Update: I will try to add a slider in the options menu so you can reduce the frequency of the armors because i noticed so wierd combinations on new recruits. SetNames work ok in vanilla so i will only add it to the WOTC version. Stay tuned Update2: WOTC version with slider is up, please let me know if you need one for the vanilla version
I love the Valkyria Chronicles games, Just finished 4 not too long ago. Which is why I am commenting, this looks awesome as hell but hits me right in the feals... great job on the mod my dood.
Hi, does the mod show up in your launcher? The patch deactivated all my mods, even if they were showing as active, so I had to reactivate them (untick and tick it again). this only messed up my voicepacks but might be that way for you with this mod. otherwise you should be fine if you are using the right version of the game (WOTC in this case). without 'part names' the parts should be under Torso, Arms, Legs at the bottom of the list.
Does this at all support customisation options such as colour and patterns or is it a stock texture for the whole piece? If not, would there be any plans for such additions or is it simply not worth the effort in getting that to work?
It is stock textures, I simply don't know how to make it optional for colours or patterns. I assume that would involve alot of reworking of the textures and that is not my forte. i'm happy I got them to work as they are, to be onest.
Thanks again for the technical information (below). In other news, might I suggest a Character Pack to go with these things? Im sure youve thought of it...
I saw that one and yes there are too many dependencies. Personally I use the Jagged Alliance character pack plus the voices, where i needed to manually set the voices for each character. I assume that you could use the Valkyria Pack without the dependencies and tweak the chars on the missing probs, voices etc. Then again I didn't do all the voices in my voice pack, so you would still be missing some stuff. Thats what I would do, but that would be using another mod makers work as a base so I wouldn't upload it as a mod/charpack.
Yes some details you will only see on the skyranger or in costomization. It schouldn't interfere with Longwar because it's only cosmetic, but if your using the WotC DLC with the Vanilla Mod (and vice versa) you will get red screens or atleast long game freezes, because both versions handle textures differently. I get abaout 5 min 'game freezes' the first tme one of the armors is loaded from the wrong mod version, because the game tries to recompile the textures on the fly. With the right mod version everything should load as intended.
>"I get about 5 min 'game freezes' the first time one of the armors is loaded from the wrong mod version"
That is interesting. So if I see a mod with graphic elementsm such as a squadmate pack like the Motoko mod, is compatible with WotC, I should stay away from it.
There is a new layer of confusion in modding after this DLC, or XCom 2.1, was released.
most things without textures/shaders should be fine, but yes as soon as models are involved you will probably have problems if they were compiled on the wrong modbuddy. you can still use them, but on the first load they will compile in runtime, then they should load fine till you restart the game, or the memory is cleared. it's wierd but that's probably the price for having a better running game with WOTC.
You have no idea how amazing this mod is to me. I've been asking for Xcom 2 ports of VC armor ever since modding was announced before X2 released. Absolutely fantastic work, thanks for making dreams a reality.
Any chance of further ports, like Welkin's outfit and cap, Varrot's Officer uniform, or imperial armor and helms?

I'd understand if after the long process of getting the already available uniforms, you'd be done with the whole thing. But if it's eventually possible to come back and import a few more, that'd be awesome.
Well for those you would have to start from scratch, most of the work is fitting the Valkyria Models to the XCOM Skeleton/Models and that is very time consuming. I'd say it's unlikely or at least not feasable for me at the moment, but you never know it depens on the models and my personal situation.

The old one on Steam looks too complicated.

Im playing LW 1.5, but I have the WotC DLC. Im going to try to use the WotC versions.

This needs to go on steam!
Thank you!
I most likely won't put it on steam workshop, can't handle the community there most of the time.
can you tell me which version you are using and if you are using it with WOTC or the base game please.
Also, if you can give me anything that the redscreen error says in more detail that whould be very helpful.
