    I'm confused for editing Perks for the Classes.

    I want to change for each class all the perks for each rank (all 3), but how it looks confuses me.

    Can someone help me??

    Hey, idk if this is still supported, but I just wanna say THANK YOU. I don't have much Hard Drive space so every time I wanted to play long war, I had to reinstall it and the base game, and then go through and manually re-edit every single thing I wanted to change. This is an incredibly helpful tool.

    I'm using the included changes, but I'm not sure if the new subclasses are working - are soldiers listed using the new subclass titles once promoted from rookie?

    Also, does anything need to be done for compatibility with Roulette Plus? I'm getting duplicate perks showing up as I rank up e.g. Holo Targeting appears for the first and second promotions, same with Fire Rocket

    is this compatible to Long war 1.0? i continue to try to make changes even radical ones so that its easily noticeable and they do not work. I am just wondering if this is not compatible with the 1.0.

    as i am late to this party I'm sure this comment will go unanswered and i will just delete both mods.

    Hello everyone, I just found out about this wonderful tool made by eastpaw, and after I have faced some issues, I think I found the culprit of the situation where aliens or rookies can't move. For me, it was because the language of my Office installation. Mine was Spanish, so when you try to do the export, the DGC.ini gets some names wrong, like "Verdadero/Falso" instead of "True/False", also "," instead of ";".

    I did install the English language for my Office, and the problems are gone:

    Ok, I just found this mod and I want to try your edit (especially the 16 classes).
    Then I follow your instruction, copy the folder and override my LW DGC.
    Start a new game, nothing happen...

    I try using your excel to make min_aim to be like 100 to test if my modify is working.
    I use the excel to open the DGC I override in the Steam's XComGame folder.
    Modify the min_aim and add double the fund_income to 2 time.
    Use the Green button to save to my_ini and override the XComeGame again...

    Now after the tutorial mission, my soldier still have 80 aim (should not be possible), no 16 classes (at least they still have the same name, infantry, etc).
    The weapon also don't give perk (suppression,etc).


    So now I am confuse what is happening, why some change work and some don't ???

    I did check my XCom's config within the document folder (where save located) and delete it, but when I start the game it still get the vanilla LW.
    Any thing I did wrong?

    I do have a question; would it be possible to go for... "crazier" mods using this kind of tool? I am still trying to look for a decent tool that can help me with the changes I have in mind. Basically instead of just making a few adjusts here and there, I am trying to both allow Shivs to gain xp and get promotions. But doing that manually on the notepad is -very- complicated. Especially without having some kind of guidance, as I don''t see what connects the xp to the perks in the core.

      I believe shivs are hardcoded to not receive XP. That would most likely take some hex editing to accomplish this. This is merely a tool that will help edit MyDGC, XcomGame.int, XcomStrategy.int, and RoulettePlus to you liking.

      what you could do is vastly reduce the cost of producing a mec to preferable levels and go from there. You can use ROulettePlus to enable the ability to augment specialist rank soldiers, that way you are basically going to be training a mec instead of a soldier from scratch. You can reduce the time it takes to transform into a mec to however long it would need build a 'shiv'. TO actually have mecs be able to gain XP and level, you would most likely need to write some hex editor stuff though and patch your game.

      Hex editing? Well, is there some kind of tool that can help me with that? I want to test editing XCOM XEW without long war first with hexxer before thinking about doing that on long war.

      I do have UPK Utilities, and it doesn't have any exe to edit hex codes. Apparently it is just to patch uncompressed UPK files. I might look at the how to edit hex codes wiki.
  10. Trying to open 1.10 with Excel 2007 (yeah, my office is Old), throws a warning about unreadable parts in the file, following through with recovery gives this notification:

    1. I am not sure what is going on with this error. I may have an old version of excel on my work laptop, I will attempt to open on that.
      Based on the column numbers in the errors, they should never exist ( the only pages that go that far are LWDGC and MYDGC, and the comments would not be on that version. Just in case, I will remove comments the pages in the next release.

      Does the workbook still function properly, or does that prevent any usage of the workbook?
