Being unintended for human consumption, Abraxo Pax naturally have a very poor taste compared to normal food items. Reporting a file for containing a bitterant seems a bit extreme!

People have died of nukes, guns, grenades, mines, swords, hammers, drugs, robots, bears, mosquitos, scorpions, humans, radiation poisoning, regular poisoning, disease, starvation, dehydration, drowning, burning, falling from great height. Is being allowed to die in any of these ways in the game distasteful as well?

they died because they were idiots, hell the packaging of Tide Pods even says it's harmful for human consumption. You're probably the guy who reported the Samsung hand grenades.
As much as I dislike game theory, watch the film theory on the tide pod challenge. All of the stats are way out of wack when presented by the media. Nothing actually happened.

Your description says not for human consumption, so is it safe for me to feed it to my super mutant? and what happens if my ghoul acccidentally eats one?
Ghoul is fine so long as it's already feral. Super Mutant is unaffected because of course they are. But most importantly, remember not to feed them to your Deathclaw after midnight, otherwise some crazy s#*! will start to happen.
What about synths? Chems affect Gen3s the same way as humans, and earlier models at least look like they have some sort of gut-like plumbing. Also, Nick Valentine can be observed eating noodles sometimes, even if he says that he doesn't eat. (Don't lie, Nick, Jesus is listening!)

It adds in 3 boxes of different "flavours". All of them just give you -10 endurance, and they just reuse the abraxo box mesh.
