Can't recommend this mod, some of the stuff is good and it's modular but the reason's for the power armour movement make no sense lore wise and there is no ongoing support for any issues.
You can always delete the power armor movement type record(s) from the movement module's plugin, using FO4Edit. The rest of the mod will still work.
Alternatively, I'd recommend carrying over vanilla's settings for power armor, and ensuring everything under the SPED section isn't over 470. That way you can negate the sprinting FPS stuttering bug.
Yeah, I liked a lot of what I read about this mod in the description, aside from that. Slowing down power armor because of weight is not a realistic change. The whole reason it's called *power* armor is because the hydraulics in the suit frame move all that extra weight for you. If they built the power armor correctly, it should feel essentially weightless.
Driving a giant truck, you aren't moving that either yet you feel the weight behind it, you know why ? GRAVITY !!! the weight changes make perfect sense ... if u didn't skip school and got the chance to learn about GRAVITY !!!
Rip ta3ldrius the gravity got him, he was driving a truck one morning and realized he only needed gravity for forward momentum an turned off his engine on the freeway.
pretty sure the mod descriptions says it deletes the mechanic from the game files fully. so probably would have to reinstall fallout. which is hard now with the next gen update breaking most mods
Is this mod compatible with Lunar Overhaul All-in-one? Or at least the movement changes are compatible? I’d appreciate if anyone knows because I couldn’t find any information on the internet.
So you're making humans in- and out of power armor move slower and bulkier, because of realistic weight considerations, but you are making a giant dinousaur beast move even faster? That's not realism, that's just difficulty increase.
but a deathclaw is a creature? it can easily move swifter than most things as it likely evolved and radiated to be like that, IRL a human weighs average of 62kg whilst a horse will weigh in the couple hundreds of kilo's yet there still much faster than us, even big dinosaurs like the Allosaurus weighed around 1500kg and moved at 50mph, ofc a deathclaw could move fast in the game (somewhere like 25 mph most likely)
I'm sorry, but it's absolutely realistic a 7ft tall "dinosaur" would be faster than humans. I don't even understand why you'd question that. Just look at the actual large animals we have on the planet right now and see how fast they are.
They are animals and have a lot of biological advantages to humans. By your logic, rhinos, elephants, lions, tigers, panthers and hypos wouldn't be faster, because they're much larger than humans. Not even elite athletes can outrun these animals by the way.
Unfortunately theres no more t-rex for me to get eaten by, realism doesn't involve nuclear waste and if it did you wouldn't lul your proably a skeleton go roleplay
Perfect mod, except for the weapons recoil. You've obviously never fired a firearm before, because if you had, you'd know that when you fire, the recoil doesn't just push the weapon up until you consciously return it to your firing position. When an experienced shooter (ie. anyone who has regularly practiced) is firing a weapon, and you point it at a target, your body wants to keep it pointed at that target, even with the recoil. You don't have to consciously return the weapon to a lowered-on target position. Your body and gravity will do the work. A less experienced shooter may have to make minor adjustments to stay on target, but it's minimal at best. Experienced shooters know this, therefore the mod is immersion breaking for experienced shooters.
I am a very experienced shooter and what he says holds true for the most common type of fire. Semi. And I think thats what he is referring to,. Of coruse full auto can get a bit hairy and needs actively controlled. At least I need to stay focused and activelty control the gun when I use it (which was rarely). But full auto for an individually held small arm, is not really all that common as laymen think... (of course in a game more common than real world.)
I was here to ask whether the "how I use this mod" section was regarding mods the author recommends to use along with this mod or not, but I felt the need to respond to this comment.
I was in the US Army for twelve years. I deployed three times. I have fired thousands of rounds of ammunition through shotguns, pistols, and rifles - both semi/burst 5.56 and semi/auto 7.62. I taught close-quarter battle at the JFK Special Warfare Center and School.
Everything jonpellucid says is 100% accurate. The only time it takes real effort to control weapon recoil is when firing fully automatic weapons with high recoil. The very first thing a shooter does is enter a stable shooting position/platform/stance. This stance is what first brings the weapon on target, and it is what will return the weapon to that target after firing. While a shooter will have to make minor adjustments to reacquire their sight picture after firing, it is not at all necessary to bring the weapon "down" to the target after firing - that happens by itself. A weapon, once fired, does not recoil upward and then remain there until conscious effort is made to return it to the target - it "kicks" up, back, or both, and then is brought back to target automatically due to the fact that a human is holding it, muscles tensed in a manner which originally brought the weapon on target. An experienced shooter does not go completely limp when firing; the tension remains, and will return the weapon to the target without conscious effort.
You only need the patch if you're using the RAW INPUT mod. That way you replace that mod's original esp file with Immersive Fallout's patched esp. Otherwise, you don't need it.
Obviously, he is using RAW INPUT and is asking does he need the patch for it if he is not using the movement changes from this mod. And the answer is no, you dont need the patch in that situation.

just because something is big doesn't mean its slow
now carrying a big chunk of metal as your outfit on the other hand...
