Converting mods to ESL: If you convert your mod to an esl file you also need to update the mod file name in the quest properties (see tutorial) or your mod will NOT work.
The mod disables itself, is missing in mod manager, doesn't work, can't find holotape in chem bench: Version 0.1.5 was created with a newer version of the game and therefore has a different file header version number than previous versions. You must either upgrade your game to run the mod or change the file header version yourself. No support beyond the help image in image section will be given for outdated versions of the game. It's generally best to run the latest version of the game.
Some currently unknown mod is using a bad injection script with an outdated menu formlist that is breaking the Creation Club menu for users of that mod. We've added an additional option to the SMM holotape which can repair the missing Creation Club menu for those users. Craftable holotapes were also added to this update to make it easier for users who install SMM before vault exit to get a holotape.
If you have had a missing Creation Club menu please send me (damanding) a PM with the list of mods that you use so that I might hopefully be able to determine the mod breaking things and warn the mod author.
Sim Settlements and Workshop Framework If you use v1.1.11 or later of Workshop Framework then SMM is no longer required for the Sim Settlements custom menu. It will instead be injected by Workshop Framework. Workshop Framework will also automatically repair the workshop menu on every game load. SMM will still be required by other mods that utilize it. However mod authors now have the choice of using the script injection available with Workshop Framework instead of SMM.
Tutorial Thanks Whisper (Bionicyardiff on Nexus) has just created a very nicely done tutorial that covers the basics of how to make a workshop menu in general and how to add SMM to your mod in particular. It is now available as an optional download in the files tab. Please send him a kudos as thanks for his help!
Hi, i have 2 holotapes in the chemistry bench : 1settings holotape and 1 SMM holotape but they are both the same holotape the settings holotape, any help or ideas would be apreciated
I think one of those holotapes is meant to be used by people who use the VIS-G Item Sorting mod. The other one is for those who don't use this mod. The description mentions that "There are now two craftable holotapes in the Chemistry workbench Utility section. One with VIS naming style and one without".
Thank you, Yet again my attention span causes me to skip over some of the more useful points in the discription I thought there was a holo with settings i could change other than the 5 choices on the settings holotape thanks again.
Never modded on a console so I'm not sure how it works. Have you installed a mod that requires SMM? SMM won't do much by itself. Maybe try reinstalling SMM.
New menus not showing up might be because your workshop menu is broken. See the mod description for some other common reasons for a menu not showing up and some possible solutions for it.
This is bizarre. I never could get the holo tape and Homemaker never worked since the updates (I've not played in about 4 years, so I updated the few mods that updated in the interim, SMM and Homemaker being two, though they worked prior to the update 4 years ago) . Knowing that a required mod should be higher than the mod requiring it and Homemaker needs SMM, not to mention NMMCE won't let me put an ESP higher than an ESM, on a lark, I added the ESM flag to SMM and renamed it to change the esp to esm, and I * finally * got the holotape for SMM, so that's a step forward, but Homemaker still doesn't work, even after an SMM Menu Rescue. I'm not sure why, anyone with a clue? I would assume this was tested and the 'esp' is suppose to work with Homemaker despite SMM being an esp and Homemaker an ESM so... I'm very confused. >.<
So you had an old version of Homemaker installed in an old save, updated the mod and want to continue using that save? Have you read the SMM and Homemaker descriptions/comments and tried all the possible solutions mentioned there? Or you might want to consider starting a new game instead
There is a pinned comment that mentions: "The problems people seem to be having seem to be tied to existing saves, or not having SMM installed. Install SMM, run the SMM holotape menu fix option in game. Then install the Homemaker Menu Fixer in the optional files"
Also, SMM's position in your load order shouldn't really matter. Works fine for me when I have SMM below Homemaker.
Hope. I had an old version of SMM, Homemaker, etc installed, uninstalled those and updated them, then started a new game. But when I started the game, and finally got to Sanctuary, I saw that I didn't have the SMM Holotape nor the Homemaker stuff in the settlement build stuff. But this go around I am playing BoS so I was like "Eh, well, it's something I can fix later, not like I have someone running me off to every settlement in the Commonwealth. " , but now, mid game, I installed a quest mod that also adds a player home and stuff to the settlement build stuff, that I am finally trying to figure out why SMM wasn't giving me a holotape. ON a lark I changed it to an ESM (added flag and all) and finally got the holotape but nothing else. So I do have a step forward on this but still no answer on why it took changing it to ESM fix it nor why Homemaker still doesn't work. O.o
The holotape showing up was probably because that when you changed the .ESP to an .ESM it caused the game to think that it was a new mod and then it added the holotape again.
It didn't show up at first because the holotape got added when you started a new game. The problem is that you don't have an inventory at the beginning of the game. If you had installed SMM after the intro then it should have showed up fine. But you can also craft the holotape at the chem station, by the way. Changing the ESP to an ESM isn't necessary.
About Homemaker's menu not showing up. The SMM description mentions some of the common reasons for a menu not showing up, such as: "Failed installation (partial installation due to mod manager failure is the most common, especially if using very old versions of NMM)." You mentioned you were using NMM. Maybe something went wrong when installing Homemaker?
Have you tried reinstalling Homemaker? Or maybe try a manual install and test if it works then.
Awesome! Your Q-A Broken workshop menu, run the SMM menu rescue option in the SMM holotape saved me from a total migraine. No expert modder by any means and glad for your Q-A help. Now to start building again. ^^

Can I use this and WSFW both at the same time?
