    There's an LE mod called Daggercross Alley that places a few shady characters back there, but it's never been ported to SE.  I have a self-ported version that I use, but it's a compatibility nightmare because of landscape edits.  I might see if this and that play nicely together.

    This is very much needed! For those using NGIO and the precache, you'll need to regenerate your cache otherwise you'll get floating grass.

    A couple things that might need to be addressed... JKs Skyrim and Cutting Room floor affect that pathway, at least my JK/CRF patch (JKs Skyrim_Cutting Room Floor_Patch.esp) from JKs Skyrim has objects there::

    Finally, the "Full - Name" value on the Worldspace/3C record was changed from "Skyrim" to another language.

      Thank you for the feedback! This is my first mod and basically I had very little idea what I was doing so I might need help with that latter part. As for the compatibility patching I don't mind someone else making them since I am in the process of putting together a new modlist myself that does not include either JK's Riften or Cutting Room Floor.

      It's really easy to fix the deleted reference and ITMs, just use the SSEEditQuickAutoClean.exe app in xedit and it does it automatically. If I have time I'll make a patch for the clutter in the road. Thanks for this mod!

      The Riften Detour is a great idea!
      I have JK's Skyrim (but not Riften Outskirts), so I guess I should wait for a patch.

    So if I'm seeing correctly, Riften Eastern Road connects the roads together without staying close to the walls, while this connects the roads in a way that hugs the walls of the city?

      Not exactly. This mod only provides the road connection from the south gate to the eastern gate that is inaccessible in vanilla. Riften Eastern Road goes up further north additionally to connect with the northern entrance. It's a bit older and some of the terrain is a little messy. My mod should theoretically be more compatibility-friendly and you can use it alongside JK's Riften Outskirts that has a road that connects the eastern gate to the northern gate.

      I prefer this mod because it's more compatible, Riften Eastern Road conflicts with A Cat's Life which places its cat store in that road.

      Thank you! I'm using a combination of Tamrielic Textures and Skyland for the landscapes and Blended Roads for... the roads. The grass mod I'm using is Northern Grass.
