  • Compatibility Wizard script is finished

    http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/16815-1-1358155662.jpg

The TES5Edit Compatibility Wizard script is now released, even better than the prototype version.

The previous article mentioned that processing Skyrim Scaling Stopper Dawnguard edition, processing 2238 records took 2 minutes and 19 seconds. The release version, processing 2320 records, took only 1 minute and 36 seconds. An astounding improvement, to say the least.

Usage of this script requires at least basic understanding of TES5Edit. Since improper usage can and will lead to plugin corruption and cause General Bad Things to happen, this script does not come with a Pictorial Guide. Instead, it comes with a README containing the installation and usage guide, in text form.

  • Compatibility Wizard TES5Edit Script is in the works

In short, a TES5Edit script that will modify a plugin to work with PCEAr.

It will seek out Leveled Items and Outfit records, check for any items that are supported, and swap them out with the custom version. It's magic, is what it is.

As a reminder, PCEAr 2.0's incompatibility comes from the fact that it modifies Leveled List and Outfit records, which big mods tend to use. The script will modify those to include PCEAr's armor sinstead of vanilla ones, automating and completing a task that would take modders days or even weeks in a matter of minutes

The script has been tested to work with Skyrim Scaling Stopper - Dawnguard edition, completing LVLI parsing and replacement procedure in only 2 minutes 19 seconds; Skyrim Scaling Stopper edits ...

  • Version 2.0 is live!

    http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/16815-1-1358155662.jpg

After a few polishes here and there, version 2.0 is now ready for release. BE SURE TO READ THE README!

As has been mentioned multiple times previously, there is a major change in PCEAr's system, hence the major version increment. The article can be read here

That article was written quite a long time ago, and although it mostly holds true, a few small things has changed. Most notably, USKP dependency has been dropped, as Unofficial Patches are not actually needed. For this same reason, dependency on Update.esm has been dropped across the board. Official DLCs themselves require Update.esm though

Dragonborn support doesn't require PCEAr 2.0. Users who wish to ...

  • Dragonborn module is finished, version 2.0(1.5) will soon be released

    http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/16815-1-1358155662.jpg

    Hello, this is Raestloz writing.

I have news for you (dun dun dun dun...)

    Dragonborn module is finished

After months of inactivity and slow progress, the Dragonborn module is finally done. This effectively marks PCEAr as finished, as Dragonborn is the last official DLC. The road has been long and tedious, but everything was worth it.

It has to be noted that I - even now as of this writing - have never touched Dragonborn in-game. In fact, I have never launched Skyrim after I updated to 1.9, so quirks is to be expected. I have learned from mistakes of the past, so Dragonborn module is a lot more polished (nomenclature wise). As usual, enchanted armors ...

  • Dragonborn support is now officially underway

    http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/16815-1-1358155662.jpg

    Hello, this is Raestloz writing.

I've just finished the Dawnguard module for PCEAr 1.5, and Hearthfire too (actually, the Hearthfire module only contains one change). Now, with everything else done, I can start working on Dragonborn support.

    What's New?
Not much. Version 1.2 of Dawnguard module supports the bloody prisoner rags and shoes, and that's about it.

I've had Dragonborn for quite some time now, but I actually have never touched Skyrim ever since I got Dragonborn, which is the case when I worked on Dawnguard module.

In short, I'll just shoot in the blank and hope nothing's amiss. You can still expect armor tempering sup...

  • PCEAr 1.5 core is finished

    http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/16815-1-1358155662.jpg

    Hello, this is Raestloz writing

2 months ago, I announced (quite ambitiously, I might add) that PCEAr will undergo a major change

2 months ago, I got Guild Wars 2 as a gift

2 months later, My GW2 characters are underway to 80 and I barely finished the core of PCEAr 1.5

    And the core is?

The Core module of PCEAr handles the vanilla content, the ones without DLCs. As noted, PCEAr 1.5 will be incompatible with any mod out there that modifies Outfits (OTFT) and Leveled Items (LVLI)

Throughout the development of PCEAr 1.5, I decided to support more armors to better fit the system. To be perfectly honest, i forgot to document them,...

  • Heads up for armor procurement system: A major change in the system

    http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/16815-1-1358155662.jpg

Hello, this is Raestloz writing. I'm writing this to tell you users that there will be a major change in PCEAr's system.

    1. The Problem
Currently, the NPCs use the normal armors while we users have to use the custom armors with custom paths, causing all sorts of compatibility problems with other mods, most notably smelting mods and community bug fixes.

