then we can provide troubleshooting help in real-time.

If you have QMM installed as well, reinstall BepInEx pack. You are supposed to install that after QMod Manager

Hi. Pressing the F5 key displays the console, but I dont have a mouse cursor to click anything. The only thing I can do is type into the search box. Is there a shortcut to 'release' the cursor to allow me to click the various options? Thanks.

If it's in-game, might need to pause with escape before you hit F5.

When I'm back from my holidays I intend to make an update for the Subnautica fork of Configuration Manager to take care of little things like this automatically

This sounds like an installation issue. I would suggest heading to the Subnautica Modding discord server and asking for help in one of the #help-and-support channels where you will likely find the cause and a solution to the issue much faster than is possible on here.
