This may or may not work with War of the Chosen DLC. Meaning that when enabled, game starts normally, no crash. While playing, grenades can be thrown and there does not seem to be snapping to tiles, which is nice. However, the grenade area marker - that big orange "bubble" is gone. Only trajectory is visible. Not sure yet if this was a one time glitch or not, will have to try more, but there's a potential chance that this mod may need a wee bit of tweaking for this DLC.
I love you ? I mean why noone is complaining about the grenades snaping tiles bullshit they changed in XCOM2 ? Even worse rocket launcher works as before like in XCOM EU and grenades now snap to tiles, it make no sense why they changed this, I really enjoy your mod, glad someone made it!
PS: There a way to make it so that you can control the hight of your grenades as well? I remember XCOM you could... but again you had mostly rocket launcher but I do believe you could also make your throw go higher as you go higher with the camera
I completely agree with you and am honestly surprised this mod isn't ranked higher. The problem with EU/EW grenades was not being able to position them the way you wanted because of the unit snapping; the solution was not to add MORE damn snapping. Ugh.
^ "Snapping" refers to the behaviour of the cursor to "snap" to predefined locations in a tile. For example, if you aim your grenade at the corner of a tile, the game will "snap" the cursor back to the middle of it. So if you try to aim at 2 aliens who you know fit into the grenade explosion radius, you often can't hit both because the game won't let you since the cursor will snap to the middle of whatever tile you're aiming at. This mod removes that limitation, allowing you to fine tune move the cursor to where you want to throw the grenade exactly.
NOTE: In the tutorial mission there's one point where you're told to throw a grenade, with this mod active the tutorial won't proceed until you click the exact spot it's expecting you to click - it involved a bit of a pixel hunt for me until I finally got it. For a moment I thought I was stuck there, whew.