I've been content with the way things work, but I wonder myself just how long I can keep this up. I'm working on Dragonborn support and I realize that if more DLCs come, and more mods that need original armor entries are released, the harder I'll need to work to maintain compatibility.

    I realize ...

  • Plans for future features: v1.5, smelting mod and MCM.

    http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/16815-1-1358155662.jpg

PCEAr now has a brand new banner and a demo video. Yes, I'm committing myself to developing it.

Version 1.5.0 is underway. By itself it's a minor update that redirects Radiant Raiment's Fine Clothes, joining the merry band of Nightingale, Guildmaster and Party outfits. But it also has exciting new features planned for it. Read on for more.

    1. PCEAr's very own smelting mod
All this time I've been using a modified version of Val's Crafting Meltdown for all my smelting needs. It does its job, but I figure it's time I do something about it, so I'm creating a smelting mod to deal with this issue. A no-nonsense smelting mod that adds one and only one ...

  • Update 1.4.1, new redirection decision, and more

PCEAr has been updated to 1.4.1. It's a little update that supports 4 new unique armors: General Tullius' Armor, Ebony Mail, and Party outfits (body and boots)

As a reminder, if you missed update 1.4.0 (or just plain a new user), Nightingale and Guildmaster armors are not redirected the "conventional" way. They will still use the original ARMO, only they'll have new ARMA for you to fiddle with. This is to allow them to be recognized by the quests they're needed in.

What does this mean? This means, they'll conflict with any other mod that modifies those armors. Off the top of my head, USKP already conflicts with Guildmaster armor.

Since USKP always loads after PCEAr's master, you'll need to create a plugin that intentionally...

  • Version 1.3 is out, along with Dawnguard support

I'm pleased to announce that version 1.3 is out, with an exciting new feature: switching custom armors back to vanilla ones! This is for those times when you really need that vanilla armor but only have the custom ones instead, like those TG quests or for melting down like Val's Crafting Meltdown.

Of course, the same rules apply: all enhancements will be gone. But the same speed also applies!

Also, I'm pleased to announce Dawnguard support. It comes in the form of an .esm for you to create an extension from. Just as the main file, Dawnguard support will require you to extract the required meshes yourself, but I've provided a Pictorial Guide as to how to do that.

This update also requires you to update your Skyrim and Creation K...

  • Dawnguard support is coming

I've finally took the courage to install Dawnguard after seeing the Convenient Horses mod and the ability to craft arrows.

And with that, I'm making Dawnguard support. this will come in the form of another .esm, this is because maintaining a separate version for both vanilla and Dawnguard for the sake of keeping the number of plugins minimal is too much work, not to mention Dragonborn, which yes will mean another .esm, once I get around to do that.

Meanwhile, I'm also planning features for 1.3. I'm thinking of giving the ability to switch back to the original armor for convenience's sake.

Oh, and as per usual, you'll have to extract the Dawnguard files yourself. I'll prepare a pictorial guide to show you which files you sho...

  • Model Reference

    Raestloz's PC Exclusive Armor Path

    Armor model reference 1.0
    -----------------------------------

This is a list of what armor use which file, so you don't have to guess which files you should replace. Listed according to order of which I created the armors.

    The format:

    Armor Category
    -Armor Piece | name_of_model_for_male | name_of_model_for_female
    -Armor Piece 1st | name_of_1st_person_model_for_male | name_of_1st_person_model_for_female

Most armors have separate folders for male and female variant. If I list the same name for both male and female variant, it means they have their own folder.

Ground files are self-descriptive. Mostly they go with xxxgo.nif or xxx_g.nif. They're not in...

  • Preparing for Dragonborn, fixes to Dawnguard module, and proper uninstallation procedure

The mod has now been updated to version 1.3.1. This is a small update that fixes a problem with Imperial Light Bracers and prepares the mod for Dragonborn.

Aside from that, I also updated Dawnguard module to 1.1. This is a critical update, mainly because it provides the temper recipes for the armors. Yeah, sorry for that. While I've got Dawnguard for a while, I haven't really played it, and only today did I realize the problem.

The 1.1D update also redirects Vampire Clothes. I missed that.

Lastly, after a conversation with Arthmoor, it has come to my attention that I should've provided a proper uninstallation procedure to minimize save game bloat. Call it luck, the current system already provides hassle-free and painless uninstallation pro...
