I have hammered on the delete button dozens on times nothing happened. But when you close the menue (TAB) several times and then push the button DEL it suddenly WORKED FOR ME. THANKS
Launch the game Do to "Data Files" Check mark the respective .esp for the mod Load into game Use tilde to open console Type "Set DeleteKey to 211"
Now you should be able to use the Delete key and the mod to clear spells. This is what worked for me! I installed through Vortex and it did not automatically checkmark the .esp and I had to register the delete key.
Incredible mod and thank you for making it. Note to any users of the COBL mod. That has a spell remover built in. But the awesome author here even made a standalone item delete file. So now you can still have both spell delete and item delete in your game. Side note: This doesn't like delete/purge an item out of existence from level lists right? Like if i delete an ebony chest piece, I could still come across another enemy wearing a different ebony chest piece?
Mod works great for me! However --- FOR THOSE WHO ARE SAYING IT DOESN'T WORK --- For some reason it may not always detect your delete key, so you have to manually set it. I have no idea why this is, I'm not a programmer, but at first it didn't work for me either so, --like the description says in the console command I put "Set DeleteKey to 211" (The DirectX Scancode for delete on my keyboard, yours may be different I have no idea how these things work) and now it works like a charm, so try that before saying it doesn't work.
This was necessary for me, but even after entering "Set DeleteKey to 211" into the console I had to depress the delete button many times and for ~5 seconds to get the delete notification. Exiting and re-entering the inventory screen after the first notification made the the mod work correctly. Exiting to the desktop (though not to the main menu), before saving broke the mod again. Saving the game while the mod was working correctly made it work even when starting from the desktop.
Hello. Mod used to work great on old PC but hasn't for the new one. I know very little about code but after visiting several pages, I wanted to leave something that could aid folks like me. Hope it helps.
How to delete custom spells: 1. Hit the Tilde button to access the console to type a command (or whatever you have to access the console). 2. Type: save (insert anything here) 1 a. Example: save testingdelete 1 b. Captain Obvious part: Hit Enter for any command to work. Hit Escape or the Tilde button to exit out of the console. 3. Close game. 4. Go to save file (PC -> Document -> My Games -> Oblivion -> Saves). 5. This may be different depending on your game/pc. I purchased Oblivion through Steam. 6. Click the text file that has the name you typed in the command (the icon will look different than the other save files). a. When the window opens it will have a lot of info to scroll through. You can ignore that. 7. Click Edit -> Find -> type SPELs and then click Next. This will take you to the top of the category that has the list of all custom spells. 8.This list should include the code and name of the spell. The first set of letters/numbers you see is the in-game code for the spell. a. Example for what the code looks like: FF001C7C 9. Write it down. 10. Go back into your game and load the latest save file you made with the command. 11. Hit Tilde and access the console. 12. Type: player.removespell (whatever the spell code was) a. Example: player.removespell FF001C7C 13. And done.
