Q) Will we rewrite Marko because *insert revisionary reason regurgitated from some banal youtuber here*
A) Uninstall, Unendorse.
Q) I don't like X and X and X about this and his other mods, will you change it?
A) Uninstall, Unendorse.
Q) How do I start the quest?
A) See the Articles.
Q) Can I update the original ESP version with this one?
A) No, it's not compatible, and you'll break your game.
Q) Do I need patch X to fix issue X with NVB still?
A) No, do not use old patches, they won't work anyways because this is now an ESM. If you find a bug we missed, use the bug report feature.
Q) Can I uninstall this after I'm done playing it?
A) No, you'll break your game. You should never uninstall mods mid play, it is not safe no matter what anyone says.
Q) Can you include the original Sweet Revenge so I can use so and so's retexture mod?
A) No, I will not rebreak something to appease you. It's simple enough to repath their textures to be compatible.
Q) Can you make a patch for such and such mod?
A) Maybe if I feel like, don't make demands from me or the team. I mod for me, and I'm doing this because I want to, not for you. Be thankful I'm sharing it.
Q) Are you working on SG2K's other New Vegas mods?
A) Yes, we hope to release them all this year, but no promises. Bad Mothafucka and New Vegas Killer are next.
Q) I don't like that you did "insert personal head canon here", I demand you change it.
I've been absent from the Nexus for two years due to military service and well, life, so I just stumbled across this last night.
So there's no ambiguity, I just want to state for the record: I approve.
I made these mods in a series of creative bursts from 2010-2015, and all the while I was learning the fundamentals of modding through trial and error (emphasis on error). I'm not sure if I'll ever mod again (I'm in a very good place now IRL), but I'm honestly just shocked to see the passion for these old mods after so many years. Someteam2000 has my blessing on this endeavor. Roy, you're a god among modders.
In the unlikely event I do release a new mod, I'll probably just lay down a time frame before I sign off on unofficial updates, re-writes, etc. However, for the record I'm very open to such things. This is a hobby, not my profession, and if altering my flawed plugins prompts someone to take the dive into modding, all the better.
Best of luck with this endeavor, everyone - my presence on the Nexus will be limited (consider me informally retired), but shoot me a PM if you have questions. Hopefully it won't be two years before I respond. ;)
Thank you my lord, I bow before you in subserviance.
Seriously though, I'm glad you are doing well! Yes this is a hobby, not a job. You can always re-add me on steam if you want to chat, I do miss our talks.
ofc people still care about your mods. the nv modding scene is amazing as it is but your series of mods really were the cream of the crop. if you ever return to modding i'm sure many others would be incredibly hyped to see what you do next
It's honestly really nice to see you're alive and doing well. NVB1 was the first mod I ever installed, and it's a must have on ever playthrough I've had since. Thanks for your contributions to the modding community.
Someguy2000's youtube channel having all the videos deleted is basically on par with the library of Alexandria burning down. Maybe a little worse actually.
Does anyone know if the amount of bottlecaps for each bounty reward can be changed in FNVEdit? The amounts rewarded in the mod seem a tad excessive to me. I want to try and reduce them, if that's possible.
I don't know if other players have this issue, but will the LE version do the same thing with places, like "Buchan Odds and Ends" and "Troy's Quarters", where they'll MAGICALLY exist when the quest involved them started? Because it feels weird, and I rather that the places exist first, but locked until their questlines started.
"Troy's Quarters" NVB 3 is where Virgil/Marko ask you to find and kill Troy, near the Fiend's place, right at the Sunset Sarsparilla Factory, beneath the bridge.
The "Buchan Odds and Ends" NVB 2 is near right at the Aerotech Office Park. The place where you met Wickham, for the NCR espionage missions, after completing the base "NVB 2", as far as I remember.
I think there's more but I guess you have to play again to find something familiar like that.
Yes, I've been on hiatus for 8 months for various reasons. Other members of the team have been busy too. I got back to working on audio for KOTR earlier this week. Progress still being made. Mostly just audio, navmeshing and final touches.
I have to relearn a bit, but they are not abandoned. We both had/have massive burnout and also needed to focus IRL. Don't worry we won't disappear for 4 years like our lord and master did.
