Is there anyway to make this compatible with durable vehicles or a patch out there for this? I want to use this mod, but also stop cars from exploding.
Now, in my humble opinion: Maybe implementing some "realistic" features like spending some hours looting to get all the loot as a must. ...it takes time to take a wheel off a car. and you kinda need some tools to do that. maybe a salvageKit item so you have to build it or create it based on different tools around the wasteland, to loota a car and ...maybe, even ad some difficulty to it, by forcing the player to build several of those to loot 1 for each car. dunno. just that. (Hunterborn, from Skyrim is a mod that do some awesome things related to this interaction with assets on the world. might be a good inspiration perhaps). This mod paired with Salvage Beacon could be an awesome immersive salvaging system. very promising!
Great mod, and as you would expect you do not get much stuff from it, there again any really good stuff would have been looted ages ago by all the other people passing these wrecks by.
Has anybody managed to get this working when converted to an esl format? I tried it myself but it simply does not work, though there seems to be no reason for it not to work.
lol. I love this mod. I just find it funny that there was a request for more pictures, and there they are. Only thing missing is the guy standing in front of the car.
This mod just will NOT work for me. Can someone please tell me how they got it working. I've tried installing it with NMM and manually installing it on 4 different play throughs and it won't work for me either way, and yes I use other mods and they work just fine.
Nevermind, I found another mod like this one that worked the very first time
If you're taking suggestions, I'd like to suggest something. Not sure how you'd do this, but here goes:
If at all in the near future, can you please add a sort of progress bar. So for instance we have to hold down E to salvage stuff, at the moment I can just run by, quickly tapping E on cars and trucks
I've been looking into adding a time-passed for salvaging thing, but I can't find an easy script for it. Hopefully even a time interface like waiting to determine how long you want to salvage for.
There is a mod for Skyrim called Hunterborn which allows you to immersively clean and collect from a dead animal. There is a fade out and time is skipped, then you get your goodies. I know they are different games, but you may find something useful in the script. Just a thought. As someone else suggested there may be other things to salvage from a vehicle, like batteries, copper, nuclear material, etc. Having such options would also make your mod notably different from Lootable Cars (which I've been using for a long time) or other similar mods.
This is a great mod. I am loving it. Thank You for creating it. You have won my endorsement Sir.
I have one suggestion, take it or leave it:
A very rare chance of finding carbines / long guns such as Hunting Rifle, Sniper Rifle or long-barrelled double Shotguns in Trucks. For realistic execution of this, long guns should only be found in trucks. Maybe think about handguns in cars, larger cars only perhaps.
This is not because I want more chances to get some OP weapons. Far from it, this is because I think it realistic that in Massachusetts there be some people who carry firearms in their trucks. Think of a "Red-Neck Gun Rack" bolted behind the driver's seat in one of those single seat trucks dotted all over the Commonwealth landscape. I think that is reasonable. I would not include ammo, as any that would have been kept with the rifle or shotgun would have long since degraded being exposed to the weather etc.
There you have my suggestion and reasons why I think this is a good idea.
I hope this is easy enough for you to implement, I would like to see this on like 10% of the vehicles I salvage. That would be believable.
Someone did do it FNV, but I what I kept asking if that person and XRE Cars could combine so that way you loot cars for parts to fix a car instead of buying keys...unlike other games
