I was about to add it to my mod collection for my first playthrough but I'm not sure if it's updated to the last version. Looking at the steam page it probably isn't.
AFAIK it'll stop them appearing on Avenger Defence missions, and maybe Council missions.
It won't (I believe) stop their reacting to each one of your trooper's movements.
It may affect what a Ruler does when reacting ("Do I flank? Do I shoot?" etc.) if the Ruler AI re-uses any of its progeny AI (e.g. if Viper King uses some of Viper's AI choices).
Um, probably best to wait for DerBK to be definitive.
I feel I may have had a derp moment. So the fact there're fewer files and folders in 1.01 is what's meant by this in the changelog? "Deleted a bunch of unnecessary files from the mod folder, which should bring down the size to just a few kB."
All this mod's magic is done via the modified "XComAI.ini"? No scripts involved (looking at the old version's "ABetterAI.u", it didn't seem to actually do anything)? If that's the case then this is witchcraft, witchcraft I tell you!

There's just a Config folder, no Localization or Script or Src folders.

And fantastic witchery indeed.
Yes, that's correct. Witchcraft confirmed.