My main issue with the hate directed at NVBIII is the absurd notion that Marko is some self-insert of someguy2000. The sole, genuine self-insert in SG's series is Russell: ex-military, red-haired, and a face that resembles charred bacon. People label Marko as "edgy" in common parlance (are there even any non-edgy villains anyway? Edgy is provocative by definition) and immediately assume the worst, believing Marko is just a thinly veiled someguy2000. Can they not grasp the concept that not every writer does this? Perhaps they've grown too accustomed to contemporary entertainment, where it seems like everything's a writer's ego trip. Who can say? Nonetheless, I've mentioned it before and I'll repeat it now... Within NVBIII, we unearthed a considerable amount of unfinished writing. It's evident that SG had bigger plans - the option to face off against Randall, and a potential love interest for the Courier named Felina Robbins that Marko may or may not kill. It looks as though there was even an option to side with Marko. We'll never know for sure, but the only way I'd consider a rewrite or an encore is if SG himself pens it. If someone else takes a stab at it, in my view, it won't capture SG's authenticity. There would undoubtedly be a glaring and jarring difference in the writing style.
Funny enough, I finished NVB3 with no problem with the writing and features, and truth to be told, I kinda like it. Then, I see video playthroughs of NVB3, and see people being too OVER, on criticizing Marko, whether it was the comments or the guys playing. Some even expect Marko to be devil incarnate with meticulous plans and got disappointed with his real self.
I don't have that problem because he already given the context of his personality when you talk to him before, and you can just kill him from the moment you met him. It will failed the main quest but still, why would a 'self insert' let themselves be killed, when comparing to The Frontier's self insert?
Oh...and I'm still waiting for the other mods, hehe.
I think it just depends on the personal taste of bitching, I couldnt take Dishonored 2 cuz the main bad guy literally just complains and complains and complains that she had to actually try and conquer a kingdom.
I reserve judgement but the guy sounds like a loser. also the way people write characters nowadays is just.. prone to sound wanky. Dont hate the player when they are written in a bad light.
If SG2K gave the greenlight and wrote it himself, we would of course try to find the original VAs or hire professional VAs if the originals were unavailable. Unlikely to happen, though, so please don't get your hopes up.
Yeah, I mean, the only * real * issue I had with III was the hate toward Companions. But I handle that by telling Willow to wait at home before I head off and start III so she remains safe.
LMAO did people actually think Marko was a self-insert?
Like, sure, I have my beef with how he was written, how everything was executed, and how things went down...but I never got the self-insert vibes. The worst I can say about him is that he's someguy's Ulysses: he's there to make a statement and it's not always well-done, and he's given a little too much credit for his deeds.
Ulysses gets dragged in almost every one of someguy's mods, yet someguy went and made a guy who's literally the same.
Starts off with guilt tripping you about stuff you couldn't possibly know about because the game didn't present this information? Check.
Has massive segments where he talks and talks and talks while you can barely get a word in edgewise? Check.
Cast as a foil to the Courier despite all his best feats being off-screen and him personally coming off as a pretentious windbag? Check.
The best I can say about Marko is that his motivations for killing you are more grounded and functional than what Ulysses had going on, since it's something you actually did. Everything else? Honestly comes off worse.
I seem to be having a new problem (for me at least) with starting this mod. I've played it in the past and if I'm remembering correctly to be sent to Russel the first time to get the job you're supposed to find either a note stuck to the front of the saloon or on the counter inside (can't remember which it is). Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be in either spot and if you try to just go into the building Russel is in directly the door is locked and requires a key to enter. Am I doing something wrong or do I need that note and if so is there a way to give it to myself with console commands.
edit: Never mind I watched a video and realized that the way you get the note and start the quest in this version is to locate the dead bounty hunter on the road out of Goodsprings my mistake.
Can this be used with Fallout Bounties II and III?
Like if I complete this can I just download the original Someguy mods for the sequels and play as normal or am I better just sticking to someguys mods until Bounties II and III get their LE versions?
Yes you can, NV Bounties 3 is a standalone anyway and this LE version works with 2 like the original. Its awesome all the ewapons got awesome retextures! I said awesome twice f*#@ it XDD

in short, thanks mothafucka!

I did the same in NVB I and NVK, things are there from the start.
(assume not but just checking)
End of era.

Lmao who ever whined about New Vegas Bounties of all things? Video game essayists with clickbait "x is problematic" type titles by any chance?
As for people who use the word "problematic", they don't understand the correct usage of English or how to express themselves properly.
