These mods are a huge lift for one person, so if you have suggestions or want to help out please join my Discord! Currently looking for help with quest and level-design experts, voice actors, navmesh experts, and more!
could you do a patch for claim the mojave to include some of the legion camps to be claimed by other factions? and also to your new legion units to spawn on the places you claim for the legion (legion salvagers, scutarius and etc spawning on places you claim, like Black Mountain and all)
also some overall patchs, as you can claim the wolfhorn ranch in the mod so i assume it has some small conflicts
I am not going to make patches for other mods, as that is a rabbit hole and huge time sink (not to mention that patches can break if there are updates to the other mod) but you are welcome to make and upload patches if you’d like.
Thanks for reaching out, I hope you are enjoying the mod!
I'm gonna assume this isn't safe for a mid playthrough install... damn, I loved this mod on my first playthrough about half a decade back and I'm so glad you've updated it, maybe the next playthrough's gonna be legion!
I wouldn't recommend installing any mods mid-playthrough, but it’s really up to you! You may be able to explain the new Legion presence in an existing playthrough as if it’s a story event - the Legion just pushed into new territory and set up new camps.
Thanks for sticking it out and I hope you like the updates!
Hey I was just wondering if you would know if this was compatible with mods like MoreMojave, A World of (Less) Pain and Landscape Overhaul Re-remastered, ik it sounds like a lot but these mods are generally used in conjunction, thanks for the good work and for maintaining this for so long! best legion overhaul I have found so far, really adds to the world and their presence
Thanks for the kind words and I’m glad you are enjoying the mod!
I am unfortunately not really sure on compatibility with other mods as they are often updated/changed and I’d honestly suggest checking the comments here or trying it out and seeing how it goes for ya. I haven’t heard of major conflicts with this mod and it’s been out for about 11 years now, but there bound to be some out there.
Yup If you're installing this manually, take the Sound folder from the zip and put that in the Data folder. Just add the new files into the existing Sound folder on your game. If you're having trouble extracting, open the sound folder from the zip and put in the "Factions Reloaded Legion.esp" folder (just the folder, not the .esp lol) and put that in Data/Sound/voice.
I have never heard of a conflict between this mod and Legion Quests Expanded, and these are the two biggest (non-armor) Legion content mods on Nexus as far as I know.
Unsure on the other quest compilation, but it sounds like that mod mostly adds additional choices to existing quests and likely wouldn’t conflict either - although I can’t guarantee it. Let me know how it goes for you!
This mod is not heavily focused on quests. The quests are essentially additional side content for the Legion and mostly consist of bounty hunting missions clearing out raiders, deathclaw camps, wiping out Legion deserters, and some Desert Rangers so it is easier to gain Legion affinity as it is difficult to do so in the base game. You will be able to help pave the way for the Legion to continue their advance and remove obstacles from their push into the Mojave.
The majority of this mod's content revolves around new camps (which can either be aided or wiped out Far-Cry 3 style) with named Legionaries and some merchants as well as battles and encounters that you will stumble upon. The encounters are very carefully hand-crafted to ensure quest givers and named NPCs are not in major danger unless the player decides to help the Legion, which really enhances the experience for people who are tired of wiping out all the NCR camps alone with no help. If you are a neutral or anti-Legion player, you will find more areas to help and more pressure on NCR camps in contested areas - although they will not not fully be overrun.
Apologies for the long explanation, but hopefully this gives a full scope of what FR - Legion tries to accomplish.
Haven't heard this mod, found it when looking for Legion mods to flesh out my upcoming playthough. Good lord, this was released back in 2013 but you're still updating it? Beyond based.
Hey TW, if you're struggling to find voice actors, I've heard some mods that use ElevenLabs AI voice which sound very realistic. Think it's the go-to for non-voice-acted lines. It isn't free but pretty cheap for what you need I think. Just wanted to share in case you haven't heard of it. Cheers.
Thanks! I’ve looked into AI voices but I currently prefer to work with the community even if it does take much longer. That may change though if it takes too long or is too difficult to get all the characters voiced.
