While the original Mission names Like Vengeful Vengeance and Purple Scepter are admittedly pure gold, this file modifies the Mission/ Operation names to be significantly more epic. Now you can embark on missions with names like Operation Swift Bastion, Shattered Lance, Watchful Hero, Enduring Aegis, Ashen Herald and Sanguine Halo.
Yes, behold. Missions on which your rookies will feel honored to get heroically mangled to pulp. Missions they will be proud to have displayed alongside their names for all time on the wall of blame. The council has spoken, go forth and die properly!
*Ahem.*
The naming format is an Adjective followed by a Noun so there shouldn't be any goofy names Like Vengeful Vengeance or Hot Heat. there are 52 Prefixes and 75 Suffixes, I tried adding more but XCOM refuses to recognize any that extend beyond that. I'm adding the full list along side the main file to view in a read-me, as it's too long to publish here.
Installation: Instructions
1. Please, MAKE A BACKUP COPY of your XComStrategyGame.int, this is super easy and you'll be able to revert changes, in case of mod conflict or mistakes, You'll be sorry if you don't (see Murphy's Law.)
2.Drop this file into: Steam/steamapps/common/XCom-Enemy-Unknown/XEW/Xcomgame/Localization/INT
3. Profit.
FUTURE UPDATES FOR THIS MOD
I've noticed that certain special missions always have the same name Meld turorial is now "Watchful Shroud", If this is true for all DLC and council missions there is some potential for creativity, for example.
'Freinds in low places': "Jade Dragon", "Jade Hero"
Fishing Village Site recon: "Frozen Terror", "Cold Harbor"
Base defence mission: "Falling Bastion" "Burning Throne"
Exalt Base assault: "Exalted Ruin" "Broken Tower"
Temple Ship: "Mortal Destiny" "Nameless Judgement"
If Anyone can confirm which missions are always given the same operation names it would help greatly.

If there is enough interest I'd consider a comedy version. Anyone interested in missions like operation Angry Beaver or Operation Lost Wallet? Operation Double Rainbow, anyone?
