Thank you for your kind words and feedback!

    FAQ:
    Spoiler:
    Show
Q: Is this mod compatible with that mod?
A: Probably yes. Check the description page, please.

Q: Does this work on 21:9 or 32:9 aspect ratio?
    A: Yes.

Q: How to make menus semi-transparent?
A: You can open the file "interface\deardiary_dm\config.txt", find TRANSPARENCY section there (at the very bottom of list). Set transparency of any menu as you like and save the file.

Q: Health, Stamina and Magicka values stay the same no matter what in stats menu.
A: You've chosen the Extended UI option for the stats menu, while not having the Extended UI mod installed.

Q: The skill name doesn't change as you navigate left/right between the trees in the stats menu.
A: You've chosen the Extended UI option for the stats menu, while not having the Extended UI mod installed.

Q: My HUD disappeared after I installed this mod.
A: You have iHUD installed and didn't install SkyHUD with iHUD patch. Please install SkyHUD and select iHUD patch in its FOMOD. Then let Dear Diary DM overwrite it.

Q: Menus open with huge delay (up to 1-5 seconds).
A1: Make sure you have SkyUI installed. Dear Diary DM can work without it but with wierd bugs such as this.
A2: Make sure your HDD is not dead. Most menu files are loaded from the hard drive every time you open them.

Q: How to bring back Quick Save button in system menu?
A: You can open the file "interface\deardiary_dm\config.txt", find the line bQuickSaveButton = false and change it to true

Q: The mod is not working, some menus are still not covered after installation.
A: Place Dear Diary DM at the very bottom of your mods load order in Mod Organizer 2, or let Dear Diary overwrite everything in Vortex. There are some exceptions, please read the description.

Q: White texts in inventory menus with golden texts option installed.
A: Some of your mods has the file "interface\skyui\config.txt" in it. Let Dear Diary overwrite them.

Q: There is no Creation Club in the main menu.
A: Reinstall choosing the option with CC support in FOMOD.

Q: I have "Take Notes - Dragonborn Journal" mod, and when the journal is open, only the right-hand page is visible, the left-hand page is off the side of the screen.
A: Use SHIFT + ARROW KEYS to move journal manually.

Q: Does the paper map mods supported?
    A: Yes.

Q: Does the Creation Club Survival Mode supported?
    A: Yes.

    Q: Frostfall?
A: Yes (both inventory and HUD meters).

    Q: Extended UI
    A: Yes.

Few words regarding the "squishing" issue introduced with 1.6.1130+ update of the game.

With the release of the 1.6.1130+ update, Bethesda have changed the UI scaling logic in the game. This way they "fixed" the UI on screens with aspect ratios larger than 16:9 (so called ultrawide). But they "fixed" it in a very stupid way. See, now, for example, using the basic SkyUI or even the vanilla Skyrim UI, with a 21:9 screen, the user interface will be simply stretched horizontally. All the UI elements on screen will be stretched. Bethesda use the same ingenious solution in Starfield and in the infamous "next-gen" patch for Fallout 4.

Therefore, old mods that fixed the UI for ultrawide aspect ratios no longer work. The fix built into Dear Diary Dark Mode does not work as well. I won't go into detail, the point is that previously it was enough to make the menu compatible with a very large aspect ratio (for example, 32:9, like in my mod), and all aspect ratios up to this one worked as intended. And with the 1.6.1130+ patch the UI image with this ratio (32:9) will be squished to 16:9, which leads to the mentioned problem.

As a temporary solution, you can use this fix: Dear Diary DM and Paper (Squish) Fixes

If you return to this incredible work of yours, I'd kill to see a patch for E.S.L.A Elder Scrolls Levelling and Attributes.

A small request. Could you include the patch described here for comapitibility with that mod. All it does is stop the hud bars from dissapearing if they are not changing but aren't full. For compatibility with mods that remove natural regeneration for health magicka or stamina. Shouldn't requiere anything ad won't break anything without those mods.

Hm. This mod works, and it looks fantastic, but I noticed a few issues into my new mage run:

    1. SkyUI's options in MCM/Mod Configuration are simply... blank. I can see "General" and "Advanced" and can select either, but there is absolutely nothing there, no options to even change. However, this seems to be a common issue with SkyUI now, and I have yet to find anyone who's discovered a solution to this issue (maybe it can't be fixed).

    2. The "Active Effects" are not displaying. That is, icons and timers for spell duration, food, potions, etc. All gone.

I had a game going before 1.6.1170, but then Bethesda just had to drop that patch and kill all the mods, so I just uninstalled the game and gave it time (this is before I learned how to make the manifest read-only). So I have no idea if problem #2 is just a new SkyUI issue, or if it's another mod causing it. I don't see anyone talking about missing active effects anywhere. I managed to find exactly one post somewhere else, but that person got no response.

I guess I'm going to uninstall and start over, and test one mod at a time until I find the culprit. It could very well be that SkyUI simply has no active effects anymore, but I would think this would be a big issue for more than just me...

I know that SkyHUD is pretty much taken over by this mod, so I don't think that's it. But it could be TrueHUD. I got TrueHUD for Curated Bosses. And MCM Helper (I got the Backport for TrueHUD, per a post in the forum because the current version of TrueHUD breaks it). I guess that could be it... Guess I'll find out today as I experiment.

Hm, well I did a clean install and did not install MCM Helper 1.5.97 Backport + TrueHUD + Curated Bosses, and now everything is working. I don't know for sure which of those mods broke my s**t, but it had to be one of them since they're the only 3 I left out this time.

Everything's working beautifully. All I need is a good colored icon mod for SkyUI and I'm set.

I looked in the config file but I cannot find an option to revert the clean start menu back to the full start menu with the buttons for Creations Mods and such. Can someone help me out?

This mods Dialogue option may be incompatible with Dragonborn Voice Over. No audible lines are said by the player, at least in my game.
What fixed it for me was simply not choosing the Dialogue option from Dear Diary FOMOD.

Hey so I ran into a REALLY weird issue that makes this mod replace the ui even after i remove the mod xD Idk how to fix it actually since it also makes my game crash. I've tried reinstalling the mod to fix it because I really like how everything looks but it's giving me too many issues that I don't know how to fix yet.
    Any help?

When installing SkyHUD, I understand that I'm supposed to let this mod overwrite its files.

But when I install SkyHUD, do I just install the main file? Or should I also get its update/patch that includes "missing components"?

Asking for a friend... who lives in my head.

Hi. It doesn't really matter as Dear Diary DM will overwrite the hudmenu.swf file (included in the update) anyways.

This mod is just wonderful, I gotta say. Where I live right now, it's the rainy part of the year (lots of storms) and I tend to get migraines. I noticed that the white-on-black default Skyrim UI was causing blurred vision and vertigo during this time. But this mod? Made it all go away. I really love the color scheme and layout, and the sound effects kind of remind me of old school games like Daggerfall.

One thing I have noticed, though. The spell buff/debuff and conjuration timers are missing on the HUD. I remember them being there with just SkyUI alone (well, before this last Bethesda patch, at least). But this could be a design of your mod, I'm not sure. Going to do some digging. Maybe it's a configuration thing?