Just wanted to say this mod's awesome and your work on it is so greatly appreciated. I understand why there's never been a ton of mods made for legion content, lots of people turned off by their vibe. But they're super interesting from a lore and roleplay perspective and I wish more modders would help to flesh them out like this. So much potential there.
Apologies for the late reply. Thank you so much! Comments like this are what motivate me to keep working on this mod!
I would highly recommend looking into Nova Arizona in conjunction with this mod - they are doing amazing work! I plan on making this FR - Legion work seamlessly with their work, and hopefully it will result in a vanilla-friendly game with a more balanced Legion experience.
I really like this mod. Any idea when the rest of the voice acting should be complete? If you can't find VAs I'd recommend using Ai. Ai voices sound incredibly good and will sound more vanilla than any Voice actor you could get.
Thanks! I am working on it currently and have been sending lines to some voice actors! I’ll do my best but at the end of the day this is a labor of love and I would prefer to work with voice actors. I just have limited time so I mostly can only work on the weekends.
I personally feel like AI voices often sound a bit too robotic or like I’m talking to a tiktok video, but I may be old fashioned in that sense.
I completely understand. I like this mod so much I violated my rule of modding. Downloading a mod with no voice acting. Mostly because I knew it would come with an update.
I recently played the big iron quest and have a few small suggestions. -Make half rangers and half NCR troopers in the cave, a dog or two. Tons of rangers feel a bit much, especially because they're pretty rare in the NCR
-Make the rangers all attack at once. I was able to cheese a few at a time even though they should all hear me. And rush at once.
-Add more cover. Sandbags, flipped tables, choke points etc. The cave feels somewhat empty. -There's a big rock sticking up in the quest givers camp. It could Easly have a walkway up to a sniper's post. Two legion snipers could be there.
-Write a bit more flavor dialogue for the centurion there. Ask him about Colorado and other Legion lands. (They're safe already that's why I'm glad that Caeser saw fit to send me here, in the Mojave taking the fight to the twin bear) Something like that.
-Make the Centurion slightly taller than other NPCs and more of a mini boss.
-Dialogue should reflect your reputations with the factions as well. If I'm idolized by the Legion, they should be happy to see me and see it as a good Omen that I blessed their camp with my presence. Shunned should be the opposite. If I have the Mark of Caeser, he should assume that I was sent by Caeser himself to help them. (Little dialogue changes like this is what helps to sell faction interactions as being authentic and feel real. just like in the base game.
-Add a dialogue and quest option to side with the NCR and raid the Legion Camp putting it under the control of the NCR. Thus, changing the flag and other minor aesthetics.
These are just suggestions. I really like this mod and want it to be as good as possible.
The rangers in the quest actually aren’t part of the NCR, as the Centurion mentions and the note on the desert ranger leader explains! This was mostly done as I understand even many Legion-friendly players can’t just straight up massacre a large group of NCR soldiers due to wanting to keep friendly relations with the NCR as long as possible.
Thanks for the suggestions, I will take them into consideration during the next update! I do plan to add more dialogue lines in the next update along with additional voiced characters.
Of course. I want this mod to be as good as possible. I know tone can be lost in text, but I always try to be respectful with my suggestions and questions in my comments. Modders do this for free, out of passion and help me to improve my game experience immensely. I have a lot of respect for modders. As I play more of your mod ill suggest more things that can be improved. Take them or leave them, it's up to you.
No worries, and thank you for the suggestions on Discord as well! Continuously planning on updating this mod through the next few months at least. All depends how much time I have between work and other responsibilities, but I'd like to get it up to Vanilla standards so it fits seamlessly with the base game.
Many of your changes have been implemented in V2.5 btw!

Planning another update in the next month or so that will include additional voice acting for some of the characters.

Planning on pairing your mod with this one to give the Legion Equal presence with the NCR.

Maybe you could add some generic apparel and non-ranger gear on them to look more ragtag.
