Please refer to the description page for details. Also, review the thread on the original mod page for issues before posting here. I will answer questions when I am able to. I hope everyone enjoys it.
I have been having success with import/export functionality by installing FISS for SE after this mod and overwriting the files. If anyone else can confirm this please let us know here. I don't want to say this is working properly until I hear back from others.
***PLEASE READ BELOW IF YOU ARE REPORTING A BUG*** If you are going to report a bug please let me know all mods you have installed and their load order for me to properly investigate the issue. It's very hard to duplicate any issues you are having if I don't know your setup.
***Notes about Controller Support*** I cannot support controllers as I do not use one. In addition, all of the source code for this mod was lost and LordConti himself had a very hard time with the limited controller support this mod does have. If you are using a controller I would like to recommend that you visit the oldrim page for this mod and browse through the posts as there were many people who had issues with controllers and some of them had resolutions.
***Additional Notes*** I am working on redoing this mod from the ground up. It is rather difficult as I do not have any source code to go on, but I am making some progress. * The new version will not have controller support...ever. I'm sorry but I do not use a controller and the idea of this mod is to type...that means keyboard. * It is nearly impossible to make this an in-game book that you can write to. Please stop asking. There have multiple people...better and more knowledgeable people than me who have tried to come up with ideas of how to implement this and due to Skyrim's engine it is nearly impossible. I can possibly make a utility that once you export a journal you can create your own book and load it into your game as a completed or published journal like any other mod, but that's about the only way to do it. If you export the mod you can open up the CK yourself and make your own mod with your journal very easily. I would encourage you to try it and get some experience making something for yourself. * The new version will only have one layout similar to the book layout of this mod.
For everyone who has requests for changes and additions to be made to this mod, please note there will not be any other development involved with this version. The source code was lost long ago and it's too much of a pain to decompile the flash file just to change an image or something like that. I wanted to respond to all of you who have had requests. Someday I will work on the next version, but with the way things are right now I am on a little vacation from gaming in general.
The AE version of the mod is up and I would like others to make sure it works for them. This is a simple update to make it work with the new update. Currently I only have SKSE64 (for AE), FISSES, SkyUI, and Take Notes installed on my game and everything works just like the SE and LE versions of the mod. If you have any issues please let me know what they are. Everything seemed to work perfectly for me with these mods installed. If you have a mod conflict please let me know which mods it conflicts with and I will try to replicate the issue and fix it if possible.
Thanks to xcal68 for making a quick update on the mod to address the squish problem with the newest version of Skyrim. You will still need the main file. This only affect those who are running the newest version of Skyrim. If you haven't updated your game you do not need the new file.
I love this mod but I don't understand the export and import function. Shouldn't it give you the option of bringing back text you've already written so you can write from there? Does anyone know if there is a patch or add-on that might let it work like that? Importing it back doesn't nothing.
I've been using this mod for ages, both LE and SE, but suddenly have a problem. I can write in the journal and that entry will be saved, but as soon as I turn to a new page or chapter, I can no longer access the previous one. Does anyone else have this same issue?
I just found out about this mod and I installed it including the Squish Fix as my game version is 1.6.1170, but the Journal was still squished when I opened it for the first time. I tried reinstalling the mod without the squish fix and now it works correctly. If anyone has the same problem, try doing that!
This is something you would need to ask the author of Sky Souls about. I have never used it, but according to the description of that mod there is an INI file which you can customize to enable or disable it for each menu. May be they would know a way to do what you ant to do.
I cant get this working in VR... I can keybind: load, close, toggle chapter, start a new note, etc... but I cant actually type anything in the note. There is a cursor on the page, but when I type on the keyboard nothing shows up. Wondering if anyone has gotten this to work.
Take Notes doesn't close. I'm able to type text perfectly, but when I want to exit the journal, I'm unable to, no matter what keys I press. I'm on 1.5.97 by the way.

It doesn't remember any entry after loading the last save.edit: It remembers if the player remembers to click on "Accept" and not simply TAB out! :)
Is it possible to add in a new chapter for the book?
