This was cool, I like the beards... but it was a very quick deletion because as usual in these types of village mods, the npcs are at extremely low levels with totally stock, weak equipment. I started a few fights and they all, even the king, went to their deaths within a few seconds... all or most of them being unessential with untouched aggression & energy levels, etc. They tend to flee screaming with those low aggression levels which is not like a true Viking would be. I had a look in the CSE to possibly edit these people up to challenging levels, give them leveled list enchanted equipment, clothes, jewelry, etc, but there's too many. I guess if all someone does in this game is quests and they never fight or even cast frenzy, it would be okay, but otherwise, in about 2 minutes you're gonna have an entirely dead village if for example an OOO monster was summoned in there. Landscape-wise, it's fine, and the buildings are interesting. Also the voice addon didn't work for me; no one spoke.
I mean.. it was never created for going on a frenzy against the friendly NPCs. It was meant to be a short little adventure to help a village. An interesting way to play for sure, but not what this mod was about.
Bro just downloaded a mod, didn't do any content, and killed all the NPCs from the mod... Listen, I ain't gonna tell you how you can or can't play a game but you gotta give an adventure the chance to unfold if you want to enjoy it, know what I mean?
Hi there. I'm having sort of a similar issue someone else had with freezes/crashes:
When I've killed the 3 scouts on the small island, I seem to crash trying to navigate the small island. Tried to loot one of them, crashed. Trying to pick up the note, crashed. Managed to pick up the note and hit exit then crash. Currently running the Rebirth+ collection and this is the only time it's crashed so I'm wodnering if something is conflicting with this area or?
EDIT: Seems the game wants to crash every couple minutes now haha. Unsure if it's caused by Viking Village, but it only started after visting there. Would disabling the mod cause any severe damage?
I had totally forgotten about that bug, and it was a quick 2 minute fix, so had to do it. But I am busy with Kvatch Rebuilt at the moment, so there aren't any plans for an update to Viking Village. I do want to update it a little bit though, and make the landscape more interesting (and a little bit larger). As far as quests go, I don't think there will be any more.
I had grand plans of a Vanir siege back in the days, but I don't know if I'll get the time. We'll see.
Thank you very much for this great mod Zaldiir! :D I just have one doubt ... in Freya's mission everything worked well to the point where I got the ogre's skin, after that I returned to the village and when I try to talk to Haakon, the dialogue option does not appear, only "this character has no dialogue. " Is there a solution for this, or could it be conflict with other mods that I have installed?
Thanks Zaldir for the cool mod. There's more to it than meets the eye at first. That was a good idea to release the one guy and then meet him again later. The only thing I didn't like was the blown out snow storm every time I exited a cave. I had to keep using the "fw 38eee" command. Thanks
Hey just thought I'd let y'all know: this ESP causes the Arena questline to bug where Owyn's dialogue gets bugged and loops, resulting in the questline being unplayable. Trust me, I spent HOURS testing this. Deactivating all my 246 plugins and then reactivating them until I found the problem. There is also a post from May 25th, 2010 that complained about the same problem. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/206641-arena-unusual-bug/ He said he had mods, but none of them were supposed to affect the Arena (which this mod isn't). This is a line from that thread if you don't feel like reading it "The lines that Owyn eternally keeps saying is: "Okay so you did it again. What do you want from me, a hug? Take your gold and get out of my face, pitdog!" Giving me a new set of 50 gold." This is the exact thing that Owyn says to me. I can't confirm it, but I bet that guy had this mod. I also tested the bug with only this mod and Oblivion.esm being active, the bug still persisted. I don't know if Zaldiir is still active or maintaining this mod, but if not, then this post is meant to warn others of the potential danger. I did some testing and found that if you DID already install this mod, made some progress, and don't wish to lose your playthrough, or maybe just want to play this quest mod as well as the Arena questline in the same playthrough, then you can get around it by loading a previous save (one before joining the Arena), and deactivating this mod before talking to Owyn. After you join the Arena and win your first fight, then you can reactivate this mod and playthrough the Arena without a problem, at least sometimes. I kept testing it and it seems that this isn't true all the time. Sometimes the bug will persist if you have the plugin active at all. I hope this helps anyone who's thinking about downloading this mod or already have and would like to fix the problem (if you have an old save to go back to). Happy modding everyone.

I'll need to diagnose this further, will update if anything comes up
EDIT: Not crashing anymore. I went back to a save from before I visited the Viking Island. Seems things are fine now
any chance for an update to this?
Hopefully, you'll expand this mod a bit... someday.
Thank you Zaldiir. Have a nice weekend.
