Almost installed this, then I caught the part about the gates opening before going to Kavatch. That's the part that kills it for me. If the player got to initiate the crisis by going to Kvatch like one would expect, this would be a great mod and the NPCs being in danger would be a small price to pay. But not having this play in tandem with the actual Oblivion Crisis completely kills the mod.

I just wanted a mod that makes the Oblivion Crisis matter more once it started, but having them show up in cities even before Kvatch kills what little dramatic pacing the game achieves.

easy fix for this mod that will solve so many issues, dont let the daedra enter cities, then people dont have to worry about too many dead npcs

Like others have said, this mod is a great idea...in theory. Problem is that early spawning Dremora equals access to powerful daedric weapons, which not only ruins the pace of the game but also leads to a broken economy as you can sell these weapons off for hundreds of septims -- not to mention the countless NPCs that will die before you even get a chance to meet them because Daedra will absolutely devour them for lunch.

If you don't care about this, more power to you; but if you're like me where you want to maintain the game's balance, this is extremely off-putting.

I agree this is a great idea for a mod, however I would like to see a version in which the spawning Daedra wander the land wreaking havoc instead of going directly to the nearest town.
I think some of the problems encountered in this mod are probably why Bethesda didn't implement such a scenario in the vanilla version (just guessing).

If Oblivion could be remade with a modern engine, incorporating the ideas from all the best lore-friendly, non game-breaking mods, and really good AI for NPC's; what kind of game would it be, I wonder, and how popular?

This is a great addition and makes you feel as if the world is ending rather than a cheap plot. However, Oblivion AI is really lacking, sometimes guard accidentally hit a townie or another guard while killing a daedra and this later leads to city wide riots of guards vs guards and townies who side with one guard or another. Annoying but still worth it.

WoW the author isn't kidding when he says casualties among civilians, 4 daedras just wiped out half of cheyndinhal on my save, the only people left are guards.

While i appreciate the effort in making the oblivion threat more real, I had to deactivate the mod because well, I need those npcs...

Altho I guess running around town manually resurrecting each and every dead npc could do the trick, missing just one could mean a broken quest down the road. maybe add an auto-resurrect system to get the npcs back up after each attacks?

Wow. This mod is brilliant! It's almost what i've been looking for for a long time. Almost. I think that enhanced deadric invasion underdoes it a little bit but this mod overdoes it a little. If you could make a version where not so many people die I would love it. Other than that this is a very well done mod and I think should be more popular. It makes the game a challenge but doesn't let us take a break from the other things to do. If you made it so that a break could be taken once and a while from the deadra and let us do a little mages guild or fighter guild it would be fantastic. I hope this idea is at least noticed if not used. keep up the good work.

You're very welcome for the feedback David, and as I said, it's a great mod idea, but just not something for me really, but then who knows. lol. Perhaps.

It's surely different that's for sure and deserves to be reviewed and rated. I will check it out as time permits.

Also good to see a new version with respawning high-level guards.

    THIS SOUNDS AWESOME!
I have Crowded Cities, Tamriel Travelers and Expanded Cities, so my cities are very populated thanks to these mods, plus if too many people get killed, I'll just use the ol' RESURRECT code in the console on the ones I want alive.
Downloading now. I just hope all the extra guards/daedra don't take away from my fps.

Version 1_1 uploaded with mod-added respawning high-level unleveled guards to all the cities to make things more balanced when the player character is low-level.

The mod is still rather devastating to the civilian population, but that is in the nature of an end-of-the-world kind of mod.
