Hi everyone, i really like this mod. Thank you Agentmass =) I added a few things. It is now also possible to: - add a prefix > i am lazy, so i dont want to write the full shipname each time i rename my ships just to add a few letters in front of the name =) - add a suffix > same as prefix - keep shipnames > just leave the name-box blank and only add prefix/suffix/numbers to ships with different names keeping their names
I contacted Agentmass on 24.10.22 through multiple channels - he is inactive. Therefore i uploaded this extended mod so you guys can profit from it. So have a look at the new version of Rename Selected Ships (extended). =)
Agentmass, feel free to contact me and update your mod with my additions.
Bro..... Amazing thank you so much. Literally will save me hours in late game lol. Been manually naming ships/adding prefix and suffix to each per fleet since x2.
This is a great mod (AgentMass's version), although I seem to have an issue where when I highlight any number of ships to rename, regardless of whether they are numbered or not there is always one of the highlighted ships that will not be renamed. Hopefully Zen90's version fixed that, if so I will definitely leave an endorsement!
Great job! Looks very useful, as I tend to have quite a lot of ships and rename all of them individually takes quite awhile.
I know this is asking for a lot, but could you add the ability to "Randomize" names? Even if it's just pulling from a text/excel type file that we can edit would be amazing. I tend to name every ship a "unique" name individually (makes it easier to track, ironically, when you have dozens and dozens of ships, as opposed to just "Elite Vanguard - 4" dying. I tend to know where "Orion" is currently at.). I don't mind even filling out the text file myself to include the list it pulls from.
I made this mod last Sunday just to see how quickly I could learn how to unpack the files, learn the insane XML language Egosoft uses, and make something useful as a challenge. I program for a living so I'm a bit burnt out from it but if I work on this again in the future this will be the first thing I'll add. I would add a place in the options menu for extensions to specify your list.
